This are high-level people. A Brazilian that goes to Switzerland and his optician flies over from the UK, paying a flight and a hotel in Switzerland, which costs more than 10 of my glasses, to deliver them their glasses, Meanwhile, he walks around with some custom made glasses from Japan and a frame made of gold, lmao. Definitely another league.
Hi Robert, are you able to advise what material Zeiss Smartlife rimless 1.67 & framed 1.74 hi-index lenses are made from? As Zeiss website just says “plastic”. It’s like they’re hiding information, as I noticed Nikon also just say “plastic” too. Thanks.
It is a type of high index optical plastic. They are referred to by their refractive index, so '1.67' or '1.74' is literally the terminology used 99% of the time. I think there are other more technical names such as 'MR-12' but that doesn't really give you any more information
very nice pair you are wearing ; my experience of metal frames is horrible specially with nose pads hurting my nose with black spots . Two frames Gotti and Silhouette both are swiss made with zeiss super lenses but not wearing them at all almost £2000 glasses . Is there anything you can suggest to solve this .
I am an optician based in new delhi... According to me you should get your nosepads a bit loose and if possible, you can change them for new ones which are soft/smooth or made up of silicon material
I find nosepads very personal. My Lindberg thintanium nosepads were digging and hurting and pinching by the end of the day I had marks on my nose. All it needed was widening just a little bit. They fixed them for me at the spectacle factory. Now they feel great and just sit perfectly.
Both Gotti and Silhouette are good brands, but it sounds like either they don't fit properly, or they simply need adjusting. If you're hyper-sensitive, then I'd recommend Reykjavik Eyes or Flair.
The Robert Le Roche stole the show! I've never seen brown adaptive with sapphire flash coating. Really beautiful.
