Hi everyone! It's been a busy few months since my last video. I'm in the process of creating a tutorial on setting up your own dedicated server for gaming, file sharing, Plex, etc... Subscribe so you don't miss out on the new content coming soon!
yo this vid was insanely useful, I like how you went through the whole thing and did not leave out a bit. This worked perfectly, aside from a few naming errors on my end, worked awesome by the end. Super duper appreciate you, thanks!!
Dude this is great. Thanks a bunch. Im learning the networking and all that crap for our company due to covid so being able to setup some new hardware thats coming in myself saves a crap ton of time.
I'm not sure if you still monitor the channel, but I wanted to say you did a great job! I had crafty controller fail on me after a year and took my server completely down. It wasn't a direct 1 for 1 follow due to updates, but I was able to follow close enough that between that and the documentation provided by Pterodactyl, I was able to do a successful install after only some minor hair pulling. good work
I feel sorry for this dude. 1. Great tutorial but it isn't recognised 2. 60% of comments just think this is free Minecraft server hosting 3. Ubuntu in some cases is really unreliable and different people can get different errors for different reasons Good tutorial tho :)
I have the expectation that the user will have a basic understanding of Linux and networking knowledge. Also people need to know that Google is your friend when it comes to troubleshooting. Appreciate the feedback!
Every tutorial doesn't seem to work properly or at least doesn't show a fix for my issue. Whenever I run: MariaDB [mysql]> CREATE USER 'pterodactyl'@'127.0.0.1' IDENTIFIED BY 'password!'; I get the following error: ERROR 1146 (42S02): Table 'mysql.db' doesn't exist
Nice tutorial and video. Probably did couple of things too quick for others who are new to this stuff 😅 But I got a question how do I allow people who are not connected to my WiFi to start/stop my server? They can access the website and login (with the admin account -no new account was made-) but cannot start or stop server. Instead they get this error: **There was an error attempting to establish a WebSocket connection to the Daemon.** and error code: *xhr poll error* Can you help me?
When I try to enter: CREATE USER 'pterodactyl'@'127.0.0.1' IDENTIFIED WITH mysql_native_password BY 'somePassword'; i receive "CREATE USER 'pterodactyl'@'127.0.0.1' IDENTIFIED WITH mysql_native_password BY 'somePassword'; ERROR 1064 (42000): You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MariaDB server version for the right syntax to use near 'BY 'somePassword'' at line 1" error Do i need to install a different mariaDB version
What do I do if it says Welcome to Minx! If you see this page, the nginx web server is successfully installed and working. Further configuration is required. ?????
Can this be done if im on win7 x64 8gb ram i3 800mb/s download speed and 900mb/s upload speed ? And can i add plugins and if so then how? Also, do you have a discord? I want to make just a server for me and maybe 5 more friends, I wanna experiment things around, with plugins and worldedit and so on, and I need a lot of space allocated for the server, memory etc, I quite understood the context of this tutorial but not all, if you are willing to help me with that I would appreciate it.
