This was my favorite day so far as if it was just for me. I’ve questioned God’s love because of the evil in the world and the tragedies in my own life. However, I still seek Him. I want the truth.
Gods answer to why he allowed evil to exist is Jesus on cross. You will have true joy and peace if you also accept your cross and become like Jesus on cross. Try reading “making sense of suffering” by Peter kreeft

I think "I believe" are the two most powerful words in Christianity. Once you believe, and believe in your heart, the beauty of God begins to reveal itself. Ive been a Christian my entire life yet only started to believe in the last ten years or so. Happiness hasnt eluded me since.
What I've learned: 1. The Search: Despite everything man, though, but a small a part of your creation, wants to praise you. You yourself encourage him to delight in your praise, for you have made us for yourself and our hearts is restless until it rests you. - Augustine. 2. One of the ways of knowing God is through the human person: through our hearts, our desires, our experiences, our minds that reveals that God exists. 3. We are created with a desire for God. God draws us to Him. Thus we search for God. God meets mankind through Divine Revelation. Faith is man's response to God. 4. The dignity of mankind is found in God. Here is where happiness and truth is found. Mankind is born out if God's love. The search for God by mankind makes us religious beings. 5. Sin causes mankind to stop seeking God or find happiness is other forms. 6. Question the existence of nature and it's beauty and you'll find the it can't explained without a Beautiful Maker. Man comes to realize of a first cause and the end of everything, a reality that everyone calls 'God'. 7. The truthfully discerning man will find that faith and reason comes together as God reveals Himself to him. 8. We need to be serious in our desire for God. No half-heartedness. We need to cooperate with God's grace as He reaches out to us. Here is where I struggle much. Perhaps, this year is another chance for me to cooperate with God to make wrong things right. Remember: God loves you! Prayer: Dear Lord, give us the desire to know you. Reveal your heart to us. Help us to be open your love. Help us to open our hearts to you. Amen.

The word "evil" is the absence of God... that word turned around is LIVE :-)
11:24 "...or they'll say, well, yeah, I know God loves me. But I mean he loves everybody. That's not, you're not wrong. God does love every person he's ever created."
Romans 9:13 "13 As it is written: Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated."
Listening again 1 day at time 🙏
This series is amazing. Thank you so much father Mike!

I see the sky I hear the rolling thunder. Your works throughout the universe makes clear God's existence. God is beauty, God of varieties. But above all he loves ME and longs for my love 😮 amazing stuff

Thank you Jesus. Thank you Ascension Press. Thank you For Mike. Thank you Mr Jeff. Paragraphs 29 & 35 have given me an answer to a problem in my hands. I have prayed for about 2 years and now, today, I have a guide on how to handle it.I pray for the grace to handle very well for the good of man and the glory of God.May God bless and protect Fr Mike as he cares us on the CIY journey.
Lord, You are our beginning and end. Our hearts are restless until they rest in you. Thank you for providing so many ways for us to know you are real. Help us to grow in intellect and not ignore, reject or be complacent in your call for us to know you personally. You created us out of love for your love. You know us each by name. Give us a sound will so we don’t have two minds competing for how we live. Grant us the grace to have upright hearts - the action of being people of character. May we surround ourselves with others who encourage us in our faith and witness us growing and walking in it. 🙏🏻
Father Mike, you have a beautiful gift to teach, I love the highlights you add after you read the lesson. Thankyou my prayers are offered up for you daily…..
Wow how reach is the Creed we profess. "We crave God there is such a thing as God. Our hunger in each of us reveals that God exists."
Thank you Fr Mike for this great evangelization
I needed this today. Thank you Father Mike!
May 2023 be a year year for all of us, God has each and every one of us.
So grateful for this every day
“What then shall we say to this? If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, will he not also give us all things with him?”
Romans 8:31-32
I prayed with a lady who told me she felt God had forgotten about her. I told her if that was true, she would cease to exist
Day 4 - Tiny LIKED - @ 02:50 'We have both the desire for God, as well as ways of coming to know of God" .... .... Now it is for me to use both of these inherent gifts in me to develop the intimacy with the Living God //// @ 08:28 'Their beauty is a profession" ..... The harmony in the entire nature speaks of the Creator around , only the will of man , i feel, often upsets that harmony .....////@14:12 'To hear the truth, to know the truth, to walk in the truth, to acknowledge the truth' ..... really appreciate the various stages in our dealings with the truth /// @ 15:15 'Your car doesn't need to exist . It is contingent .. It is not necessary .. It's existence is based on something else' .. Entire creation is contingent ' .... Superb way of understanding , the contingency of our existence ....Lead us oh Lord AMDG
Amazing God thank you fr Mike so helpful 🙏 👏

From Japan.

Day 4❤-amen
God loves us because we exist is hardly convincing evidence
Who made us? God made us! He loves us, all of us! Thank you Father Mike and God bless.
I sobbed so hard today. I’ve been following along since the introduction dropped (2022), printed out the reading plan, and started preparing by reading the assigned text the night before. Paragraphs 29 and 30 broke me. Especially hearing them in your discussion, Fr. Mike. Working on turning a heart of stone into a heart of flesh this year. I have the listeners, Fr. Mike, and those teachers who worked on this project in my prayers.
God bless you father
i tried to do bible in a year but i ended up failing and just stopped so for my new years resolution i am going to try with all of my ability to keep up with Catechism in a year and i will try to restart bible in a year. thank you Fr. Mike for making this and bible in a year, please i ask that you all pray for me i will try my best to pray for you.
The same with me. I have tried BIAY for two years, and I am on my third attempt and follow up with CIAY. Praying for you and I and all of us following Catechism in a year. Gratitude and prayers for Father Mike Schmitz.
Am I the only one who thought that Fr. Mike was going to offer a clarification as to why he says, "Man, oh man!" at the beginning of the program?
Thank you for this blessed study of the Catechism! I went through the Catechetical Institute a few years ago and this is an excellent refresher!
Bless all of you at Ascension in this coming year and we are grateful for this community of prayer in God's love!
You are not the only one. And what about "Oh my gosh!"? 😉
I think that being from Minnesota Fr Mike has certain idioms that he uses. He also is full of energy.
Thank you so much Father Mike with your help through the Grace of God.I understand the Catechism so much better. I look forward to tomorrow for day 83.God bless you and all people of the world.💖🙏🏻
I was not ready for this day to end! I wanted the discussion to go on. This going to be a great year. Praying for you Father Mike!

Dia 4, amen 4! Seeking THE Lord’s grace❤
2:42 "...our own minds reveal that God exists. And so we have both the desire for God, as well as ways of coming to know God."
16:33: "There's something in us that questions there must be more because we have an appetite for more. C.S. Lewis even kind of highlights this. He says, 'You have hunger, Well, there's such a thing as food.'"
I have an appetite for catching all the Pokemon in my backyard, but that doesn't therefore call into existence Pokemon into my backyard.
Pokemon are only in backyards in Japan.
Ok, Padre, this better be good!! 😊
Thank you 🙏🏼
