She does really have a beautiful speaking voice, I feel like it’s prettier in English than in Flemish because I was taken aback by it and I’ve heard her speak Flemish many times
i know her from the hit Zoutelande with the dutch band BLOF wich became very popular in the Netherlands(where i life)

Geike is such an elegant presence, she is stunning
Belgian here: what they did to the previous singer Luka was actually really shitty. She found out she was kicked from the band in a zoom call. She's a young girl and performing at eurovision would have made her career and they took that chance away from her. Alex Callier is full of himself and nearly no one in our country actually respects him. I applaud Nikkie for being able to stay calm and collected and trying to involve Geike in the conversation when Alex kept japping.
The way Luka became the lead singer was really off too. She was a contestant in the Voice, where Alex is a judge, and he immediately became obsessed with her. It feels really predatory because she was a minor back then and there is this huge power imbalance.
All in all, he’s a really weird guy. And not in the fun way
I don’t respect Alex in a person, the only respect I do have for him is a musician, he writes great music but that’s where I draw the line

I don't fully agree there. During the corona pandemic we all communicate by distance unfortunately.
On a positive note: they gave her the chance to start a career (The Voice and being part of Hooverphonic for a few years)
@@grambi This band had not been social distancing during rehearsals. And even if that was truly the case, it's not like there weren't ways to tell her in person. It's shitty. Once again, there's a reason they switch singer every few years. Alex's ego and arrogance gets in the way of everything.
Also let me ask you this: have you heard of anything Luka has done after being kicked out? What songs has she written? What music videos has she been in? Have we heard anything from her at all? No, we have not. Instead it's been all about hooverphonic. Let me tell you I laughed with utter joy when I heard the points we got from televoting because they didn't deserve any more.

@@Wortelloo Hij is heel vol van zichzelf, en hij besloot om de vorige zangeres Luka te ontslaan via een zoom call. Hij is voor de een of andere reden ook jury bij de voice in vlaanderen ook al kan hij zelf niet zingen. Deze band veranderd bijna elke drie jaar van zangeres omdat alex zo moeilijk is om mee te werken. Gewoon echt geen aangenaam persoon.
tbh nikkie deserves 12 points for her interview skills! she looks so comfortable and it's really entertaining to watch.

@@hydrocharis1 no its a known fact geike is not a talker in interviews, she has actually done a lot of talking during these. Even when she was solo she has been shy. Granted yes Alex can be a pompous ass, but its not actually him as to why she isnt speaking as much
seriously for NPO (Dutch broadcaster), please consider giving her (Nikkie) a TV talkshow of her own similar to that of Ellen deGeneres or Graham Norton.
That would be epic. Now that Ellen quit/got booted, Nikkie taking her show and transforming it. Even when she disliked her encounter with Ellen herself. :D

Would be lovely if Alex let anyone else talk for like more than a few seconds lmao, I would have really liked to hear more from Geike. I really like their song and I think Geike is a fabulous vocalist but I can’t shake the memory of the men’s attitudes towards Shine a Light last year…Alex doesn’t come over as particularly humble and that’s just not my jam in a person. I really hope they qualify however, I think the song is fantastic and it’s a real breath of fresh air in a competition with so many songs in the same genre (not that I have any issues with the pop songs, I love those too).
it's a common secret that he's arrogant but still can't deny the fact that this man is so talented. i think he's many times over the limit but still i support him as I'm a big fan of them.
Also Geike is very shy outside the stage but once she's on the stage everything changes. Raymond on the other hand is comfortable around specific people. Probably depends on his mood.

I've seen other things from her. Shy people don't automatically become less shy if people around them are more quiet, they're still shy even then. Also, he would've joined shine a light if the money earned from it would've gone to Covidn he didn't like the fact that that whole show was about covid on the outside, but profit on the inside.

Hahaha I have a feeling people misinterpreted his comment in the past. In Belgium, it’s very common to have people say Eurovision is like a circus but even though he had a dinner with his friends on one of the Eurovision finals, he still wanted to watch some performances in the bathroom. He’s actually a very big fan 😁
