I thank you for this video. It made me think differently about the song and the privileges I have and for those who are of the global south have it hard it times. I know of friends from different parts of the world are struggling to find work and be able to send family to join them in Canada. Yet amidst all that God is still good to them and we can walk alongside each other through our struggles.
"And God saw that it was good". The 1st book of Genesis tells us God's creation is good and whether we sing this song or not the word is still the truth. And yes God is Omnipotent and we need God's perfect power. Also David wrote, "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever" (Psalm 23:6 KJV). Here is another scripture, "No one is good but One, that is, God " Mark 10:18.
Honestly i will rather sing the Song the Goodness of God everyday mins and hours rather than Taylor Swifts Doja Cat and Sam Smith's songs , the reason why that song is written to be heard by those who lacks and dont see what they need to see ..if youre only focus of the blessings not to the one who Bless nothing will happened , why question the song of God's Goodness if we can ask Him what we need to know beyond His Goodness and grace ..
hi. The video was not a critique of the song - that is a good song. The critique was about our western culture that needs more self-awareness of their privilege (which includes me) whenever they sing this worship song. Peace to you my friend
