Thats actually funny. He spotted 3 SCVs mining on one patch, which is obviously very inefficient at that point. So he wanted to move it to a different patch. How ever he misclicked the mineral patch like 3 or 4 times. Which is why he went back to it so persistently. He wanted to micro the reaper but kept having to go back cause he failed to fix his mining :D
I actually imagined Phelps with "six time the lenght, triple-jointed arms" making his way through water mass like if he's a frickin' paddle steamer. Hillarious...
Kinda feel like this game showcases Skillous skill more than Clem. Skillous is clearly the underdog here but he was straight up about to win the game if those widowmines didn't hit at 15:27 . I'm a sucker for an underdog and I know that Clem is a beast, but skillous is also a fantastic player and has been in the game for a long ass time, he is one of the few protoss that sometimes qualify for the biggest tournaments (IEM Katowice 2024). It made me happy to see him do so well against the gargantuan beast that Clem is.
Actually minimal damage from widow mines if you look at what they hit and what damage they inflicted (frame by frame and count the number of stalker before and after). It was 3 stalkers with half health and no shield, nothing else. Skillous even separated those targeted stalkers from the rest of the army so he wouldnt be splashed (and third stalker walked to the separated one on the ramp). Despite Pigs reaction, all air was killed by vikings, if anything with asistance from EMP (mothership and both carriers got hit by EMP 4 seconds earlier, one carrier had maybe 10shields, but other carrier and mothership took full 100damage there) Its just that he was completely countered there by terran units... Stalkers is countered by marauder if they dont have zealot meatshield in front of them and other than that he had colossus, carriers and mothership army, all of which is hard countered by vikings with basically no chance of survival if you dont have stalker based army to screen for vikings, which stalkers cant do effectively if there are terran ground units and no zealot to tank for them. The moment Skillous lost zealots he lost the whole fight. I think he could have won if on 15.13 he warped zealots instead of stalkers. Because then it went downhill fast. His air was already on the clock against viking DPS since the beginning, those were just dead. Stalkers dont have good DPS, so he didnt have force to push up ramp. He lost half of his army HP in 15:23 to EMP because stalkers clumped together with air on top. He took around 1100 damage in that moment (you can also see how he tried hard to dodge it with blink, but EMP projectile is so fast that I think I have never seen a single instance of someone successfully intentionally dodge it with blink). There was not much left to fight with anymore. With round of zealots instead of stalkers he would have more DPS and HP to maybe push onwards and that EMP would hit either stalkers or zealots, but not both, then he might have had a fighting chance. So no, he wasnt there to fight for win if those widowmines didnt hit, he was already dead. He would fight to win if EMP didnt hit or maybe if he warped in zealots instead of stalkers.
Anyone who can make Serral look easy is terrifying. (I know this isn’t a Serral vs Clem game. I’m referring to the best out of 7 earlier this year where he 5 v 0 Serral.)
I know I'm going to be a bit of naysayer but I feel like having 2 probes pulled to stop a proxi, only for it to do literally nothing, then losing 2 probes + mining time. The fact the game lasted as long as it did surprises me
Hi @Pig, Clem actually put is engineering bay in the command centers groups since quite a long time ago. I know it because I copied him. But I do not like it. The issue with that is when you make a new command center on location, that you want to center on this command center to create a FXX view assignation, if you double tap the command center group it will instead jump in the middle of nowhere because of the engineering bay being in the group, and not center on this command center as expected, so quite annoying...
i mean, its always been super obvious to me how to beat carriers. you just need to kill the enemy army without losing your own. simple. idk why thats so hard for some people to grasp /s
I know that they can tweak the random delay, but I'm not sure if they can change how it fundamentally works like that? I think it'd be a pretty fine change tbh, might make bunker rush cheeses a bit more reliable but as a qol change i wouldn't be offended
I understand that people feel like it is unfair when you look to how Clem can micro that well and win games that most can't... Just like Serral and Maxpax... However it's not good for the game to try to punish people to be good at the game... Is it truly unfair to train as much as they do and be unstoppable? Even if it's some biological strength that allows for them to be that good, is it unfair to develop your strengths in life? Too often people envy such skills and put the blame on the (un)balance of the game. I think it's not healthy and it's not good for the game.
exactly... balance should be done around "how difficult it is to do this, that etc." not around "how current pros given current state of balance score in tournaments". This is equal to fighting for "equal outcome" but really it should be "equal opportunity". No other race requires so much micro (and so percise). Neither Zerg or Protoss need to do anything remotely as difficult as splitting bio vs banes or disruptors, sieging 3 different units (tanks, mines, libs) etc.etc.etc. MaxPax shows that even pre-patch you could beat Clem with Protoss, nothing out of ordinary, they're like 60/40 for Clem which is fine
@@geuros I agree! It's hard to define how hard things really are for different races that have such different play styles and potential to do weird things. For example... people talk about how op Ghosts were and then the mass overseers suddenly started to make it really really hard to snipe lurkers and deal with the constant flood of changelings. SC2 is a dynamic game of creativity, strategy and skill. Thats what makes it fun. Imagine if instead of waiting to see how Terrans deal with the overseers we just make it weaker... It makes the game boring.
@mathiaschaves7604 yes, also people saying ghost OP but the only player capable of making them look the way is Clem. Anyone worse, including Maru, still loses 0-4 to Serral on previous patch. I've seen Harstem losing 10+ ghosts when he tried to snipe lonely lurkers sitting behind spores on the high ground. How do you expect me, a 4k Terran to be better than that, honestly
@@geuros most balance whiners dont even play the game. They played a few silver games as Toss 7 years ago and now hold the opinion that ghost OP. My own opinion is we need to increase the skill expression of Toss in particular before we give it buffs (e.g. the viking damage point buff)
Keep it up wee Man, hard work and humility is the key to victory, you know, don't let world champing get to your head, respect everybody, and be graceful in actions as it befalls to French genetic heritage, otherwise.. keep that pot washing job alternative in the back of your head ;) you walk the path of victory but be weary, it's a narrow one.. and.. there are no rng gods. depends, Clem reached a level that no-one ever did. Now if he kept that for 5 more years he would surely surpass Maru, but balance council will make sure that does not happen because we need to punish Terrans for being good. No problems with Zergs winning everything previous 10 years
@geuros I agree that Clem's TvZ and TvP is a level no one's ever really seen, but he's never really beaten Maru in a TvT that mattered alot. When that happens and if he can keep it up for a few more years Clem will be the Goat Terran, and if he wins another World championship or two you coupd make the case that he's the Goat of SC2
@malekiththeeternityking5433 well he started dominating even TvT, he's regularly beating ByuN and Oliveira. Seems like what he needed was a bit of calmness and self-confidence, which now translated into TvT as well. Let's see, Maru however fell down in his abilities somehow
Not sure. Maru has always only dominated in Korea. When EU rose thanks to Serral and Reynor, Maru dropped off. His style of Terran even had hard times against Solar, so I don’t know if Maru is still considered the GOAT of Terran.
Oh wow you are saying tier 1 marines can't facetank tier 3+ capital ships with a specific "Colossal" tag that gives them glaring weaknesses? Both Thors and Liberators have splash damage to destroy the interceptors, but they do not start with M so they do not go into the only composition terran seems to be able to use.
2:21 This man has time while attacking with his reaper to go home and MICRO HIS SCVs?? He is made of different stuff

That was an epic game, and great commentary PiG!
Best Terran right now!
Unbelievable, how clem survive to that scary attack with mother ship, carrier and colossus wow
I don't think many players would survive that attack let alone turn it into a win after.
great vid! watching the pov of these freaks of nature with the analysis, cool idea

I believe engis were always on cc command group. I’ve copied it from him and I never forget upgrades any more😊
Idea for he council: Make terran workers o% rng and let them build wherever they want. THEN rebalance around it. It would be much easier.

yeah but without any mech upgrades and only 1 factory it's really hard to transition into that unless you were already playing mech

I say this as a zerg/toss but dang. there really is nothing in this game quite like marine micro
He is so good. Would be so annoying to play against. Why is Byun more fun to watch?
Going colossus into carrier isn't a great strategy. Vikings counter both.
