That looks like a nice riding area for a seasoned old guy like myself. Wide enough for multiple lines but rough enough to have fun on. Thanks Big Guy for the videos, keep them coming
Hi Derek, I just bought my first bike in April, a 2024 KLX 300. I absolutely love it. I have nothing to compare it to since this is my first bike, but I did a ton of research on the bikes in this class & chose the KLX (lime green). Just wanted to say, I greatly appreciate your videos on the KLX, from just riding, to upgrades, etc. Your demeanor, humbleness and attitude are top shelf! Goodness you even showed yourself taking a dirt dive - we're all human bro & you seem to be a very good one. Thanks for the videos man, keep them coming 👍
Thank you so much for this comment! I appreciate it very much. You’ll love the new KLX glad you went with lime green too, I think it looks the coolest 😆
I literally just bought this same bike and I live about one hour from Brown and Brushy mountain. I'm already looking to add a lot of the same mods you have. Almost seems like fate that I found this video. I've never been to brown and would love to get there sometime with people that already know the place. I live in Denver and we can swap secret riding spots!!
Now that you’ve been riding the KLX for a while, riding with other people and seeing what they’re riding….. are you still happy with the KLX? Or are you thinking about your next bike? Maybe make a WR450F or 300 2 stroke street legal? 🤔🤷♂️
It’s a very good question. I’m still very happy with the KLX 300. It hasn’t had any issues keeping up with the other bikes in the trails. If we were doing more on road/highway riding I might have to consider it.
Man I wish I could go this Saturday, but I have to work. I know it's a ways off but I have a lot of free weekends in June July and August. I'm down to check out some of your favorite spots!
For sure man just hit me up, I actually just picked up a new grey klx300 a few weeks ago. Really enjoying it, remove the secondary throttle plate it makes it way better
You have some good videos man. I have watched two so far and will watch more soon. I also subscribed tonight as well. Can I ask, what helmet mic do you use & how do you set it up in your helmet and to the go pro? Also, do you add in some of your narration in post ride, back at home when you’re editing the video? Thanks.
Thank you very much! I use the DJI mic system. It comes with two microphones, I put one in my helmet and one in the rear fender bag. The helmet mic I clip directly onto the Django helmet mount and it puts the mic right in front of my mouth. If you have a go pro you’ll need to buy the go pro “media mod” to use the microphones. I do use a mixture of audio from the ride and a voice over that I record while editing.
@@DerekDualSport Thanks for answering that. That’s a a big help. I have 3 quick follow up questions … #1. The attachment on the outside (lower right side) of the helmet, does that have anything to do with this set up? #2. The second mic you put in the rear fender bag, is that turned on to record sound, or it’s there as a spare? #3. How long do the batteries last for the DJI mic set?
The attachment on the lower right side of the helmet is for communication with riding buddies who have the same communication system. All my audio and pov video is run from the chin mount, Both microphones are recording at the same time. I like this set up so when I have nothing to say I can just pick up a lot of engine/exhaust sound from the second mic. The DJI mics last literally all day which I love. I set them up at the beginning of my ride and they will stay on until I get home. I’ve gone 8-10hrs. The go pro battery drains far more often then the mic battery.
@@DerekDualSport Cool. So, one Mic is plugged directly into the gopro media mod, how do you get the audio from the second mic onto the video? What editing software do you use to edit your videos once your back home?
@redeemedadventures so the DJI mic package comes with a receiver and two wireless mics. The receiver plugs into the media mod, and the go pro records the audio from both wireless mics from the receiver. I use Final Cut Pro X to edit video, but If you don’t have a Mac I’d use Premiere Pro to edit.

Nice ride! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching! 🤘
What other bikes have you owned before the KLX300?
How you like that WRR? 😏

I also have a Kawasaki KFX 400 and Talaria MX4 that I like to take to Brushy and Adventure world
Awesome congrats on the new bike! I’m down to meet up I should have some free weekends in June/July/August.

Great video thanks
Thanks for watching @adv_lee 🤘
Looks like you hit a root all kitty wampus for that crash.
We’re going Saturday if you want to join. Trail 1A-1B-9 is a great loop. You’re on the main trail it’s the least fun lol

"I just don't know what went wrong"
*me looking at all those exposed roots*
😂 I'm just surprised that those roots took me down. I'm in denial.
@@DerekDualSport Lol. Ice, ball bearing sized gravel, and roots are all treacherous.
@@TommyNitro Alright alright haha, I'm just gonna have to take your word for it. From now on I'm dodging tree roots. Thanks!
@@DerekDualSportis it maybe because they're a little slippery or something and maybe your front gave out?
I live about 30 mins from Brown Mountain if anyone wants to do some riding in that area let me know !
Brown Mountain? Doesn't look any worse than Uwharrie.
