Great video.. my grandfathers brother was part of the No 1 independent company, its a disgrace how the Australian government abandoned them.

It truly is! There are so many of us who feel a deep loss over events in Rabaul & the loss of the Montevideo Maru- something that the government of the time could never have perceived when they made that cowardly decision to abandon so many men to their fate!
