Man... Mary had so much swag, soul and passion! I remember all the girls in high school wanted to be like her. She was truly the voice of a generation! We were so fortunate to have these moments back then and didn't even know it.
Came out in 92 I believe. Which is the year where the sound was transitioning from what we know of the 80s to what was to become in the 90s. Transition was complete in 93. This happens every decade.

Those we're some good memories bc we bonded over music and is the reason my musical taste is so well rounded!
Mary killed it. She's one of the handful of artists from that era that can actually sing live. Her unplugged is fire. She purposely tries to sing it like the album cut that made her famous. I appreciate that alot.

Mary keeps it relevant, real, but private at the same time. She leaves me wanting to know more about her story, if you get what I mean. That’s a good thing. That’s why she’s special to me.
