worst part about this pod is that it isn't like four hours long
REAL
REAL
REAL

REAL
Audio listeners Maya is doing backflips around the room the whole podcast and Connor is broadcasting from the depths of the ocean. It’s wild
no way!!!! I've gotta watch the visuals aswell now lol
“They eat their teeth?”
“Mhm”
“and then they just reload??”
“Yep!”
“Cooool (very concerned)” 💀
Maya is so real for respecting the need of the ocean but being super afraid of it
Is anybody really out here like "erase the world's oceans, because they scare me" 😭
@@Dell-ol6hbyeah ive heard that sentiment before. It really breaks my heart
@Dell-ol6hb Sadly, there are many people that think that way.
thalassopphobia baby❕
there are rich assholes trying to exploit the deep ocean... john oliver did a segment on LWT
As a marine biologist student this has been my favorite episode so far! I’m proud to say I knew all of the creatures on the list and got the quiz questions right, so I guess my studies are going pretty well. Thanks for shedding some light into some of the most mysterious creatures on our planet!
My guest was giant squid from legnth or soerm from mass😊
...Hagfish precede zombies and they're blind too...
Audio listeners are really missing out on amazing Bones content, her laying on Maya's lap/laptop had me in tears
Audio listeners here's what we know about the ocean. Theres a bunch of water like a whole lot
And the fish. They are in There
@@Enjemnsnens and the said fish is scary
When I was a child, my parents got me a subscription to Ranger Rick magazine and one of the first issues I received had an angler fish in it. It was in the 80s and I still remember. Parents, get your kids nerdy subscriptions so they grow up to love science and be curious ❤
The cat was the MVP of this episode.
How about a world’s stealthiest. Either talk about different types of camouflage or hunting tactics
seeing the spider tailed horned viper on this podcast would be sick
@@gavincallahan610that sounds sick
the idea of streaming at the bottom of the ocean when the stream can barely handle the chicken coop is so funny
fun fact, when sonar was first being studied and invented, scientists kept seeing weird things on the radar. at first they thought it was the ocean floor but then saw that it kept moving up and down depending on time of day and such. it was swarms of billions of lanternfish. we have a species of fish so prevalent in the world that it messed with sonar readings and essentially came up as a solid wall on radar due to how many there were
😨
@@mxb2432 dw they're only like an inch long and actually help cool the world down and fight against co2 due to their feeding! most things in the deep ocean are actually relatively tiny unless we're talking about very specific creatures that engage in abyssal gigantism (squids, isopods, some crabs, basically things without skeletons - excluding exoskeletons since they just molt). yknow those really terrifying looking viperfish and the ones with huge teeth? yeah those are only like several inches long

@@Nathan-sh1zg So in the deep ocean everything is either really big or really small? Interesting 🤔
@@_mortiam 'medium' sized animals tend to be around the size of your hand to the size of a basketball. and most animals without skeletons are the ones that get bigger, probably because they're not getting their bones flattened. but most of the scary looking things (besides giant squids and the like) are actually fairly small. the photos are just zoomed in for more detail but that makes people think it's all giant and scary
edit: i just realized that yes scary is relative. the hundred foot long jellyfish and siphonophores can be terrifying to some people, but alas i mostly mean scary as in tons of teeth sharp things
some of the 'scariest' fish you see in those compilations, the viperfish, dragonfish, MOST species of anglerfish, and even the thick tube that is the barreleye fish only get up to about 6 inches long. not that size matters of course
I want nothing more than Maya and Connor spending 5 hours deep-diving (pun intended) on deep-sea knowledge. The deep-sea is so fuckin cool.
HELLO DEEP OCEAN AS A SERIES PLEASE. There are just So many truly fascinating deep sea creatures like carnivorous sponges, vampire squid, siphonophores, greenland sharks (longest lifespan of any know vertebrate!) etc. I really loved both Connor's and Maya's deep dives!
Also I know Connor was tired, but I had a giggle when he was like "whale drops, I think they're called, where they FALL to the floor," (they're called Whale Fall).
The cat playing with Maya's hand and chilling on her lap is so cute
and coming over to connor’s chair 😭 so cute
You should do worlds oldest animal species
that would be joe biden
We need to stop messing with the shit in the ocean before it gets mad and starts evolving to beat our collective ass.
I don’t know why but the whole angler fish reproducing convo and “does it have something to do with the bulb?” Absolutely sent me 😂
I want worlds slimiest so bad
One word: Hagfish.
@@mythos951 Yup, and it already was in an episode
I'd like to see an episode about birds. Longest migration, highest flying, fastest wing speed, largest wing span, smallest wing span, largest humming bird, largest plumage, etc!
Topic idea: world’s meanest or bully. Species that just wreck havoc
It's 10000% a honey badger. They do not give a shit what or who you are it's on sight even if they prolly lose
15:03 kind of. whale falls are seperated into three stages based on the animals that help decompose it. each stage can take anywhere from 6 months to years, so usually a whale fall decomposes anywhere from 1-50 years
Special guest Bones really had some great input on this episode.
whose cat is bones?
@@ninin11 connor an Kayla, afaik
@@ninin11 Connor's
It would be super cool to have guests on the pod in the future to talk about animals in their area of interest? thinking Kayla and birds of prey, Lindsay and marine animals/sharks, Allison and entomology etc! Just a thought! Love y'all, wish WW never ends
21:35 With a predator being an animal that preys on another living animal, the biggest predator would be the biggest living animal on Earth, the Blue whale with them eating Krill (Blue whale - predator, Krill - prey), granted they aren't a animal that the biggest half of animals need to fear being hunted by, but by definition they are predators.
Clicked instantly because I desperately needed to see the cookie cutter shark picture after listening earlier. Did not disappoint (love the podcast!)
Black kitty is so sweet!!
LOVE THIS POD!! Y’all should have Lindsay Nikole on as a guest!!
Some topic suggestions: worlds most beautiful, worlds kindest (maybe some animals do more for others than we currently know?), worlds stupidest (animals with behaviours or adaptations that simply don’t make sense), worlds most intelligent, worlds funniest (weird behaviours like eating rotten fruit and getting drunk from them), worlds angriest (what animals don’t you wanna mess with), worlds most chill (which don’t seem to be bothered), worlds most diverse (animals which have a lot of different adaptations but still count as one species)
CAT APPROVED WHALE LETS GO
Maya's hair is so long now! Grows crazy fast
Who's the black cat? It was so cute how hard it was trying to get pets from Maya while she was talking
GUNNA BE A GREAT DAY AT WORK WHILE I TRY TO TELL THIS STUFF TO MY COWORKERS
I low key treat this more like a talk show I can’t do audio only cause I wanna see all the picturesssss
Love the content y’all are feeding my brain so good so yummy
cat should be a regular guest
You could do a World's Oldest about either extinct animals, or animals that haven't changed much for a long time.
“The ocean is a desert with its life underground and the perfect disguise up above” ..truly.
🎶
La laa laa la la la la, la la laa laa la!
I love the guest apperance of bones. Hes so precious
Def need a part two for deep sea stuff! so many oddities and cool things down there.
In the horror movie "Shark Night" they feature cookie cutter sharks as one of the captured species. It's funny you described an ice cream scoop, because that is exactly how the cookie cutter shark's jaws work. Instead of a top and bottom jaw, this sharks lower jaw is attached just like an ice cream scoop, with a 180 degree rotation then they just scoop out a hemisphere of fish meat. ;p Nice podcast. How about worlds fastest strikes for a topic?
had to come watch this episode for the exclusive Bones content!!! What a cuddly little baby!!!
I LOVE SHARKS. ive got a dwarf lantern shark tattood on my arm and plan to make a full sleeve of different species 🥰 next is gonna be a bamboo shark!
edit: will probably get a cookie cutter shark at some point, theyre interesting af
Kitty is so sweet omg 🥺❤️
I’ve hardly seen anyone talk about cookie cutter sharks other than me. Love the attention you brought to them 🫶🏻
Whose cat is Bones? Maya you look really good with a black cat, great first guest!!
I’d love an episode on worlds most important symbiotic relationships :3
I really appreciate usage of metric system in this podcast 😂
Can you do an episode called World's Coldest? Animals that survive in extreme temperatures c:
Thank you for removing the AI thumbnail 🤘 The actual photo is so much better
RAAAHHH NEW EPISODE!! I'm so excited
This is now my favorite episode. Deep sea stuff fascinate me.
Would you guys ever do special guests on your podcast? It would've been neat to hear Lindsay's perspective on ocean life
That's a very happy cat
water is also unique in that ice is less dense than cold water, meaning that ice floats on top rather than sinking to the bottom. Also, episode suggestion, world's most colorful, about interesting examples of animal coloration
Yay! Thank you for making my work so much more entertaining. Keep it up guys!
CAT SPOTTED
Podcast is great! You’ve really found your footing. It’s so crazy how quick they pass though! I’ve just listened to this and the last one and it’s felt like 15 minutes!
Maya would not enjoy playing Subnautica.
Best episode yet, thanks M & C.
loving this episode rn! Worlds most resilient would be interesting
another great ep, thanks worlds wildest team!
lots of new things I learned!! Also the kitty was a nice addition :')
AUDIO LISTENERS MAYA BANGS!!! MAYA BANGS!!!!!!
Best episode until now, so fascinating & entertaining!
Bro this is my favourite podcast
This is a great podcast/video! Thank you.
Gotta say I love this podcast! Excited that they are talking about the Ocean, it's always so interesting, and mysterious since we know so little. Great podcast!
I love this se so much. Wish they were longer
Worlds Highest could be a fun idea!
Thank you both.
Been a week already damn, time goes by so fast
I saw someone did the calculation for how fast the submersible that imploded near Titanic was and basically the people on board wouldn't even have registered it at that speed. It was like 1 millisecond for complete implosion.
Episode 4 and Maya and Connor have finally answered a quiz question right haha
good epi, I will have nightmares now
I KNEW THE ANSWER TO THE QUIZ I FEEL SO SMART I'd just like the thank lindsay nikole for teaching me abt the ocean
You should do worlds loudest! 😊❤ I love this podcast, super educational and entertaining
y'all should do an episode on world's tallest - elevation-wise, or animals that solely depend on tall tree canopies and never ever touch ground. would be a cool ep to talk about tree conservation and also climate change bc a lot of animals are losing habitat bc it's not cold enough (like the american pika)
Good episode! I am just subscribed to your channel 💯👍🔔
YES WORLDS WILDEST!!1!
Best podcast everrrrr
Twilight zone vlog when?
I love this pod
One of my fav deep sea creature is the yeti crab. I think what it's called. I saw it on a wild kratts episode when I was younger
Awesome podcast.
Yes! 🙌
there should be an episode on the world's smallest/tiniest methinks
BONE WORMS DOUGDOUG WOULD BE SO EXCITED
I just finished listening to it on Spotify but I heard there was a cat appearance, must watch.
Doing one on wacky extremely old extinct animals would be neat. Great episode!
3:10 it’s definitely not 4-5 hours walking. More like 2-2.5
Maya and Connor treehouse building stream when
Edit: got to the end of the episode and next one is worlds weirdest already! Yay ^__^ also, people have probably already said worlds cutest a lot but that would make a fantastic episode.
How about most unconventional bodies? Crazy exoskeleton? No skeleton? Some of these deep sea creatures qualify, that’s what gave me the idea. ❤ Any animals with the most extreme adaptations to the structure of their body.
We're Ocean Guys, of course we respect the ocean from a distance
24:00 bones just wants petssssss
This is my favorite and least favorite episode yet, I have a HUGE fear of fish so watching this was torture but I also want to learn lol
YAAAAAAAY!
The cat 😂 29:05
14:02 so quotable 😂😂😂
Shout out to SQFT fish for making a cute short about the cookie cutter shark a while ago so I knew exactly what it was when it came up here!
Bones!! 🦴
