The original Dreamcast version also had some DLC so it could have something to do with that. In all likelyhood it's leftover code that isn't meant to be triggered in the modern rereleases, but because it's a port of a port of a port, tje code doesn't really care

It’s not actually drm in this case. It’s just simply failing to connect to the leaderboards for some reason at that moment.
As said above me, she only pressed the leaderboards button. The game is always offline.

@@gokublack9724 Actually they been said they _want to_ , just not now, somewhere down the line tho. And honestly I think that's for the best. Let Sonic Team get better budget, resources and a bigger team before tackling full blown remakes of their beloved games.
