Fun video man, Powderhorn isn't too far from Cedar City, I'll have to check it out. That looks like a heck of a fun beginner trail, it does seem a bit high speed for a green - you guys were hauling. Your video looks great, what FPS are you normally filming in?
Thanks dude! yeah... if i was willing to drive 3-5 hours in colorado, there are the main bike parks... but Powderhorn is so close! so..... i accidentally filmed a little bit (mostly riding with HornsHigh) in 120fps........ completely cropped in the angle. Then the rest I usually film in 4k 24fps Superview. I like the 24fps because it gives a natural motion blur.... and makes it kinda like how you'd see it if the viewer was the one seeing it on the trail. Cheers!
Seems like a Green/Blue, seems like rolling the features (like a new rider would) would keep it a green. Putting big berms on a green is actually a good idea. When I went to Trestle I did end up having to go down Green World on one lap due to a temporary trail closure and my thought was, I can see why they have problems with newbies crashing and getting hurt on it, none of the corners are well bermed, there are few features, and it is easy to get going way too fast, causing a new rider to panic and grab a handful of brakes.
Yeah...pretty funny that a lot of greens don't have bermed corners 😂 I would almost agree with you on the rolling... But it's pretty steep and could get out of hand real quick (especially for a 7 year old on a bike that doesn't have XT 4 piston brakes 🤷🏼♂️😆)
If they could just a few longish tables to that trail it would be great! Beginners can still ride up and over, or learn to jump without committing to a gap. 👍
Am I being too critical of Powderhorn's trail ratings? 😬 In talking to several other riders, the general consensus is that Ramble-On definitely takes a "blue square" effort 🤷🏼♂️😂 Sorry P-Horn!
Looks like "cyan" to me.. I'd say the thought process behind rating it "green" is more like "bike park beginner". Meaning, it's designed to get a rider used to the speed of park DH, more so than, a trail designed to take an inexperienced family on. 🤷♂️
Chump MTB - I can see that.... and I would probably give that to them, if it weren't for the other green trail, Mutton Buster, which has the same rating and rides like a true beginner trail.... lol don't hate me!
Hey man awesome ride. I’m wondering if you’re using a gimbal or is this hyper smooth with boost. I’m filming my first park ride soon and would really appreciate the info. Keep up the awesome work!
I think most of this is just the GoPro hero 8, 4k Superview Hyper smooth (not boost), 24fps. I down res it to 1080... Because it seems like RUclips struggles with processing 4k
I've ridden that trail and other Powderhorn "green" trails. Definitely not green. Some small sections that drop quite steeply and quick, I would call single black that are on the green trails. And calling it loose is an understatement. Some areas are flat out sand. Definitely fun trails though.
