      Hi teacher. I just have a quick question, so i have my speaking test really soon and im practicing as many questions as possible because i wanna get 9 in ielts
      So im seeing many people who got 9 and most of them use difficult words. But i can't memorise them that well. So do you think it is important to use difficult vocab in order to get 9 ?
      Hope you will answer this

    • @JacksEnglish

      @@thegirlfrommars8099 Hi! Thanks for the question. Vocabulary is definitely an important aspect in determining your result. If you lack time, I would recommend the following: Memorize general-use, high-level words/expressions. These are words/expressions you can use in many situations but are considered high-level. Some examples are: Tremendously, On the contrary, Predominantly, Owing to the fact that. Also, try to find some nice upgrades for your basic conjunctions. That's an easy way to boost your vocabulary. Good luck!!

    I am risk taker and I often enjoy hiking although I am 29 for now. I like gazing the beautiful scenery from the top of the mountain. You talked about your trip to Australia. It may be a good place for advanture trips but I really fear spider since I was a little girl. In my country, particularly in rural areas, we often see spiders which have long legs, sometimes in toilets. So, before I enter to toilet, I first thing I do is to find spider. I haven't ever been to Australia but it may have more number of spiders than our country.😮 😮 By the way, I like your podcasts very much. If I have a chance to go to Korea one day, I wanna join your private classes. Good teacher🎉

      Thanks for sharing your answer! Yes, there are an awful lot of spiders in Australia, but if you stay away from the countryside, you can mostly avoid them. I hope you get your chance to come to Korea one day!

      @@JacksEnglish I have another question that just poped in my head.
      Suppose the cue card topic is really unique and I couldn't understand a word or the meaning of it. For example, if the topic is "A moment of serendipity in your life" and I don't know what "serendipity" means, how should I answer if I ever face this type of situation?

    • @JacksEnglish
      @JacksEnglish  Месяц назад +1

      @@nahianhasnat6546 Yes, this can happen. Firstly, you can ask the examiner for the definition of individual words. If you still don't understand fully, just try to make a guess based on the extra details below the part 2 question (below "you should say"). Whatever you decide on, commit to your structure and aim for a full 2 minutes.
