      I think it's great! So many people wonder about the quality and reliability of a car. One thing to note is to maybe move them lower into the whiter portion of the background. I know you likely made the font black to differentiate it from the pricing. It is still visible but it makes the black font pop out more.

      The problem with these cars when they age especially the Dodge RAM as well is that the small things irritate you. The engine starts clattering, the window switches fail in the middle of winter, there are weird check engine lights coming on and off intermittently. Don't get tricked into buying a Chrysler product even though it's designed eye pleasing.

    Great review! We bought a 2020 RT Blacktop Edition (used) with 3,500 miles on it for $41,500, so there are definitely some good deals out there if you look around. It is fully loaded with the technology group, red-leather interior, adaptive cruise, etc. We wanted to get something to tow our new 24' RV with and my wife did not want to drive a traditional truck so the Durango fit a great niche as a daily driver for her and a tow vehicle as well. I know that your "hot topic" question asked what possible purpose a traditional V-8 crossover could possibly serve in today's world of hybrids and electric powertrains and I would just say that there is certainly a demand for this type of vehicle judging by the sales numbers. Charging stations are still few and far between in the midwest (especially when you are heading to some remote camping locations) and a smaller hybrid engine simply would not have the towing power of a traditional V-8. We have absolutely loved our (nearly) first full year with our Durango and are looking forward to many great adventures ahead! Thanks, again, for the great review! This was my first time to your channel and I made sure to hit that "sport" button :)

    C) decent mileage for ad big as it is.
    D) great towing ability.
    E) love the styling.
    Negatives:
    A) why haven’t they fixed it’s bad small overlap crash results?
    B) it’s expensive for an 11 year old platform.
    C) it’s time is limited

    Excellent review, folks. Congrats. As you note in the title the Durango is often overlooked in the midsize SUV category. And if fuel economy is even a mid-level priority there are better choices. But for those with serious towing in mind, the Durango can't be beat. Even the new Grand Cherokee L with a 7200 lb tow rating can't come close to its Durango cousin with its 8700 lb capacity. You're certainly correct in implying the Durango is a dinosaur whose existence depends on drinking the remains left in the ground by its ancestors but that's the price of dragging a family home around behind your vehicle. And it does a better job of being a daily driver than a $100K recreational vehicle.

    FYI I just got a 2021 Durango R/T with the Tow n Go which gives a lot of SRT type pizzaz to the R/T for a bargain price … the sticker was about $66k and I got it for $55k which did include a friends and family on top of regular incentives and dealer help. We traded a 2017 and use it to tow our 23’ airstream… it tows like a much larger truck. Very pleased.

    Thank you for doing a domestic vehicle review, I love the honesty its the best part of your reviews. Have to say I agree with 99% of your review, especially closing up that sunroof! One minor nitpicky point when you introduced the comparison vehicles in that segment you mentioned the Explorer ST at 365HP, I think you were thinking of the older generation Explorer Sport at 365HP, starting in 2020 the new generation Explorer ST 3.0L V6 Twin Turbo is standard 400HP.

    What a lot people don't get when they talk about larger changes in styling it that it immediately reduces the value of their car. Like Apple computers, you want them to hold their value. What you don't want is the value of your very expensive purchase taking a huge drop in resale price simply due to a styling change long before you're even halfway through paying for it.

    11:35 smaller turbo engines are all a lie. Forced injection creates a LOT of heat when you need power. Those modern engines have a LOT of plastic parts inside that melt under that heat within say 5-7 years. That's why European cars drop so much in price after only 5-6 years. You are saving some gas to shave off like 8-10 years off a vehicles life. What's more polluting? Burn fuel or scrap a big car prematurely? I don't know. You can't have your cake and eat it too. It's just like "recycling" lie. Go watch documentaries about that. You are polluting MORE than you know.

    • @krane15
      @krane15 3 года назад

    Chevy Tahoe and trucks have electrical issues. Always one 'day running light" burned out. Had a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee----a piece of junk. Paid $55k, had ABS, transmission issues and warped discs after 8 months. Was recalled after I got rid of it after 8 months for problematic warped discs. Love my Dodge Durango. Only had issues with Lithia Motors. They inflated maintenance issues, recommended unnecessary costly repairs that proved to NOT be needed after going to another dealership. Do NOT trust Lithia Motors.

    So true. People don't really want "electric". I'd bet if Government didn't bribe people with tax payer incentives you'd see much less interest in electric vehicles.

    4 cylinders and V6 engines sound like crap. My wife has a 22 Durango R/T and we added the MOPAR aftermarket exhaust, and it sounds so good. All the tree huggers need to stop worrying about smaller engines. They do not get much better fuel mileage, and the smaller engines have to rev to outrages RPM's when under load. The electric vehicles are just another waste. The cost to mine the material is not sustainable. Creating giant craters in the earth is not very green people. China will benefit from the electric cars. We have enough fossil fuel for hundreds of years, but the liberal tree huggers keep pushing for electric vehicles with Zero infrastructure to support it. Guess who does not want to wait for an hour to charge a car,,, me and my wife.
