I started doing these last week, my stomach muscles are nicely aching in the mornings now, but stop when I'm doing the exercises. I'm also standing in a better posture.
Hi Ivana. Thank you for your very helpful information. I have a question. I am a 45 years old woman from India. I am a classical Indian dancer and quite fit and very slender. My BMI is 19. I however do have a bit of belly fat. I really really want a flat and toned belly. I started doing mat pilates 10 days ago using online videos. I am hoping this will give me a stronger core and help me achieve my flat stomach. However, It seems I also have to lose another 6-10 lbs in order to get a flat stomach (based on the calculation in one of your videos). That would put me at a BMI or 17.5… which is considered underweight. I don’t know if it is my genetics, that makes me have this belly fat even though I am quite slender. Is it still healthy to have a low BMI in order to achieve a flat stomach ? Are most small built women with flat stomachs underweight (according to BMI calculations) ? Thank you 😊🙏🏾
I want a toned stomach. I cant do crunches because of severe acid reflux. I cant raise my left arm because of an assault. I cant lean on my left side to do planks because of nerve damage from the assault. I have a hard time dieting because i am an emotional eater.
These exercises are extremely helpful. They are also some of the hardest abdominal exercises I have ever done. I am so sore. I was recently diagnosed with the distasis recti. That is also extremely painful.
Yeah, DR sucks! I've done a few videos about DR. But it's odd that you mention it being painful...because DR generally isn't. Have you been diagnosed with diastasis recti?
These exercises were kind of easy for me. The standing wall exercise was the most difficult (on my legs) but it was still fairly easy. I'm trying to build muscle, so I can't really reduce my calorie intake, so I guess the only thing I can do is increase my activity while consistently sucking in the stomach 😅 Liked your presentation.
Thanks! Often with the TVA exercises, if they feel too easy it’s because you’re not doing them correctly. Maintaining a good TVA contraction should be challenging. Not “deadlifting 3x your body weight” challenging...it’s a different feeling than most people are used to.
As with any exercise, it really depends. What are your goals? What other exercises are you doing? How much time do you have? How fit are you? In general though, every other day (3x per week) is good. 🙂
It's not really easy to isolate different sections of the abs. The exercises in the video are good. You can also search "TVA" on my channel and there are a few more ideas. Hope that helps!
Eating less always works for me. I was 246 lbs. a year ago. I stopped eating fast food, drinking alcohol and cut my portions in half. Now I'm 185 Lbs. today. I didn't even have to stop eating sugar. I just cut back.
I used to have a professional personal trainer and would do 1,000 crunches a day. I stopped doing crunches when I realized my cervix shifted closing off my entrance.
It's not that you can't have it! For many people, cruciferous veggies cause some bloating. So if you find yourself really bloated often, it's just something to be aware of. Smaller servings cause less of a problem!
@@IvanaChapman Thank you for the quick reply! Ya, I have never had a problem with eating broccoli, but with everything else I should reduce portions. I have cut out ice cream almost entirely, I eat yogurt with strawberry-rhubarb jam ( omg that is so good ) instead. Have had a belly for the past year and a half, it's been a real struggle to reduce it! I will do your exercises! 😁✌️
@@IvanaChapman I don't want to contribute to animal cruelty...can't stand the meat/dairy/seafood industry and all industries that mistreat animals. Lots of environmental and human rights issues as well. I don't want to look at my plate and know that animal on it has suffered and was fighting for its life 😔😔😢🥺. .
Fair enough. It does make eating in a nutritionally-balanced way more challenging, especially if you're trying to gain weight. Nut butters, quinoa, and dried fruit are calorie-dense and can help you increase calories, without as much of the bloating that comes from beans (though, of course, if your overall fibre intake is very high you still may get bloated).

Finally I've found a belly workout without crunches
Such a life saver😭
Although there's nothing wrong with crunches, as such, I'm not a fan either! 😆
Thanks for watching! What part of flattening your stomach is the hardest for you? Mine is bloating...because I have digestive issues.
I am 44. Has PCOS. Multiple spine problems. Being treated at the moment. But I want to keep on working my mid section.
Thank you so much for these, they are wonderful! Thank you also for the great demonstrations, interesting explanations, and clear instructions!
So glad I found Ivana ❤
That’s very kind of you to say 😊

I'm glad the exercises are helping you. 🙂
I always look pregnant, but I'm not. I do have endometriosis and adenomyosis though. Not sure if its bloating or fat.

I like this technique!

"reduce gas producing foods... broccoli, cauliflower..."
Eh??? I can't have broccoli? I can't live without broccoli, my fav veggie... ☹️

When I squeeze my stomach I get perfect abs but when I relax my stomach sticks out
So you're a normal human being...great. 😉
Lol I tried it it did NOTHING
Tried what specifically? There are a lot of different tips in there.
:'( I'm vegan and i eat a lot of beans....also I'm trying to gain weight :'(
Yeah, that's tough. My digestive system wouldn't handle that. Why have you decided to be vegan?
