Best thing I ever bought was plastic razor blades. They are orange and come with a blue handle. Dulls quickly but won’t scratch fiberglass. Once scraped, a quick wipe of acetone removes the rest. If someone used a permanent adhesive product like 3M 5200, there is even a spray product that breaks that bond. Concur with the comment about replacing the screws with nuts and bolts. Also less chance the screws damage the wires while underway. Happy Winter, I just ran mine to the storage yard today.
As already suggested. Swap out for stainless steel collar/light assembly. When going thru what you are doing. It is worth the money to save in future. Also looks much better
You could change the hardware to a stainless threaded style with a washer and self locking nut on the inside of the cavity instead of making new holes?
I've said it before, I'll say it one more time....plastic drywall anchors in the screw holes. No need to drill more holes other than maybe oversizing the originals a little more and putting the screws back in. Plastic drywall anchors.
@ did not think of that But that makes total sense. I guess my brain would never have made the connection to something I use at home all the time. Agreed that I don’t want to screw any more holes unnecessarily.

@@willtell7023 good point.
My neck, arms and shoulders were starting to hurt watching that.
You and me both brother! Not fun.

That’s a great idea!! Thanks for watching and commenting.
I wonder why that was sealed, being on the underside of the arch?
Not sure. Good question. Hadn’t thought of that.

Really need to wear gloves using solvents, they enter your bloodstream in about 20 seconds .
Sometimes I forget.
The longer we own our boats the more we find little nusence repairs that just get on our nerves. You get sick of looking at them after a while.
@markdimaio8396 Sometimes you just have to turn the other way.
