I only have the pro 3. It is true to size, pretty stable, and comfortable. I just used it for a half marathon last week and had no complaints. I will use it for my marathon in two weeks.
Sizing comments are spot on. Size 11 in the pro 3 almost hurts and a size 11 in the pro 4 feels like a daily trainer fit. I agree the Pro 3 was the faster shoe at 5k pace and workouts. One thing I noticed however was the pro 3 was too bouncy and wild for a track workout. The pro 4 is a little more tame for that. Overall I prefer the pro 4 as the ultimate long run shoe with some tempo and race pace mixed in, but I wont choose it for race day. For race day I need something like the metaspeed paris
I'm a pro 3 owner and lover and just got the pro 4s in today. I've only been able to try them on but they feel amazing and so smooth. The 3s are awesome but it's a totally different feel than the 4s. I still feel bounce in the 4s and the transition is so smooth it definitely feels like it's attached to my foot. The 3s for me are really bouncey and I feel like I'm on top of the foam. Even though it's the same stack height I feel way more connected to the ground in the 4s and feel like I will have better turnover. I've been hearing conflicting reviews that the 4s lack the pop but I don't think so after just walking around. I will run in them tomorrow 8x1 min repeats above threshold pace to get a better idea but right now I'm in love with the step in feel.
Pro 4 is good for fast and long runs for me. I set a 10k pb on Sunday without going all out as I'm tapering for a marathon. Really is a shoe you put on and forget about. I've had no issues with the laces like some.
The type of rubber Saucony uses in v3 and v4 has been a softer blend and it is wearing faster than v1/v2 rubbers but grip is a tad better. I didn't like that they even reduced rubber from the heel (the hole in the lateral side rubber where I tend to wear off). V4 will be less durable for heel landers. Personally, I might skip v4 altogether.
I couldn't use V-1,2 or 3..I always figured that something wasn't quite right with the last..you just verified what my feet said..the pro4 works OK but I don't like the insoles..I changed it out for the V3 insole and made a much nicer ride..
Agree 100% with all the things mentioned. Curious to know your thoughts on grip. I find the Endorphin ___ 4 lineup (Speed and Pro) to have a bit of slip on wet pavement. Are others having that same issue?
How's the foot width of the 4 compared to the 3? I have sorta flat arches and my foot arch feels like it's slightly hanging off the Pro 3. Not sure if it's just a race day shoe thing?

I absolutely love the snappy, bouncy ride of the Pro 3, and am not a long distance runner, so I guess I can safely skip the 4.

I prefer the pro3 and use 11.5 in the 3 and 12 in the 4. 11.5 rubbed my toes.
