- Boxing's Welterweight Champion Terence "Bud" Crawford is the latest guest on the Last Stand Podcast with Brian Custer. Crawford talks about his career during the pandemic, a possible Errol Spence Jr. fight, what he feels about PBC and top fighters and who he plans to step into the ring with next.

@@yellowlac1 First of all, Bud sent Danny a $3M offer and Danny turned it down to go face Adrian Grenados for 1M and no belt. Also, Danny beat Bud when they were kids. When they were older Bud beat him, but who cares about Amateurs? They are both in the big leagues now and Danny HAS PROVEN TO WANT NO SMOKE.
People have forgotten that Pacquiao team has offered a fight with Terence Crawford years ago and Crawford said Pacquiao must come down to 140 lbs or no fight. He actually commanded the cash cow and legend. lmao And then again Pacquiao team offered Bob Arum a fight before he went to PBC but Arum turned down the offer because Manny was asking 20 million and he didn't want to invest that much with Terence. So indeed when Pacquiao was in Top Rank, Terence has multiple chances to fight Manny.
My theory is that Terence Crawford is a passive guy who is posturing as the most feared guy, but in truth he is just so contented with fighting tomato cans with a good safe pay. Actions speaks louder than words, this is why he chose to sign once again to Top Rank. He is hiding in a promotional company.
What you forgetting is they wasn't tomato cans when he was coming up. They became that after being out classed
Red Cloud I dunno about any of that other stuff but I also remember Terrence insisting every time he was asked about Manny that Manny come down to 140lbs for him.
Everybody, including Crawford, seem to conveniently forget that part of the story.
It's also true that Bob refused to make the fight the second time when Manny wanted R20 million guarantee, which would have been more than fair for Manny.
The truth is that probably after Manny destroyed Bradley in their rubber match Arum feared that Manny would destroy Crawford too and didn't want to make the fight.
I agree 100%. Crawford is all bark but he really has no balls fighting the real top dogs. I am itching to see Pacquiao break his face and let him get a good reality check 😆
Manny should have just went down to 140 and got that 20 million dollar bag. All these boxers be postering! It's the business side casual fans need to understand. It's not the fighters. This isn't fight to the death matches. Money and the fight being beneficial for both fighters is what make the fights happen. They fighters none of them are scared to fight. Worse that can happen usually is they lose and get a fat bag in the process. They risk their lives everytime they get in the ring. It is possible for you to like other fighter's and not have ti Hate on Bud! Nobody ever has fought nothing but good to elite fighters every fight rite out the gate. Except Lomachenko. And that was only because he fought in the amateurs for so long.
The HATE for Bud out in these streets is serious!!!!! I'm a student of this craft. I just want to see the best match up against the best. EJ, Bud, Pacman, I follow them all. No biases. The pandemic will affect the gate, and the fighters themselves are fully aware of this, and they're not taking these fights for less.

Amir Khan right now would beat Yordenis Ugas on points. Ugas is a pillow fist with a 39% KO ratio. Two losses to Amir Imam and Emmanuel Robles. Already beaten by Khan in the amateurs.

I like Bud Crawford he is a great talent however it's puzzling when you hear him trying to justify his Welterweight opponents. Horn , Benevides, Mean Machine and Khan are not at all great names in the Welterweight. If you put them in with one of the Top PBC fighters they would all get KO'D. The
fact is his opponents have not fought anyone of status before they fought Crawford. FACTS.
You can only say that for 2 out of 4
Bud is a top fighter as well....and they got KO'd vs him. And Amir Khan is just as good as any opponent they have faced. People forget before getting caught by Canelo.....he was severely outboxing him for 4 or 5 rounds. Bud solved that riddle early in the 1st round. Had him looking for a way out by the 3rd.
Horn had just beat Manny, he was Undefeated. Benavidez was Undefeated. Eg Kav was a 2x Olympian & Undefeated and was his mandatory......Bud stopped all if them and maybe lost 2 or 3 rounds at best total of those fights combined.
Point is.....HE DESERVES a shot at unifying with Errol....the mfer he's been calling out, who won't fight him but you trying to throw salt at Bud for not fighting mfers coming off loses....
“Yeah, he got shot in the leg...” Bud, a real one would never utter such nonsense.

Bud is my #1 p4p cuz he's on his 3rd division, been undisputed and ain't even had a close fight. Ppl say he ain't getting the fights cuz he ain't on PBC but he's already fought PBC guys and Gary Russell Jr been calling for Santa Cruz for 3 years and ain't got the fight and they're both on PBC. Errol called out Thurman, Garcia and Porter for 2 years and finally just got Porter they're all on PBC. It's all up to the willingness of the fighters to step up at the end of the day and some of these guys just don't want it!
He havent got the fights because he under contract with TR. Bob Arum aint shelling out no big money for the PBC guys. Plus Arum dont wanna risk his top guy against the pbc TOP guys, unless its errrol. Even though i think crawford beats danny, keith and shawn.

You mean porter Thurman Dsg all fought each other Spence was begging for title shot with all of them an he’s been a champion since 2017 an got a unification in 2019. Spence fighting Thurmans leftovers, he already beat porter & Garcia.

I love Bud!!! People forget when he first hit the mainstream radar he was out boxing people.. Now that he is knocking people out, and maybe getting hit a lil more than others people are starting to question how good he is... I think people fail to realize Bud could win boxing matches with just skill any time he want, but Bud comes for your manhood!! You going to have to have more dog in you than Bud to beat him, and I dont think many if any can do that!

Laying an egg in the ring is now considered great. Calling a fighter great as a reason to shit on another is very honest and genuine, too.

Bud isn't the one duckin fights with those guys. Bud has sent offers over to some of the top PBC WW's they turned them down. Haymon made sure they got paid well with other options. Crawford was bullshiting on that PBC/toprank question. Im not in the boxing business and already know its issues with big fights being made with Bob Arum and PBC. Plus... they're making more money and getting better exposure at PBC/SHOWTIME/FOX. Al Haymon is an advisor... so the boxer gets the promotional contracts...thats more money for you. And he said..nobody's fighting their mandatories... yeah... cause they're fighting bigger names.

Bud should just go back down to 140 or even 135 and demolish all the young guns coming up. All the guys he's about to fight are at their absolute lightest weight possible... Bud moved up because his lightest weight was too easy and he was getting ducked, but now there are getting to be a lot of big names at 135-140.

horn bullied pac and the referee allowed it and even then pac should have won the fight he needs the judges help to win. just compare horn face after the pac fight and crawford fight? horn was hospitalize after the pac fight. khan he did on the nuts to slow khan down then hit him again to make khan quit. bottom line is crawford will always be critize coz he didnt fight anybody at welter till he fight keith, porter, garcia, spence forget about pac pac can fight berto and still get the same pay.
