Ranveer Singh has set such a high standards for Historical Dramas in Bajirao Mastani that actors need to go extra miles to satisfy the audiences. I am sure if Samrat Prithviraj and Panipat were released before Bajirao Mastani, they would have done better on box office.

I believe manushi chillar as Sanyogita is also a miscast. She was stone faced expressionless throughout the film. A more trained and seasoned actor would’ve been a great choice for a period epic princess’s role.

Casting Akshay Kumar as Prithviraj Chauhan was a mistake, And casting Arjun Kapoor in Panipat was a blunder
Akshay should have dedicated enough time to get into the skin of the great warrior and shooting such a big project in just 40-50 days shows his lack of dedication. Yrf investment of over 300 cr failed miserably. Also, Manushi chillar too wasn't appropriate for sanyogita!

Lord Emraan Hashmi Sir said in one interview while promoting his movie Why Cheat India that he regretted doing Azhar movie and he seemed kind of very disinterested in the movie Raaz Reboot as well. But anyways he's a phenomenal actor with many good roles, underrated movies and chartbuster songs. It's actually very difficult to pull off historical characters but Ranveer Singh will not play all characters. Many people say that Ranveer should've been in Panipat and Samrat Prithviraj movie. And seeing Arjun Kapoor being casted in many good movies just pisses me off. And obviously casting Tiger Shroff as a student in SOTY 2 was a big mistake. Aditya Seal the actor who played the villain character almost stole the show in SOTY 2 but SOTY 2 was crap anyways.

Sara did no justice to her character, she was really over dramatic in love ajj kal 2, kriti should have been casted in the movie opposite kartik for 2 reasons.
1. she is an amazing actor and can make the character to live.
2. she looks great opposite kartik.

@@Optimist7799 i dont want to fight with you, everybody has their own opinion, and each needs to respect that, kriti has been working in the industry for years and has struggled alot not like sara who is the daughter of a star saif ali khan, and git her movies just by weightloss, the other thing is that kriti has done an amazing job in mimi, bareilly ki barfi and etc, and she deserves all the attention that she is getting, and also in panipat she did a wonderful job, and arjun kapoor was miscast as again he is a starkid and surprise he also had to loose his weight this is the differece between nepo kids and hardworkinng adults, and kriti has done alot for her career, you might not like her but that doesnt mean that everyone else should not like her as well, everybody has their own choice and opinions, you dont like her, that is yours, and in my opinion she is one of the gems, the bollywood industry has been blessed within the past years.
So respect each others opinion, as i am not in the mood to fight :)

Mostly if the first movie is a hit, makers unnecessarily cast people with bigger names in the sequel. Sometimes, it works, and sometimes not, but the point is that we loved the casting in the first part, so why change them? Example: Jolly LLB, we miss Arshad Warsi and Booman Irani in the sequel. Hoping that if Tumbadd ever has a sequel, they don't destroy it with wrong casting. Sohum Shah nailed his role also other supporting casts.

I disagree with Varun Dhawan's point that he was a miscast in Kalank. Hell No! Varun Dhawan is a mis cast in all the films. Only when a producer wants to show loss in his income statement to avoid paying tax , he casts Varun Dhawan because that way it is assured that the film has to flop..

Shraddha was fabulous in Haseena parkar according to me. You can't judge a film's success just because of wrong casting. Many factors can be highlighted. The "person" which the actor plays me not be known by some of the audience. That makes them less interested which ultimately leads to vacant seats in the movie theatres.
If you know so well about the right casting, then i suggest you to be a director rather being a critic. Bollywood mein HIT pein HIT movies aayenge.♥️

Shraddha Kapoor was actually fantastic in Haseena Parkhar. Those kind of films cater to a niche audience and hence don’t bring in the numbers. There r also films like Rockstar, Jolly LLB 2, Housefull that became watchable, thanks to the performances of their lead actors, as opposed to any concrete story. Arjun Kapoor I must agree, is a misfit in a lot of films he was cast in, not very versatile…should stick to the genres that made him successful in the first place.
Sara Ali Khan in Love Aaj Kal 2 and Nargis in Rockstar were extremely bad choices, neither of those two can act. Idk what made Imtiaz cast them

I Totally disagree with your opinion about #Varun and #Amitabh sir , Varun Performed Beautifully in #Kalank the perception of his acting changed after this film... And as for #Thugs of Hindustan I believe it failed due to the inconsistent personality trait of #AamirKhan specially in the last spell of the film, the audience couldn't understand and react to his character properly... He was the Hero of the film he should have stayed with the thugs at least in the last spell. Then again...

@@thelegend12346 True.... Though the cinematography was really amazing and the song picturization was apt to perfection but the screenplay seemed more familiar to the 2000s era. Modernization in terms of screenplay is very necessary for old scripts like kalank.

originally Shraddha Kapoor was the leading actress for Saina but she ended up leaving the shoot midway and Parineeti Chopra was taken as a last minute replacement
She left the movie because of health issues. She got Dengue while shooting for that film.
Arushi Sharma who played Leena in Love Aaj Kal 2 should have played Zoe as well, if not her than Alia Bhatt or Radhika Madan.
I think Varun Dhawan was one of the better things of Kalank, I felt it was Alia who was miscast in the film. I'm not doubting Alia's acting capability but sometimes you are just not suitable for a particular part.
Arjun Kapoor literally ruined Panipat. Nobody with a sane mind would dare to cast Arjun in such an epic. I think Shahid or Vicky could have been a better choice.
Vicky could have been a good choice to play Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan as well.
Also in Rockstar Aditi Rao Hydari should have played Heer.
Vicky part was absolutely true 👍 All we could see was Akshay trying to act as prithviraj n not the character's greatness itself while in sardar udham Vicky was phenomenal 🤩👏

Don't agree with you in Rockstar for Nargis. Personally I felt she was made to portray the role of a vulnerable person which she did with perfection.
I totally agree with all the points -- I am a huge fan of Ashutosh Gowariker -- but Arjun Kapoor spoiled Panipat (maybe because Hrithik and Ranveer, and no one else agreed to do a period film). Akshay is always under-prepared because he does a lot of movies at the same time. Sara was horrible! I am a huge fan of Hrithik Aamir and Ajay, but they too have done some nonsense films - Hrithik didn't deserve Main Prem Ki Diwani Hu, Aamir in Mela, and Ajay in Himmatwala!
In my opinion Ranbir Singh should be cast in Prithviraj his performance was amazing in Bajirao mastani and Padmavatt a massive film.

I feel the film KALANK was an overall something lacking in it not just Varun no character connected with me. and Parineeti was actually good in Saina carrying the most part of the film and the heavy emotional scenes perfectly but I think the makers didn't utilize her with bad 'infamous mole' look and accent :)

Panipat and Samrat Prithviraj was awesome story and could be an overall wonderful movie if the lead casting would be different. If ranveer singh would have performed this movies would be something different today
But over all I loved watching Panipat. This should come as a chapter in History books so people instead of learning of Akbar could learn something about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Peshwa Bajirao who increased the Maratha Empire till The Attock. Also Peshwa Bajirao at young age deafeated the Sultan of Delhi and conquered Delhi.
