The icon sax player Alto Reed had some great sax moments that truly left their mark on everyone. I got the honors to be able to see him live. The silver bullet band had a true legend.
Grew up in Toledo Ohio right on the border with Detroit, and you're right, Bob was a staple for us too! I remember hearing him on CKLW! Happy New Year 🎊🕛🎊🕛🎊!!!
Happy New Year’s Eve Jordan! Wishing you and yours the very best. Much love and happiness going into the 2025 year. Still listening to both you and Amber even on different channels. Will listen to both of you no matter what .
This is young Bob Seger, even though Back in '72 was his sixth album. He had an extensive career before he hit it big with Live Bullet in the mid-70's. If you like the raw sound of early Seger, check out Looking Back, Heavy Music and Rosalie. Just fantastic.
I have a funny story... So back in like 83 there was this guy in town who drove around with what I thought was his name spray painted on his car...really nice and funny guy .. I was like 7 yrs old and saw this guy pick my mom up for a date... Well the next morning momma wasn't home and my brother with a teenage neighbor was like where's mom and I'm like she's out with Bob Seger... He's like WTH you talking about... I'm like yeah I saw him here at the house picking momma up His car was right here in the driveway....See i thought that was his name bc he had that name written on his car ... But it took a while to figure it out so the rumor for awhile was my mom dated Bob Seger... Funny small town liberty Indiana
For the love of Bob, can he finally get to receive not only the Grammy Awards Lifetime Achievement Award but also the Kennedy Award he so richly deserves. Bob and his beautiful band have not only etched their music into the lives of millions and leaving their mark ingrained in time and music history. Sadly missing our beloved Sax man Mr. Alto Reed may you Rest In Peace. Bob and his great gravelly voice is plain iconic. Love the long haired pictures of Bob in this video reaction.
I saw Bob Seger in Louisville Kentucky back in 75' when he opened for KISS and blew them off the stage ! I later saw him twice at the Derby Eve Jam with The Atlanta Rythm section with probably the best Bass player I ever heard Paul Goddard he did a Bass solo that is UNMATCHED . If you look Hard enough you can find it on the net and IT IS WORTH IT ! Gof bless him he's gone now and ended his life's work as a College English Teacher . But seeing Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band back then was TREMENDOUSE ! PK
Bob Seger songs that are MUST reacts: 1. Turn the Page 2. Down on Main Street Other PLEASE reacts: 1. Head East - Never Been Any Reason 2. Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers - I've Done Enough Dying Today In case you don't know, Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers, they are three brothers featuring Larry on lead vocals who is an incredible tenor. The harmonies are those family harmonies that are smooth as butter. Head East is quintessential early 70s rock.
Happy new year jay and amber and the kids..I still have the Bengals t shirt you sent to England for me a few year's ago. And still a Bengals fan .. All the best everyone..🙏🏻🥳
Oh my goodness..... That song "Till it Shines" is absolutely one of my favorites too!! Jay, you should check out the groove on this song as well!!! Happy New Year everyone!
When you grow up you listen to music your parents play and then music your friends play in school and then you listen to music in night clubs. BUT then I found your RUclips channel and im getting EDUCATED in so many different types of music. So it's a massive thank you from me. ❤
Seger always put on a great show; my first concert was seeing him and his band during their Night Moves tour. It was fabulous. Suggestion, if you can find clips, Jude Cole Start the Car, for some early 1990's music.
Yes, yes, yes, yes, *YESSSSSS!!!* . All my dreams are coming true! First we got a James Young Styx tune, now we get pre-Silver Bullet Seger! This is IMO the *real* Bob…no matter how much Bob and Punch Andrews try to bury it. The reason that the guitar is *so* good is because Bob is being backed by the famous Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section (from Muscle Shoals AL, where this was recorded), consisting of… Pete Carr, lead guitar Jimmy Johnson, rhythm guitar David Hood, bass Keep going, please! I've given you literally *dozens* of suggestions from those first seven albums, but let me boil it down to just two, from the two ends of this period: "2+2=?" from the first album, when he was part of The Bob Seger System, with the BIG sound and "Twenty Years from Now", from his seventh album, "Seven", which is simply brilliant. *HAPPY NEW YEAR, JAY!!* (PS, if we get some 1972-era Fleetwood Mac while you're feeling generous, I surely won't complain either.)
Need to hear “BOB SEGER”doing: “NIGHT MOVES “ a great one!!! I haven’t seen it on your playlist ( some say you did it but I don’t see it). My favorite!!
Jay, I know you love late 70's cool vibe music like Ambrosia & the Little River Band. You will definitely like Pablo Cruise. Whatcha Gonna Do and Love Will Find a Way are both great.
Happy New Year Jay! I could be wrong, but I feel whatever happened was not your fault. In my 66 years of life, whenever someone completely changes their appearance, something is going on. I wish you both much love in 2025 and hope you can make it through to the other side. ❤
New year, new situation, new start! You have an untapped resource of Pink Floyd available…the Pulse Concert. You won’t regret it. Telegraph Road by Dire Straits is one you’ll love. Low Spark of High Heeled Boys by Traffic, Robin Trower-Too Rolling Stoned you’ll like. Still a ton of music to explore but your channel has covered a lot of the good ones.
Bob Seger is probably my very fave,!!!! He's the ultimate rock poet, but can get down and dirty rocking too! I'm not sure if you've done Come To Poppa, but that's a bluesy funky song. Another of my faves is his version if Tina Turner's Nutbush City Limits from Seger's Live Bullet double album. In my opinion Best live album ever!! ❤❤❤
Big in Detroit, the Swampers from Muscle Shoals played on some tracks. Skynrd references the Swampers in Sweet Home Alabama, Duane Allman played with them for a while. My favorite early Seger is two plus two, a. Vietnam song for blue collar guys. Similar to ccr fortunate son.
Please. Please...play Bob Seger anytime! We are all the same age so we lived the early Seger sound way back. My ex was a musician so we hit Summerfest every year...and met him and Alto with the band. Only that group of guys could create the Seger sound! Loved those years. Loved that sax!
Bob Seger was my dad's ABSOLUTE favorite. He was mad bc he couldn't find his cassette. Gave up looking for it. He was in my car and I forgot I had it in the tape deck. ,(yes I'm old) it came on and about the third song he realized I had his tape. 😢he took it from me. Hahahahaaaa😅
Happy New Year... if you like this song then you need to hear "Lucifer" off of the album Mongrel. It's got a great bass line and Pep Perrine on drums (his kit was way ahead of it's time).
I love me some Bob! Got a suggestion for you, have you ever done any Montrose? 70's rock I would suggest Rock Candy. Early Sammy Hagar from Van Halen. Happy New Year to you and family!
Love all of Bob Seger’s songs!! Here’s a suggestion for a new band you might like; The Fabulous Thunderbirds, formed in 1974 by vocalist Kim Wilson and guitarist Jimmy Vaughan (SRV’s older brother); a bluesy rock band; check out their 1986 song “Tuff Enuff”! You’ll like their vibe!! Ruff & Tuff biker bar ZZ Top music!!
Till it Shines is absolutely a favorite Bob Seger song that I think 🤔 you'll love! Here's a link for the song ruclips.net/video/HSPHeoxpBBc/видео.htmlsi=cThHl3vXE6twEVIl
Almost want to move to OKC, just to get the honour of an uber ride from our celebrity boy J. here - well...tornadoes?? All joking aside, what a kind thing you just said. I just hope you didn't get 20 drunken phone calls ALL at 2 in the morning wanting that ride. On a related note - another song to check: "Go For a Soda" by Kim Mitchell, who used to be a highway patrol cop - hence the subject of the song - (& its 80s.) The song (instrumentation) itself is right up your alley, J. I guarantee that you will like it - BUT - RUclips has many versions of it & with a WIDE variation in clarity. Best is the Greatest Hits album cover version, put out by Kim Mitchell himself (or if that is the type that gets blocked more, one whose clarity is almost as good is one put out by Tyler Stewart, showing Kim in shades, a baseball cap (a man after your own heart) & a cigarette. Happy New Year, J. (Things will get better, for sure, just keep remembering that & working on it - even if you need to take short pauses - & maybe go listen to some good music. )💞
We have just popped into 2025 here in Ireland. Have a good one, Folks
Happy New Years ❤🎉😅
Well hello from the past cousin. Still 2024 here in Alabama, USA
Slainte from the West Coast. ✌️
Happy New Years to you! 🥳
Happy New Year Ireland!🎉🥂🍾
Can't go wrong with Bob....he has groove and soul!
cheers ... !
His Sax player has one of the most Iconic sax parts in the song Turn The Page....Alto Reed was his name...he passed away sadly a couple years ago
A superb song with that superb sax part!
The icon sax player Alto Reed had some great sax moments that truly left their mark on everyone. I got the honors to be able to see him live. The silver bullet band had a true legend.
Might be the Swampers here, this record predates the silver bullet band
The original turn the page is on the Back in '72 album. The one that is most played is from the Live Bullet album.
Never go wrong with Bob Seger
Rock and Roll Never Forgets by Bob Seger, I guarantee you're going to love that one!
Aw, one of my favorite artists. 'Ramblin' Gamblin' Man' is a really good early Bob Seger song, too.
Agreed 💯 esp live version from LIVE BULLET 🤘
@@db4982 ❤️🎶❤️saw him at Rondeau Provincial Park, Ontario in late '60's! Quite a show!! 🥰🎉✌️

Happy New Year. Grew up in Detroit. Bob was a staple for us.
Grand Funk had to be as well, even though they're from Flint.
Grew up in Toledo Ohio right on the border with Detroit, and you're right, Bob was a staple for us too! I remember hearing him on CKLW! Happy New Year 🎊🕛🎊🕛🎊!!!
Same here! Grew up there during the 70s. Didn’t realize how lucky I was at the time!

Bob Seger pure gold. Great🎊🎉 guitar, and that voice!
Always great to hear some Bob Seger. Happy New Year to you Jay, and all of the RSR subscribers.
Happy New Year’s Eve Jordan! Wishing you and yours the very best. Much love and happiness going into the 2025 year. Still listening to both you and Amber even on different channels. Will listen to both of you no matter what .
Thanks for putting out the word about not drinking and driving!

Happy New Year 🎊. My sister and my husband graduated in 72. Me in 77. Good times to grow up in. Peace out man. ✌️

Great tune Jay. The further back you go with Seger (See-ger), the more grit and somewhat Psychedelic he was. All great stuff!
Love from the class of 72.
Bob Seger songs that are MUST reacts:

Segar is amazing, beloved in Michigan his home state too
Bob Seger has ALWAYS been one of my favorites!
Thanks, Jay, I for finding this gem. I had never heard of this before. Of course, it's not a single bad song on the album. Lol.😂😂😂
"Ramblin Gamblin Man" A Rockin Song!
Rob cranking out these videos 👍 good to see . Keep them spirits high . Happy new year
Happy New Year Jay
Seger always put on a great show; my first concert was seeing him and his band during their Night Moves tour. It was fabulous. Suggestion, if you can find clips, Jude Cole Start the Car, for some early 1990's music.
I wish I had seen Bob!
Does he still tour?
@ I don’t think so.
Damn, bucket list artist to see live.😢
Yes, yes, yes, yes, *YESSSSSS!!!* . All my dreams are coming true! First we got a James Young Styx tune, now we get pre-Silver Bullet Seger! This is IMO the *real* Bob…no matter how much Bob and Punch Andrews try to bury it.

“NIGHT MOVES “

He used the sax in "Turn The Page", also from the "Back on 72" album.

Horizontal bop is another great song of his that's underrated
Night Moves is a must - one of BSSSB’s most iconic and which put them on the map - IMHO.
Loved early Seger. It was his best years in my opinion.

You can find her at amberreacts. She has her own channel now. Seems they are splitting up but nobody knows anything more.

WTH?
Where the hell have you been? He doesn't want to hear that question anymore.
A great Christmas song by Bob is Little Drummer Boy, and a really fun Christmas one is teenage Bob doing "Santa's Got A Brand New Bag".
Hilarious recommendation Joe Bandy & Moe Stamply " Good 'Ol Boys" 😂 Happy New Year!
Actually this is the last album before bringing on The Silver Bullet Band. The album also has the studio version of Turn The Page.

For great saxophone with Bob Seger.... listen to Bo Diddley from the LIVE BULLET album..... it's a rocker!!!
I bet Bob has some cool stories to tell being on the road !
Bob S Was so huge in the 70s by far over 80s BOb, S And 70s Rod Stwart 2 HUGE 70S SUPER STARS , Prove me WRONG

"Go For a Soda" by Kim Mitchell, who used to be a highway patrol cop - hence the subject of the song - (& its 80s.)
