I felt like Dax until I saw a video of a young man sticking up for two women on a bus get stabbed in the throat by a psycho. You never know what danger you are really putting yourself in even when you are doing the right thing.
That's part of being a man. You put yourself in danger if it keeps women, and children safe. If you allow women or children to be in danger and you do nothing you're a useless coward.

Kristin is right. Being willing to act to help others is great, It's just important to know when it's necessary. Like stopping the car when a drink is thrown at the window. It put both of them in an unnecessary and unpredictable situation. Glad he's trying to find more balance his reactions.

I slammed on the brakes and left my car blocking the major intersection with my date screaming at me to let it go. This guy was on the phone arguing with his girlfriend and didn’t notice me sprinting after him as I slammed him down on the pavement with a flying elbow to the back. His phone went sliding down the payment in front of him as he jumped up and tried to pick it up…but I quickly pushed him back on the pavement. I went to hit him…but he just screamed he was sorry over and over and looked like he was having the worst day of his life fighting with his girl. Oh, also, the "Let it go" joke, and dumb $hit like that... it's infuriating to listen to all of you interrupt for 3rd grade one-liners. It's maddening.

A friend of mine broke it down in military terms, 'infantry loves a tank when they need a tank, but just before something pops off, nobody wants to be anywhere near the tank. The problem with people in general is everyone gets a pass instead of being confrontational. Immature as it may be, stomping someone the f**k out for bad unnecessary behavior prompts restraint frome others in the future from acting the same way in fear of repercussions. Force is the answer sometimes.
Sometimes is the key word.
Good on Kristen to have such insight into his thinking and to know what to say . She cut through the hart of the situation. Not expecting to come away with that from a flagrant video about fighting.

When my husband and i were first dating, he always got in fights. It was usually to defend my honor or bullies too. I know it's not good to fight and can be dangerous, but secretly i thought it was so sexy. I felt so safe around him. Once we had our daughter though it started to scare me and i told him he had to stop. He did. He grew up a lot after she was born. Thank you for stepping up against bullying, not all of us can kick peoples asses 😂
I'll tell you right now 100% Dax lies about his fight stories. He said he couldn't remember the plane fight story that akash was talking about. You don't just forget about fights, especially on a plane. I've been in over 40 fights outside of a ring/cage and I can remember every single one. The only reason Dax can't remember "that fight" is because he made it up and doesn't remember the lie.
Really I've had lots of fights but I often forget them till someone brings it up or something just makes me remember like being in a certain place or area
He's also a recovering addict, and as one myself, I can tell you your memory takes a serious hit. Ive been told stories that are significant that Ive had no recollection of.
He does a TON of stuff, and you have a limited amount of memory capacity -- and as others said, he's recovering from the "sweet stuff" -- so it's not surprising in the least that he would forget some stories. Plus, it sounds like he had a TON of anger issues and was willing to pick fights with just about anybody over anything. Kind of really puts into perspective his character from the movie Hit & Run, as it seems to have been closer to his real life personality than I thought.
Did his story make u feel like less of a man 😂
@Billy-bc8pk guys look, I can understand the drugs and having vague recollections of a fight but yall aren't paying attention, Aakash is telling him to tell the story meaning he's already told it to him. I've heard hundreds of fake fight stories and Dax seems like a super cool dude but I 100% believe from experience he's embellishing and/or fabricating these stories.
Omg I’m just like him about bullies and almost all my fights were with bullies and some really funny stories. Once on a train a guy and his drunk GF were being so obnoxious with mouth from the train tracks that passengers left to find other seats. I’ll spare the detail but I walked up and politely asked them to just pare it all down and took off my glasses put in my coat. He stood up and I smiled he said he was going to off me, I smiled more and he sat down. I was ready to go but when I turned to go back to my seat, this is the funny part, there were like 3 or more other dudes behind me ready to back me up as they say, one had a scarf wrapped around his knuckles…I thought it was me but I guess he saw the soldiers at my back. I laughed so hard, security came and took them off. You had to be there I guess. Fortunately for the guy, I didn’t have to resort to my basic instincts that day.
Now Dax Shepard is a tough guy.

Dax was so good in "Employee of the Month"
Kristen says she doesn’t like that behavior but, she chose him and that’s how he was. A lot of women tend to choose men who don’t fit in with what they say they want.
She wants to know he has it in him, but then “tame” himself for her.
It's funny because when shit hits the fan, women hope their man has it in him. The goal is to make sure they don't have to "hope", but that they know. You don't have a chance to appreciate something until you need it.
