I don't think EU will let this slide... By the way, practices like this is the very reason i dislike Apple and i don't want to have anything to do with them as a consumer.
It wont happen in europe, the reason why apple were forced to used ubs c was to allow people to use same cables for all devices, if they install a chip thats the same as use lightning it makes no sense, no way it will happen in europe even though i dont care much to be honest i will never use apple, they could actually have a port that only apple would have so nobody else could use it would be a favour for everyone lol
😂they don’t care about the environment every changer not added to your iPhone box means more boxes made to hold their charging blocks meaning more trees getting cut down 😂
WOULD defeat the purpose, but this guy lies to get views. Only the regular models will get a modified PORT, that is capped at USB 2.0 speeds just like lightning. Regular Type-C standards start at USB 3.0. It means that, nothing will improve in the terms of data transfer speeds, but you will be able to use any Type-C cable. The Pro models will get a better USB 3.2 port. Most people will not notice the difference, but it will make the Pro models more appealing. Think about it logically. iPads have Type-C a while ago, and they don’t have the restrictions this guy was explaining. If it were true, iPads should get this restriction as well. Apple couldn’t explain that, it would harm their reputation and their position in the industry. This move would deal more harm than profit.
What is baffling the most is that apple already have usb-c in some of their products from Macbooks to ipads so them not wanting to add this to their iphones just shows the level of greed & control that they have.
@Reese B You clearly don’t understand that the entire stock market is no longer based on profitability but rather companies which need financing which is why our market is rather passively quantitative at this time. Apple can absolutely include this cable
I’m deep into the Apple ecosystem but Apple’s money grubbing practice’s over the years and how they hold back features on my IPhone’s have me seriously looking at switching over to Samsung.
I was starting to feel like that but in the opposite direction, because I wanted that extra battery life iphone had. Well, not anymore with the s23 ultra closing the gap in battery efficiency. That and now this crap with usb c. I was gonna spring for the usbc iphone but if it's like this definitely not.
@@hobosnake1 Same here, with the release of the S23 Series there's no longer a reason to switch to IPhone, you won't lose out on anything anymore by sticking to Samsung.
I mean, Samsung does have a lot of good offerings. Definitely consider the impact on your ecosystem, but if your like me and a lot of smart home devices or need a laptop to travel for work, Samsung is definitely best. Especially with DEX. Apple definitely makes it harder than it needs to be to use anything but Apple products

Thank god samaung brought snapdrsgon to the ultra this year. Ive switched. And wow! I can make so much more now. Dex gaming console emulators. Keeping this.
i bought tabs8plus with sd gen1 for mobile gaming but im kinda disappointed that developers couldnt care more to optimize their games for tabs8plus which has powerful chipset. theres visible high ping on moba games every 5secs and theres delay on Call of dutymobile. samsung must also pay extra to these devs so they wont just roll out generic support for all devices. ive had the device maybe over 6mos it now support ultra high resolution but once you move it to low. ultra high wont be accessible anymore.over the past 6mos still theres high wifi ping problem every 5secs which my ipad pro doesnt experience
8 gen 2 for Dolphin, Citra and EggNS/Skyline emulators is great, can confirm myself. I'm getting a solid 60fps in pokemon Sword, Legends Arceus, Mario Odyssey, Mario Galaxy at 1.5X native res (Skip Efb turned OFF, unlike most yt videos) and galaxy2 same. BOTW next :)
@@orangea9458 i used to have emulation on my older android devices just busy to put it my tabs8plus. i only play 1 hr max on mobile games hope devs optimize those games i play for tabs8plus
Even if the new snapdragon gen 3 is gonna destroy the a16 you have the a17 I just don't care the phones are plenty fast Samsung needs to work on camera and optimization at this point and more efficient chips aswel I don't care if the a17 bionic is gonna be the king at some point who cares I just want a easy to use phone and that's Samsung regardless what the green bubble Nazis say I give them this 🖕and fuck Apple lol
@@Dicklefart Not really i think, since lightning cable are already in so many places, whereas USB C Apple license cable can only be found in the apple store or places that sold them. people may not be able to use ANY brand that sold USB C cable anyway if it is'nt licensed by Apple. If they really are gonna stubbornly use license for the USB C, it would need a few years for accessories to be made and available around the world, it means when IPhone 16 came out, i don't think their accessories are that many yet to choose from. most people would stay in iphone 14 or have iphone 14 as their second phone if previously they were using iphone with ligthning port
Almost switched to an apple phone on my last upgrade but then I remember how anti-consumer this company works and changed my mind. This just makes me feel better about my choice.
@@Nichodo I decided to keep my samsung for the time being. I'm sure they all have anti-consumer practices, but apple's seems far and away the most egregious. I'll have to shop around for my next phone and decide on who is the least awful.
same i used iPhone 13 pro max 1TB then switched to Galaxy S23 Ultra 1Tb and was planning to change back to apple with iPhone 15 Ultra but now i might upgrade to Galaxy S24 Ultra 1TB instead
I think Apple is slowly going to bleed out from actions they have taken in the past year or so - if this rumor is true. Does anyone think cable companies won't find a way around this?
If they had done it with lightning port then they will do it again in usb c . But then have to use apple compatible cable on other devices and see if those devices will work on that cable
companies will just buy the certification or the blueprint from apple. this is how its done when you buy any certified lightning cable from amazon or other brands and im sure same thing will happen here
There are cheap knock offs that work. Been a while. They will be there a week after apple launches a new cable. You’d be surprised at the apple knock off products. My friend bought AirPods Pro and showed it to me. I already had a pair so I was like yea cool. He was like it’s knock off. The funny bit is the iPhone showed it exactly as it shows AirPods. They sound great etc I’m sure there is a lack of many features but here’s the funny bit, the cost of the pair was 20$. Then I check Alibaba and Aliexpress and there was a range of it all from 20$ to 50$. Point is, cheap knock offs are way more common and way more deceptive and enticing now. Don’t worry. I’m an apple user but fuck ‘em.
I don't know why there are so many customers still loyal to Apple when they are so anti-consumer friendly. They lack updated features and are late to the party to give them 'new' features. And then they do this unnecessary, money-grab crap. That's why, to this day, I've NEVER been an Apple customer. I'm glad Samsung is the complete opposite and leader when it comes to offering more value to customers.
I'm not an Apple user but here's why I think why they have so many loyal customers. 1. Irrespective of which phone you use (Android or iOS) 90% of consumer is not tech savvy, all they need is a phone which can get their work done, especially in today's day and age most people want to click good pictures and videos, such consumers don't care about lack of features. 2. Speaking of lack of features, you won't notice the feature is missing unless you have used it before. For example, last month, I asked one of my colleagues to use T9 dialing feature instead of searching in contacts every time you want to call someone. And guess what that colleague had no idea T9 existed in his phone, and he has always used android. There are many people like him who are not aware about such small but useful things. 3. Some people see owning an Apple phone as a status symbol, which in my opinion is ridiculous, so some people want to ride this train and buy the phone. 4. There are few people who buy multiple products like iPad, iPhone, MacBook etc. and get stuck into their ecosystem. By this time, they've invested so much into buying Apple products that financially it doesn't make sense to switch.
As a true Apple customer i can tell you some of us keep buying iphones just because we like the build quality. For me the stainless steel frame makes it feel premium and i like the IOS experience, other people might like for something else. Im not too worried about the rest of the features that Samsung offers because i just use my phone for social media so i prefer the luxurious feeling and look of iphone rather than Samsung for amazing features that i wont use. Both companies are the best in their owm thing, impossible to say which is best for public bcz it all depends how you use your phone and what you would like to have in your phone for it to be the best for you.
@@SunGkd123 you might want to add some points there since the way you pointed it is very misleading. And just as a suggestion: iphones are not and never were status symbols. You can get more expensive samsung phones? If its about being expensive - buy them. 5. iPhones are more durable - I still have an iphone 5s thats working perfectly fine 6. iPhones get the newest software for far longer than andoid devices - they usually get like one major android update, then 2-3 years of security patches and thats it - so if you want to be up to date with the newest OS version you dont need to buy a new phone every 2 years 7. iPhones are far far far more powerful - so they do not begin to lag as early as android devices do 8. iOS is a far more robust operating system - never had a single crash or something in years while i can hear coworkers with the same android device talk about in which situations their devices just randomly turn off 9. iOS apps are way higher quality because the app store guidelines enforce a lot of rules and every single app or update gets individually reviewed by apple before it can be released 10. this one is pure preference - but iOS is way more intuitive imo just 6 points i quickly came up with. and i bet if i spent a few more minutes i could go on and on. Literally the only thing andoid devices are better at are customizability which i really dont care about but if you do thats fine And android device manufacturers are more experimental for example with folding phones. Apple would never release an unfinished product like samsung did with the first folding phones but if you like stuff like that- sure go ahead.
@@SunGkd123 you’re missing 1 point. Nothing transfers from Apple to Android. If you change systems, you lose all you’ve purchased from the other. I hate the argument “oH iTs A sTaTuS sYmBoL” because no it’s not now a days. Plenty of people think Apple’s trash, and they’ve come out with nothing new. The only thing that keeps their grubby claws hooked on people is how easily they could lose everything digital they’ve kept on their phone. Photos, you may be able to back up, but songs? Videos? App games? The vast majority of those don’t transfer (those that do have their own in game way of doing so.) The rate of Apple users leaving to Android will increase, mark my words, especially with Apple doing nothing new lmao. Would help if phone carriers started selling those pretty epic, if not so slick, Gaming Phones. Lots more RAM and storage, plus pretty nice cooling methods. Really wish AT&T (my carrier) would carry the ASUS one personally.
I don’t think the government should be allowed to tell you what type of charging port you’re allowed to put on your phone. As long as it’s not causing cancer, the government should stay out of it.
At this point I'm just happy that appel didn't received any money investment from me , and I'll keep it in this way for very loooong time. Back in time, when it was iphone 7, my friend suggested me be careful to jump into apple ecosystem, so I'm glad I listened to him.
It will most likely not affect charging (disable charging without the chip, there is the provision against that in the EU law) but it might affect the usb-c connected accessories or data transfer speeds.
For a moment I thought no intelligent human being was present in this comment section. One overly dramatic RUclipsr makes a trap video and everyone falls for it. Typical android fanboy nonsense. This has been the case with lightning cables since its release. The phone will charge. But won’t communicate with whatever is on the other end of the cable. Thus significantly reducing the risk of data theft and malware injection. Something the entire android ecosystem (does it even have one) is in desperate need of.
Samsung and every other phone maker has the option to do the same thing, but chose not too. I personally do not care if they put in a chip. The charging speeds would still surpass what iPhone currently has.
Personally I’d respect Apple more if instead of adopting and kneecapping USB-C they just go fully portless and rely fully on wireless solutions like Qi chargers and their own MagSafe. Apple actually adopting USB-C only to impose restrictions on it just shows cowardice on Apple’s end. The fact that they don’t want to remove the charging port like they did the headphone jack shows they really don’t care about innovation unless they can establish market control on a given technology, and it’s clear they don’t believe they can beat Qi Chargers with MagSafe the way AirPods dominated the wireless audio market.
Idk what peoples issue with lightning connectors are. It really doesn’t make that much of a noticeable difference and actually a lightning port is more durable than a usb-C port because the usb one has a frail little tooth in it. Also I have way too much usb-a so whenever I have anything usb-c it’s annoying because I have to dig up cables, for no advantage over usb-a or lightning. I also think that the chip for usb-c is a good thing because third party cables crippled my mom’s iPhone 4 or 5 or maybe even 7.
I’m not really an apple user but i do have an ipad pro 2021, which uses usb-c (the last ipad pro had was i think 2017) and i thought at that time that apple finally changes to usb-c ports for their gadgets, so when i bought iphone 13 , i was surprised that it still uses lightning … and here i thought i can just use my ipad cable to charge, and now because it didn’t come with a plug i need to swap the cable when charging😅
The thing I don't understand is that every year when the new galaxy comes out, I always see many people comment that it's better than iPhone, Samsung has more value more features less restricted than Apple etc...and they will buy it or switch to Samsung, but everywhere i go in the US, i still see people mostly use iPhone. I barely see someone with the Galaxy. This makes me think the comments from RUclips, Facebook, and various platforms are not real. Someone please explain.
I don't think apple can do that with usb-c considering the protocol have to follow guidelines from the consortium. And even if apple managed to do this, it will sure back-fire at them. Maybe they are intentionally leaking these details to know market reaction.
I don’t have battery drain issues on my iPhone 14 pro max. Now my S22 Ultra has horrible battery life. Screen on for 2 hours watching RUclips, 50% battery used. Junk
@@davidsteckley8846 Meanwhile S23ultra outlasts iphone 14 pro max in watchin yt-battery drain tests and does almost as good in normal battery drain. And there is light mode that gets you even more sot time (dont mistake light mode with battery saving mode as they have similar results but they are a little bit different)
Seriously, they tell me where I can place apps. I like a simple home screen with my apps at the bottom. Oh, I can use mp3s as a ringtone. Android is a playground of opportunity.
Hmm… either you control the smartphone, or smartphone controls you. I’m using both, android and iPhone and I can tell you it’s fam more efficient to use iPhone. Unlike android that has so many features that tries to be PC but it’s not, and let’s be honest, many people are using only 5% of all the features… iPhone is a great tool when combined with Mac computers. Something android is far behind. Camera you say… I’m a photographer and can make way better photos with 15yo DSLR😅 I’ve been using Samsung note series for a long time and it’s a beautiful piece of equipment. But in my opinion, it’s too big to be a phone, and too small to be a usable tablet. Transferring files to pc or mac is is nothing compared to an iPhone.
@Bruno Dadic iPhone is great when paired with a Mac? You don't say! Dslr cameras are better than phones? You don't say! Comment of the day goes to you sir.
i traded my ipad pro to s23u and once mymoms ipad died there wont be any apple products for us anymore. id buy thin laptops that would run mostlikely all mobile apps i used on mobile phones and tablets
I am a samsung fan and I couldn't care less but laugh at people who keep buying apple products even after their shitty decisions lol. ✌team samsung ; waiting for my s23 ultra
I dont see how thing truly hinders anything. Like yes i get it, its a anti-consumer power move. But all this article implies is that it will limit accessory compatibility. Now obviously on the full dark side apple can say any non apple charging cable wont work. But in my experience even samsung cables will charge ipads and macs. Most cables bought at a walmart or online work with iPhones. Even janky 3n1 plugs work with apple and i highly doubt those things are mfi. My point is that most things will likely be compatible anyways if they came from a major supplier, which is where i assume most owners of cables would have gotten them from.
And the eu law is targeting charging standards, not data speeds or accessories. So itd be stupid of apple to prevent iphones from accepting a charge from any *compliant* type c cable. Because a defective type c cable that doesnt comply to safety standards shouldnt be sold regardless of brand But data transfer and accessory use is fair game and is inconsequential to the eu. Most iphone users dont use accessories with their phones other than say aux adapters or selfie stick type things. So i really dont see this hurting anyone. Realistically it only affects ppl buying cables from 99¢ store or cheap sites like wish/alibaba and their cables dont work. At worst mfi cables that come in the box from apple or from big brands like anker are the ones that work.
Apple fanboys deserve all that's coming to them🤣. You should always be open-minded and ready to explore. But apple mafia is just something else🤣. Iphones barely have any sort of features to match what androids like Samsung and xaomi are doing. E.g- multitasking, file management, third party apps, spen or other cool gestures, a well done always on display, and AND TYPE C😄.
fans never asked to give USB-C for fast charging, our iPhone battery life is great already, neither do we need fast data transfer because we haven’t even thought of using it, since we have airdrop across all of our devices. EU are now our problem
@@Loveline-TV apple doesn't have fast charging. Ever heard of 45 or 120 watts. Yup, didn't think so. Apple fanboys still at 20 watts and thet about 10 years behind android in terms of feature. I know I said I was done with apple after purchasing the 13 and then bought the 14, but I am done with apple for real now. Pre-ordered the ultra 23. Moving on.
I think the Lightning Cable is stupid. But I really hate the idea of government dictating which products are available down to charging cables. That's outrageous
Okay so, here's the thing. I believe that certified cables with that chip will charge the new iPhones normally but normal type-C cables and bricks will be able to charge the iPhone as well. So I think that the phone will be chargeable by any type-C cable but it will pop up with a warning saying that the cable is not Apple certified and would probably charge the phone slower. This would mean that the user will most likely buy an Apple certified cable for themselves but would not have the inconvenience to be unable to charge in an emergency from a friend or if needed elsewhere. What do you think? This makes much more sense to me.
That could possibly be how they execute this, that makes sense to me. It's really bad and scummy and makes me confident in my choice to not switch to iphone though.
The whole idea of mandating a universal standard was for consumers to use a single cable (which they already have) instead of buying multiple cable types and bringing them everywhere they go. If what the video states is true this makes the standardization redundant as it means iphone users with still need to buy new charging cables if they want to charge their phones in reasonable speeds (not to mention the date transferring issue).
@@manatabg123698745 yes they do and that's the point. Apple said "will comply with the law". they never said " u can use iPhone with any USB C cable". they found the loop hole and used it 🤣
I think iPhone will allow universal USB-C chargers but if not approved by apple, it will only charge by 8~15w. But if apple approved cable and an Adapter it will then go to 30~55w of charging speed.
I love apple but still gonna try out the S23 Ultra. Just have been with Apple since 12 PM was released and hated apple before that. Learned to love apple and how smooth everything is. Superb things like airpods pro 2 it's like oh my gawd. They are truly amazing and also liked the 14 PM which I'm currently using. Used android since day one but now need to try out if it's any better and also the foldables are coming with Android. If apple releases a good foldable like the Z4 I'm on it. Had the Z4 and didn't like it at all. Poor cameras, bad battery and also the ridiculous small front screen. If the Z5 fixes all those issues I might consider for a foldable again from Samsung.
I had the fold 4 didn't like it at all. Hated the small front screen, also didn't care for the crease and the measurements are so wrong. I want to use it for movies and RUclips but my 14 pm is the same size on RUclips. Just purchased the S23 Ultra and had if for a few days. Well it's a good phone but really don't like android that much anymore. To much tinkering to get everything right. And still it's not were i would like it so sold it and went back to 14 PM again. @@jevonsims900 Nope, it's just that people have been using apple products since forever, so they can't just leave the "ecosystem" but google and Samsung's ecosystem is just as good if you own all the prodcuts
Easy answer, we’ve built an ecosystem around it. My phone, my tablet, my earbuds, my television, my smart home….all Apple. All of it works seamlessly together without me having to understand how any of it works together. That’s why people like Apple. Changing it now would involve changing most of it, and the biggest drawback….learning how all of the new stuff works and learning how to integrate it with everything else. Finally, say what you want about Apple, I’m a fan of their commitment to customer privacy. This is the same company that told the US government to screw-off when they couldn’t unlock the iPhones of suspected terrorists. Now while I’m not particularly concerned about my phone, I am concerned about the security of the HomeKit cameras and sensors I have throughout my house.
I just hope i can get on with the android system because apple are now being law breakers to con us faithful users. I think the only way apple will back down is if people refuse to buy the equipment. Money is all Apple care about i wonder what Steve jobs would think if he was still with us.
Androids have come a long way, especially the S23 Ultra. If you do photo editing on the go or are interested in smart home tech, android is light years ahead. Camera's are on par (if not better in many instances), charging speeds are better, hell you can even use your androids as a wireless charger for your headphones. Just be aware of the impact on your ecosystem as Apple tends to not play nice with Google
@Benjamin Jagun not really, it's about how you use the phone. I've used an iPhone before (had to for work) and I was just continuously frustrated with its limitations. My smart home is a prime example. If I used apple home or its ecosystem, most of my smart home tech would be useless (or very limited). I have smart bulbs, smart lock, smart Strips, Roomba, doorbell camera, etc. I prefer the camera on the S23 ultra, the battery life is very close to the iPhone, it charges fast, and I just have options when it comes to what I want to do. I absolutely hate the apple keyboard, layout, charging speed, Siri, and just how much it forces me to not use tech that exists in our day-to-day life (or worse, paywalls technology that's been out for decades). An iPhone is great if you want a good phone that tells you what you need, you don't care about the latest and greatest tech that much, and you want a good (but) closed ecosystem. If you see your phone as a computer and love new technology, and want a great ecosystem that you can decide what you incorporate, then Android is for you.
@Benjamin Jagun maybe go back and re-read my comment and stop putting words in my mouth. I literally outlined an iPhone user as someone who doesn't care if they have the latest and greatest tech, but want a good ecosystem. You reiterated that, then called me ignorant for saying it 😂. It's just a phone, chill, it's not like Tim Cook is gonna tug you off if you defend the iPhone
If you buy apple you have to buy everything apple sucks I knew apple would do this oh let's own the cable by making apple certified usb C port and cables
This would mean you cant buy dac amps now for iPhone they have to be apple certified now WTF apple glad I am sticking with open source Samsung fuck this sit regardless the bullshit that Samsung did with the headphone jack this is gonna put a monopoly on basically you can't use this it's not apple certified oh sorry the charger maybe a good brand charger but it's not apple certified I think the isheep need to wake up lol or else they will be buying cases that have chips saying this case is not certified by apple only certain you know where this shit is gonna go lol All things you buy for Apple have to be certified that's it if you have a gan charger this will be a fuck you to anyone buys this bullshit but they suck it up like eating a pussy lol
I'm totally okay with this... I used to actually be a nice guy and keep a specific Apple cord in my car for friends trying to be nice yet explain this as a reason why they should change to send a message to Apple (just like the Samsung users should not put up with some of the crap they have done to us like no microSD card) Anyway good luck with charging your phone if this is the case. No way I'm going to keep trying to get a cable and charge my friends. Maybe I'll power share but beyond that I'll let them suffer and make the switch to Android. I personally hate how each manufacturer is trying to wall each user in their ecosystem. I'll "nope" any friggin manufacturer if they follow Apple or Samsung. Hopefully someone like Taiwan Honor phones will be popular or Sony can get its act together. I've kinda given up on Pixel bugs. Their phone never seems to be beta tested, I feel like Google is making us pay to be a tester
iPhone users are just dumb they don't even realize what apple do with them dumb people pay 1800$ on a phone with features that can be found on 750$. Apple is that company who doesn't care for anything neither for nature nor for their customers they don't give a f*ck they just want to make profits.
I know I will sound like an Apple fanboy but I don’t care at this point. It’s the same as the lighting port, yes that much is true but it gives you a piece of mind knowing that the cable won’t damage your device in any way.
Seriously to all the apple buyers here why just why. The Galaxy S23 is so much better in ever single way you just can't be dumb enough to still buy apple! Tell me here why you would but apple!
Like I am a android user and I never hated Apple. But this is such a stupid discussion. I was so happy to hear that they were switching to type c but they made it sodat it has to be a caple from Apple. Super stupid
Actually this isn’t accurate. Greg Joswiak actually only said that they would be ready and comply. That isn’t saying anything as for as Apple is concerned. Another thought is that they’ll simply ditch the charging port completely, as the EU says all charging ports must have usb-c. But if there’s no charging port…? 🤷🏿♂️ See where this is going. They already have the MagSafe charger in their lineup ready to go and no additional costs. Removing the charge port technically keeps them compliant while continuing to maintain control. And if anything, they’d profit more using only MagSafe as their exclusive in-house made charging solution 🤯🤯🤯
I think apple should be able to use their own cable. Theyve had lightning long before USB c went mainstream in Android phones. Mainly cause I think lightning is better designed than USB c, idk about speeds but just the design of it is more durable, since USB c is a female cable the port inside the phone can break
So what is the benefit of an android user for iPhone to have usb-c plugin?? I see so many people here going emotional over this. I’m an iPhone user and I’m still using the same charger over past 5-6 models. Unlike android, who had to switch from different variants of usb cables.
Tbh apple is the victim here, their public response not too long ago is actually very logical, I used to support usb c iPhone but because of the argument apple put out I am in apple camp now
Not defending Apple here, but with the rumored possibility that USB Type C ports on iPhone might be USB 2 speeds and some cables might not even work … How is this any different than the already existing mess that is the USB Type C ecosystem? You already can’t tell what the port supports by looking at it, and there have been videos posted here on RUclips showing that - even between Android devices - charging can be hit or miss.
I work at a phone store and usb c ports typically don’t last long before they go bad so I’m happy with my 14 pro lightning it still charges super quick too
I think this is correct with the chip making sure that only accessories Apple approve will work with the iPhone, But they will allow charging at basic speeds with any UBS-C cable. This will abide by the ruling and still keep apple their control.
The problem with usb-c is the same as with usb-a different companies have different diameters (wider / narrower), libeling generations (blue, black, orange, red etc tip colours). Besides isn't that just a law that is straining free market and progress of future connectors?
I don't think EU will let this slide... By the way, practices like this is the very reason i dislike Apple and i don't want to have anything to do with them as a consumer.
Well they comply, don't they. So EU will not be able to say anything. This is one of the reasons big government is bad.
Apple is a master to be snicky
I hope something happens to make apple not limit stuff
It wont happen in europe, the reason why apple were forced to used ubs c was to allow people to use same cables for all devices, if they install a chip thats the same as use lightning it makes no sense, no way it will happen in europe even though i dont care much to be honest i will never use apple, they could actually have a port that only apple would have so nobody else could use it would be a favour for everyone lol
Same here 👋🏾
Apple: we care about the environment
Also apple: we refuse to switch to a cable that the entire planet uses
EU: I'll be the judge of that
Consumers: Yay
I almost liked this comment but realized I would have broken the 200
😂they don’t care about the environment every changer not added to your iPhone box means more boxes made to hold their charging blocks meaning more trees getting cut down 😂
Lightning is a nicer cable, no weird little “platform” in the charging port that can break of
That would defeat the whole purpose of the new law, so I doubt the EU will let that happen. Let's hope Apple doesn't get aways with this bs.
You can’t keep getting away with this you can’t keep getting awayyyy with thisss!

That and now this crap with usb c. I was gonna spring for the usbc iphone but if it's like this definitely not.

5. iPhones are more durable - I still have an iphone 5s thats working perfectly fine
6. iPhones get the newest software for far longer than andoid devices - they usually get like one major android update, then 2-3 years of security patches and thats it - so if you want to be up to date with the newest OS version you dont need to buy a new phone every 2 years
7. iPhones are far far far more powerful - so they do not begin to lag as early as android devices do
8. iOS is a far more robust operating system - never had a single crash or something in years while i can hear coworkers with the same android device talk about in which situations their devices just randomly turn off
9. iOS apps are way higher quality because the app store guidelines enforce a lot of rules and every single app or update gets individually reviewed by apple before it can be released
10. this one is pure preference - but iOS is way more intuitive imo
just 6 points i quickly came up with. and i bet if i spent a few more minutes i could go on and on.
Literally the only thing andoid devices are better at are customizability which i really dont care about but if you do thats fine
And android device manufacturers are more experimental for example with folding phones.
Videos? App games? The vast majority of those don’t transfer (those that do have their own in game way of doing so.)
The rate of Apple users leaving to Android will increase, mark my words, especially with Apple doing nothing new lmao.
Would help if phone carriers started selling those pretty epic, if not so slick, Gaming Phones. Lots more RAM and storage, plus pretty nice cooling methods. Really wish AT&T (my carrier) would carry the ASUS one personally.

@@jackthechristian2820Hey there fellow Christian
It will most likely not affect charging (disable charging without the chip, there is the provision against that in the EU law) but it might affect the usb-c connected accessories or data transfer speeds.
Makes perfect sense. Non apple product USB-C should only charge the device and not sync or data transfer. Discourages theft of phone. Lol
This is unbelievable if it’s true, this kind of anti consumer move is crazy
What do you expect it's apple lmao
Apple is the synonym for anti consumer
Just switched to the s23 ultra and I'm not looking back
Samsung and every other phone maker has the option to do the same thing, but chose not too.
I bet china will come up with an external chip for this to go through this loophole

Because a defective type c cable that doesnt comply to safety standards shouldnt be sold regardless of brand
But data transfer and accessory use is fair game and is inconsequential to the eu.

If what the video states is true this makes the standardization redundant as it means iphone users with still need to buy new charging cables if they want to charge their phones in reasonable speeds (not to mention the date transferring issue).
my thought as well, non-certified cable just charges slower or data transfer speeds are nerfed.

1:30 They want to kill their own product 🤦
Only isheep buy this tho
If you buy apple you have to buy everything apple sucks I knew apple would do this oh let's own the cable by making apple certified usb C port and cables
This would mean you cant buy dac amps now for iPhone they have to be apple certified now WTF apple glad I am sticking with open source Samsung fuck this sit regardless the bullshit that Samsung did with the headphone jack this is gonna put a monopoly on basically you can't use this it's not apple certified oh sorry the charger maybe a good brand charger but it's not apple certified I think the isheep need to wake up lol or else they will be buying cases that have chips saying this case is not certified by apple only certain you know where this shit is gonna go lol
All things you buy for Apple have to be certified that's it if you have a gan charger this will be a fuck you to anyone buys this bullshit but they suck it up like eating a pussy lol
@@jonathanoxlade4252 well most people prefer iPhones 🤦
You now have a rebel teenage. "I am no 15 Phone"
I'm totally okay with this... I used to actually be a nice guy and keep a specific Apple cord in my car for friends trying to be nice yet explain this as a reason why they should change to send a message to Apple (just like the Samsung users should not put up with some of the crap they have done to us like no microSD card)
Anyway good luck with charging your phone if this is the case.
I heard the speed will also be slow when transferring the data
Not just the EU India is also forcing apple to use type-c and I like that other countries should also follow this and force dumbapple
iPhone users are just dumb they don't even realize what apple do with them dumb people pay 1800$ on a phone with features that can be found on 750$. Apple is that company who doesn't care for anything neither for nature nor for their customers they don't give a f*ck they just want to make profits.
Countries need to punish them properly and mean it. Say ban a product from sale in their country if it doesn't meet standards?
But why? They've added usb-c to their iPads without any issues or limitations.
Wow, Apple! Can't say I'm surprised they did this. This is a further reason why I'm sticking with Android (specifically Samsung)
Tim Cook :- you didn't see that coming. Did you?
One of the many reasons why I’m leaving apple
Apple should really change their name to Clownpple at this point
Watch them use cheap cables that will break as much as the lighting ones.
I know I will sound like an Apple fanboy but I don’t care at this point. It’s the same as the lighting port, yes that much is true but it gives you a piece of mind knowing that the cable won’t damage your device in any way.
Let's go Samsung i m a big fan of Samsung mobile.
When did Apple say they will switch to USB-C on the iPhone 15?
Seriously to all the apple buyers here why just why.
The Galaxy S23 is so much better in ever single way you just can't be dumb enough to still buy apple!
Tell me here why you would but apple!
Lighting is just terrible,
It was great back in the day, but not today.
They also poorly done and break after some use.
I own a 13 pro max it is my last iPhone!
I would say iPhone are good but like what the hell! Apple clearly cares more about money if they make this decision
Like I am a android user and I never hated Apple. But this is such a stupid discussion. I was so happy to hear that they were switching to type c but they made it sodat it has to be a caple from Apple. Super stupid
Beach Bunny is a Great Band, I’m glad you agree
For God sake. They should fine apple billions for that
Actually this isn’t accurate.
You gotta love apple...life gives them lemons and they hand them back apples terms and conditions 😂😂😂😂😂
Shady Apple with their ways using the USB-C cables.
I think apple should be able to use their own cable. Theyve had lightning long before USB c went mainstream in Android phones. Mainly cause I think lightning is better designed than USB c, idk about speeds but just the design of it is more durable, since USB c is a female cable the port inside the phone can break
It's crap like this that makes you realize, no matter the arguements in Apple's favor, it's not worth switching to.
Accessories i understand.
Fast charging however should be universal by year end
They are still giving 60 hz display to iPhone 15 base model.. 🤣🤣🤣
Doesn't apple understand the point of forcing all electronics using usb c? 😂
So what is the benefit of an android user for iPhone to have usb-c plugin?? I see so many people here going emotional over this. I’m an iPhone user and I’m still using the same charger over past 5-6 models. Unlike android, who had to switch from different variants of usb cables.
I never seen a iPhone Home Screen so beautiful in my life! Please teach me 🙏
Tbh apple is the victim here, their public response not too long ago is actually very logical, I used to support usb c iPhone but because of the argument apple put out I am in apple camp now
Not defending Apple here, but with the rumored possibility that USB Type C ports on iPhone might be USB 2 speeds and some cables might not even work … How is this any different than the already existing mess that is the USB Type C ecosystem?
You already can’t tell what the port supports by looking at it, and there have been videos posted here on RUclips showing that - even between Android devices - charging can be hit or miss.
This is good news. I dont want my apple coworkers using my Samsung charger
🤣🤣🤣 petty as hell but it's funny
I’m annoyed at U.S. market 14 series only having eSIM
EU won't step in
I work at a phone store and usb c ports typically don’t last long before they go bad so I’m happy with my 14 pro lightning it still charges super quick too
I can only charge my iPhone 13 using MagSafe, was only like 6 months old when it popped
Lol im pretty sure anker will make some cables where it works with both iphone and android, so there is hope.
I hope lawmakers do not let this slide. Make it universal. And I am posting this on my S23 Ultra.
This is already true with the new ipad. My ipad mini does NOT support Samsung's usb type c to 3.5 mm jack converter 😶
As someone who only uses Android phones, I have to agree with iPhone on this one. At least till we figure out the security flaw with usb-c technology
Fr this is what made me switch to android 2 years ago after using iphone exclusively before that.
The video editor did not took the time to mask the wall behind his head in the beginning. Hehehhee nice one though! Hehehehe
What about apple's previous usb C which come with Macbook and IPad.
