I am related to him and have met him at family gatherings more so when I was younger. He is an entity even amongst our family. Legendarily known, immensely talented and surely a beautiful person inside and out he is purely a national treasure to our family but also to the world.

Saw him 1 week ago in concert. Mixed age revved up audience. He killed it. He still has that incredible silky voice, hit the high notes and then has those light eyes. My, my, my. He's gracious, kind & appreciates his fans and the life he has. Actually 5 of us had "Family & Friends" backstage passes thru his daughter Tamla b4 the show. We took group photos with Smokey & then they had just me & him take pics. He had his arm around me so I got to see him really close. He does look great and a handsome guy at any age. I loved it as it brought me back full circle 60 yrs. of how his songs, Motown & other music artists affected our lives. Definitely mine. He stays fit, meditates & hasn't eaten red meat since 1972. You can tell I'm 77 as I was impressed how he could crouch down on his knees & gets up singing/walking without a groan & without pulling up on a table. HaHa. If he has Botox, a face lift & a weave to keep him looking as good as he feels...that's fine by me. I would do the same thing if I could. As a performer that sings love songs & moves on stage..being fragile & using a walker just wouldn't have the same effect. Because of the lights, they did put more make up on him b4 he changed clothes & hit the stage and that was an overkill as now he looked more chalky where 20 minutes earlier he looked healthy & alive. Thank you Smokey and keep on being you, sharing your amazing talents of writing songs, recording, touring & blessing our ears with your sweet, buttery voice.
I've seen many a Smokey interviews and this was by far one of the best. Sherri you kept it fun and informative. I learned/heard a couple things I didn't know. What an amazing human being. You two were great together. Keep it up!! ❤
