I really appreciate it. The OP-1 is a pain in the ass when you make things like this, but if you’re obsessive and neurotic, you can really do some damage on it. Glad you like it 😊
There’s so many great things about this track. I don’t often times see guitar players making tracks with the op1, but man this was incredible and inspiring. Thanks for sharing!
Surprisingly, to me, this track came out with a very solid AIR meets Blockhead vibe. I like the track a lot, and considering your mic-placement techniques, I'm very amazed by the result. Less is definitely more, but you brought a lot more to the less here. Great job! In the intro, I really wanted to hear a clean vocal dubbed on the vocoder, just to make it pop a bit in clarity, but that's a taste thing.
I'm leaving a comment to let you know that I appreciate the effort. The song sounds amazing! I'm a musician and producer as well and I know how much time and work it takes to create music and record videos like this. Good job! I've checked some other tracks from you and they are cool as well.
If you turn the input volume down on the OP-1 Field and get close enough with the guitar (find the sweet spot), you can actually avoid tracking most of the surrounding noise. Another way to look at it though is using the noise to your advantage and seeing what happens. You may discover a whole new style or genre by letting it in, lol. My biggest lesson with the OP-1, and I still struggle a lot, has been to just “let things happen”. 😊
amazinggggg! subscribed. are the drums from the factory op-1 packs? keep up the good work, and perhaps make some tutorials, on how to actually FINISH a song on the op-1. Sure your channel will explode!
Fantastic, really great stuff, again you nailed all the elements, music, video style, spot on!!! I finally picked up my OP-1 field, definitely a better all round device than the OG OP-1 i had. Now just need to get back into guitar after not playing for many years, need to pick up one though as my old ashwood top one decided to implode!
I’m so stoked for you! This is a new chapter for me as well. All of it brought on by getting the OP-1 Field. It takes me right back to the beginning when I started recording many years ago on a mini disk 4 track. Back to songwriting.
Just got an OP1F and I'm having the same song writing renaissance. Almost as if it's reawakened the type of creativity I had when I first started making music. Your tracks sound so good too. Do you mix/master on the device? Great work!
Renaissance is exactly what it is. It was the last thing I expected. I’m so stoked that it’s all coming back to me. The OP-1 Field is more fun than I could’ve ever asked for, and it makes me so happy to know that I am not the only one going through this!
Thank you for the compliment. All the mixing and mastering was done inside of the OP-1. I’m having the hardest time with the drums though. I’m so tempted to run it through my DAW, but I figured that the only way I’ll get good at this is by cranking out bullshit mix after mix until I get the hang of it. Publishing it definitely keeps me honest and eager.
@@NovakTheEnjoyer Very well done. Im still trying to get comfortable with the balance of mixing via rerecording a track with a master FX vs spending time in creative momentum. Its nice hearing something that sounds as good as your songs. Gives me something else to consider when working on mine!
@@NovakTheEnjoyer They are scattered across various accounts, computers, and voice memos! But I used to upload short synth explorations to another channel "hovy chovy" a few years back.
The middle where the song breaks down into a beat is a nylon string classical guitar that I sampled off of the radio. The rest of the guitar throughout the song is recorded in through the mic. All of the other sounds are from the OP-1 Field itself except for the main Flute. I created that sound on the Arturia Polybrute and then sampled it in.
Definitely AIR vibes, well done
This is crazy unappreciated. I didn’t even realize an OP-1 could make music like this. 😮💨

Oof that sampled break section in the middle was special. Fantastic track man! I definitely have been sleeping on the vocoder…
Yeah, the vocoder is fun to mess with! It really lends itself to making some weird stuff.

So good I listened twice! Very inspiring, the way you use your OP-1 👌
Thanks for taking the time to listen! 👏🏼😃

Thanks!

You sure can do a lot with this little mic. 💪🏼. Thanks for listening!
cool video, great song. Love that metronome motif, kind of eerie haha
Thanks for watching!! That was my first shot at “film making” 😆 so I appreciate the comment. 👍🏼
Crispy guitar recording and paired with the vocoder it is reminiscent of early Air sounds. Love the little sample breakdown too!

I come back to this comment every once in a while. 🥹
@@NovakTheEnjoyer I'm glad you're still enjoying it 😅 You can check out my music if you want! Some feedback is always appreciated 😉
Beautiful. And yes, I thought of Air immediately even before I saw the other comment. :) Appreciate the effort on your video work too :)
Awe, thanks dude 👍🏼. Air is relatively new to me so it’s a trip to hear the similarities.
@@NovakTheEnjoyer yeah particularly their first couple of albums. Great stuff anyway :)
So chill, good job!
Thanks so much!
ANOTHER ONE! I AM IMPRESSED AND INSPIRED: REALLY COOL SONGS !
Awe man, thanks so much!
One of my fav OP-1 vids on RUclips. Sooo good
I really appreciate that :)
Amazing!
Wow, beautiful composition, great execution
Thank you 🙂
This is simply beautiful. It reminds me of the pre-2013 Midlake.
Sweet! New music for me! I’m glad you like it, thanks for stopping by!
I love it
🙏🏼 Thanks for watching!
Great use of op, great writing! Wish my apartment was quiet enough to record acoustic using the op mic haha

Oh hey a new Broken Bells track. Sweet.
I’ll look into them, thanks! Always love new music recommendations. 👌🏼
Damn…. I just listened to Broken Bells. You’re smoking crack. There’s no way I sound that good.
Good stuff!
Thanks!
Good job :) ur channel deserves more subs and views, i leave a sub

I believe these drums are “Grits”, a preset on the OP1F. I haven’t gotten too deep on sampling my own drum sounds yet.
Thanks again for subbing!
Nice bowie chord changes going on.

Very very suave.
Haha, well thank you 😏
nice op solo 🙌🏼 1:34

this is a vibe! how did you get the mix to sound so clean? is it tracked and mixed in a DAW?
No DAW! I have a long way to go, but this was done and finished off on the OP-1.
🤓👍🏼
Thats really good info. You just inspired me to dig deeper with my op-1 keep rockin brother🤙
Amazing- which microphone did you use?
I used the built in mic in the OP-1 Field 🙂
