  • PC Smith and his Malinois, Kelly are called to a late night break in at a South London pet shop and find themselves being given the run around at Biggin Hill airfield. While the Metropolitan Police helicopter, call sign India 99, circles with its thermal imaging camera, Smith and Kelly corner two thieves and make the arrest. Pit bulls are illegal under the Dangerous Dogs Act and PC Andy Miller finds himself face to face with a starving and angry pit bull who he has been sent to corral. After a close call, PC Miller and his German Shepherd, Nelson, take on the might of the Met’s dog section in the London heats of the annual police dog trials. Nelson comes fourth, but PC Miller is over the moon, as he qualifies for the National Trials. The female members of the dog squad also hit the high spots: PC Emma Robling, and her Belgian Shepherd, Xia (which means Summertime in Chinese) corner a burglar who specializes in robbing garden sheds and PC Adele Gibson takes part in a dawn drugs raid which sees her specialist drugs, cash and firearms dog, Diesel, turn up £1,000 of hidden cash.

This Pitbull bullshit really pisses me off any dog breed can be aggressive not just Pitbulls/Pitbull type dogs its the people not the dog not every dog that looks like that should be taken away. If they are aggressive regardless of breed they should be taken away or muzzled but other than that just because it looks dangerous shouldn't make it dangerous

Nicole Wolf The problem is an aggressive pit is much more dangerous. Than a normal dog once their jaw locks it will never let go. They are experts at killing once in a fight either to protect who they love or to fight in a ring. It’s sad they are exploited by criminals in the UK maybe one day it will change till then. Keep ur killers away.

That dog is so beautiful. He had such a puppy like temperament and just wanted to be loved on. It's not a pitty's fault it is considered "dangerous," it's the fault of the humans who discovered they are massively muscled beasts and decided to use that to nefarious means. They are trained to be violent and fight, not born that way. They're just born muscle-y.

I've always had German shepherds and when I sold my house in one state to move back to my home state as I missed my grown kids too much. I had to live in hotels for few months trying to find a rental that was shepherd friendly. I cannot afford a house in my home state. Literally over 100 calls and a chunk of money continuously paying for applications til I finally got a call by my current apartment complex. Living in hotels is very expensive and due to not wanting to blow my house profit I was preparing to sleep in my car. I refuse to own any other breed. All is well now

They are very much bred for aggression. Just like police dogs are bred for a certain aggression and courage. Temper is a criterion for selecting breeding dogs - both in a good and a bad way.
Pitbulls and other breeds like that need a complete clean slate, via responsible breeders. For all I care, they can go extinct.

If this dog had to be put down it’s really heartbreaking but I blame the owner if that had to happen. He knew PB are banned in the country and he got one anyway. Yes in most cases it’s training that makes them vicious and for the most part are sweet. But there are always exceptions. 2 rescue pit bulls that had been temperament tested, deemed safe by “professionals”and adopted out attacked my sister while she was sitting in a chair reading. They were both at her feet and she moved her foot and the next thing she knew she was attacked. She will have issues walking the rest of her life. Mind you she had spent a month with these dogs and they knew her. Sometimes you just can’t tell what they will do…

    • @johncspine2787
      @johncspine2787 5 месяцев назад

Nope. They literally “are” born that way. Pits have lived for years and suddenly snapped and killed their owners, or strangers, it doesn’t matter. Aggression against humans is bred into them, whereas most domesticated dogs have had that wild aggression bred out.

Dogs carry genetics & instincts that they were bred for.. when you breed dogs for NATURAL dog aggression and fighting traits, those genetics carry on to future generations!! I've always had pitbulls myself. And most of them have been totally fine with other dogs. But, I've also had a few that hit around 2 and decided they no longer wanted other dog friends.. Thinking "it's all how you raise them" is the BIGGEST issue we have in America! EVERYONE wants a damn pitbull & then they act surprised when the dog matures & rips up another dog for running up to it... They blame the pitbull, call it a "bad dog" and put it down🤦 when it's the other owners fault for letting their dog run up to it.. they are great dogs! Just not for everyone

rats arsed That's the owners fault not the dog's for any human aggression. Any dog with a shit owner can get out and kill/maul a kid and it happens more with other breeds of dogs, pit bulls and rottweillers are the only dogs I've seen get specifically named by breed when something happens. If a dog gets out, it's the owner's fault for not properly securing the property. If the dog causes any harm, it's the owners fault for not teaching the dog properly. If a child is playing in the back yard and something happens to that child and it's too late for the parent to help, it is the parent's fault, espeacially if there is an unfamiliar dog next door that gets bothered by people walking past. When you own an animal, you are responsible for *everything* that can happen, as it is your job to teach the animal as well as keep it secure, to ensure nothing bad ever does happen involving the animal you are keeping. There is no excuse for a dog's aggression towards anything, except for poor training, no matter the breed. You could say the exact same about german shephards, which by the way have been recorded jumping a fence and thrashing children like they are toys, I've also seen more aggressive labradors, yeah those big cuddly look cute things with the most gentle mouth ever, than I've ever seen aggressive shephards or pit bulls.

As you know, the difference is that Chihuahua bites most likely will never kill you. 65% of fatal bites in US are due to pitbulls (Including Staffies). Dogbite.com. Majority of UK bites, same. This isnt including the bites to children and others that aren't fatal, also predominantly pits. I have known sweet pits but there is a known danger (which would include Rotties and a few others, just smaller numbers of owners of those I suspect because they eat more). I think owners need to be more severely punished for bites. Had a friend + her dog mauled by a Mastiff Pit Mix. Horrible.

In Ontario Canada where I live, some years ago someone in the Ottawa city council decided that ALL pit bull type dogs were public menaces, and had to be banned from the city. Some criminal types had been using their pit bulls as assault and murder weapons. There was even a case of a couple training their two Rottweilers to attack the neighbours down their apartment hallway. One of those attacked people died. The city council was made to see reason where the Rottweiler breed was concerned, but anyone with a pit bull, or pit bull cross, had to either move the dog OUT of the city boundary, or turn it in for euthanasia. This has caused a great deal of public upheaval, because NOT EVERY PIT BULL IS A PUBLIC MENACE. Also, some folks think that the wonderful Stafford terriers are pit bulls and there were some hard feelings between the owners of those dogs and members of the public who felt it was their duty to report the Stafford terriers as pit bulls. People can be such scrag ends.

Also not fond of chows or German shepards, or damn chihuahuas, and only slightly distrusting of poodles. Worse I got from a pittie is a slobber and allergy attack from the lump, who was very sad he couldn't cuddle. But people do train them to be bad, so unfortunately and sadly there need to be some regulations in check. As much as I do love the breed they get the short end of the stick.

Kevin Kozlowski Because of the genes. Pit bulls were originally bred as fighting dogs. As such, when fighting another dog, the human would have to be able to pull them apart without fear of getting bitten. As such, while pit bulls were originally bred to have dog aggression, they were not bred to have human aggression and any dog that was human aggressive was culled (aka killed). The police force can use them as police dogs but that would typically be for tracking or detection work.

I could've been bit or worse since I'd have to kneel infront of the dog's face LOL But I'd gladly no prob sit infront of a german shephard(and have) or pit bull fit them for a lead, harness, slip collar or muzzle xD

But usually, the people who buy a lab, are not the kind of people to do this.

I’m actually ashamed to live in the UK
Not all pitbulls are like that, they could’ve been brought up as a fighting dog then abandoned for all they know. My dads friend has a pitbull and I walk them 3 times every week and they are honestly the sweetest and most loving dog I’ve ever met. Not all pitbulls are fighting dogs. That like saying all girls love shopping or all black people are dangerous
JUST BECAUSE SOME OF THEM ARE LIKE THAT DOESNT MEAN THEY ALL ARE.
And they’re not even on the list for most violent dogs, they’re like 20th!

    Ok,
The "dangerous dogs act" is DEFINITELY a law that needs to be changed!
There are better ways to control dog fighting than imposing the death penalty on the dogs themselves.
It's the dog's owners that should be penalized.

There dumb pits aren't fighting dogs there the Same yes some fight buts it's only because the owner it how they train them people It can happen with any dog I don't like that most people think that and I quote "she wouldn't trust one as fare as she can throw one and there not pets but fighting dogs " come on people if I was the queen or whoever decideds that I would let every one have one and if they are caught fighting the people would go to jail and the dog would go to school and would be thought to be nice and now I'm a American and we're I live the one state were I live they are illegal also you don't care if they are put down come on

Pit bulls are the second reccommended in the family dog list, it’s the owners that make them like this, for example if you had a sister, and your parents hated you but your sister didn’t, and as you and your sister grew up, your parents spoiled your sister, your sister would start to hate you too, she would take over her parents, it’s the same with a dog.

This comment section in a nutshell: I'VE NEVER MET A PITBULL THAT WAS MEAN THEY'RE ALL REALLY NICE WAAAAAH.
If you put a potentially dangerous dog in a dangerous environment, there is a good chance that it will become violent and act aggressively, leading to this sort of thing. Be honest, pitbulls aren't built like chihuahuas or poodles, they are EXTREMELY powerful dogs and if you put that dog in an environment that reinforces negative behaviour, they can be deadly.
Yes, I know #NotAllPits and all that crap but I can't really blame authorities on taking a strong stance on them when so much can go wrong.

    • @jaegerthedane3245

Maddi Simmons It isn’t just that. It’s also all about genetics. If a pit bull dog is born to two parents that both or one of has/had a history of aggression then chances are that the puppy will turn out the same. I love pit bulls, but even I know how dangerous they can be whether it’s the human’s fault or not.

StarFighter2000 I only wish there was some kind of temperament judgement to be made on the dogs they seize to determine if they can be kept by similarly checked out owners. There could be licensed or they could do something similar to what they do near my home, dogs identified as pit bulls have to be muzzled whenever outside. It’s not ideal but it’s much better than euthanizing them for their breed.

pit bulls are my favorite breed of dog. It is not their fault that they were bred this way. because they are dogs, they so not get to choose what there life gets to be. Pit bulls can't even lock there jaws... they just have a tight grip. in the 1900'd they were named the nanny dogs. they were ment to take care of children. They are protective and loyal to there owners. They might my taught to harm people or dogs but that does not mean that all of them are dangerous. Please learn to respect them. they could be just as dangerous as your own dogs.. it not there fault.

i see the pit bull apologists have had their time here, it never ceases to amaze me how people are so willing to protect a dangerous breed that has been *proven* to be dangerous. What sickens me more, is that these very same people are always looking for ways to excuse the dogs actions, such as falsely claiming that a kid was antagonizing or that the owner was egging them on.
Back in 1998 we had two kids(not mine, neighbors), seven years old, who were mauled to death by three pits. At the time we had an idiot for a police chief who loved pits so the dogs and owner never prosecuted despite the pits constantly getting out and attacking people, this incident however made it to where the dogs were finally put down. Sadly, it took the death of two INNOCENT CHILDREN to do so, but of course the pit bull apologists were right out there in force trying to slander the kids by claiming that they had been throwing rocks or some other kind of nonsense. Thankfully there were enough witnesses out there, as the kids were on the opposite side of the street and thus no where near the three dangerous dogs.
Sadly this is not an isolated incident, at least here in the states, dozens of children are killed each and every year by pit bulls (in fact, more kids are killed by pits than by any other dog). I get that they can be loving and very loyal to their owners, however, when it comes to strangers that is hardly the case which is why they are considered a very dangerous breed to have around. I for one do not care about the breed one bit, but then again, I've been attacked twice by a pit when I was younger and had my ass saved by a stranger who shot the dog that was trying to maul me (still talk to him to this day) oh and uhhh he also owns pits but unlike the pit bull apologists he actually understands how dangerous the breed is and understands why people don't want them around.
Perhaps in time that will change, where the pit bull apologists will finally get it through their very thick skulls that you can't keep making up excuses for why a dog does something and realize that the dog has to be held responsible.

Because too many of those ppl ONLY have experience with 1-2 pitbulls in their life and they think because the ones they've met are great, that's just how they ALL act🤦 I personally love pitbulls and I'll likely always have at least one in my house for my entire life. But, I've also had enough of them to know they aren't just these big cuddle bug, couch potatoes some morons try to paint them as... And that way of thinking is what has created the big pitbull problem in the US.. these dogs WERE created and bred specifically to fight other dogs!!! It's a natural instinct/ genetic trait for most of them.. I've had many that I raised indoors with other dogs & they LOVED other dogs. Until they hit about 2ish and decided they no longer wanted other dog friends... I'd never worry about a pitbull attacking a person or any of my kids/neice nephews.. but, if a neighbor's dog got loose and ran up, yes, it would likely get eaten... It takes training to make them HUMAN aggressive!! Unless they're just unstable in the first place.

I think that those who own a pitbull and are training them to fight, should be arrested. However, if the dog is dangerous, as in it's bitten, hurt or killed someone, then it should be put down.

That’s not fair. That dog should not have been taken away from its family. Taking away a dog from its family is terrible in my opinion, no matter what breed. It’s like ripping a piece of your heart out and throwing it into a shredder. And pits are actually known to be, if trained the correct way and treated with love, a “babysitter”.
