Just make sure to promote to top tier countries where the pay is higher. One of my songs had 140k streams and generated me around $458. That amount has multiplied since
Janitor doesn’t get paid the same as the ceo . Spotify isn’t the only streaming service . Ad all streaming services together instead of focusing on just Spotify
I'm in a similar situation to you. Wishing one day I could live off of streams (without sacrificing my passion of course). I find it funny how Apple Music can pay 2-3 times more than Spotify per stream.
Hey there, thanks for sharing the info, you mentioned sample packs, have you had any luck selling those? Would love some content around your journey with that!
the specific distributor i have has ties to editorial playlists that a service like distrokid doesn't have. i've landed on an apple music editorial through them and hope to land on a spotify one soon.
Yeah. I'm sure that number is pretty accurate, but my distributor takes 15% and it depends on what percentage of users that listen to your music are premium versus free spotify subscribers.
The message is that even if you are talented, relying on royalty streams from music will never be enough money to sustain yourself because of how little Spotify pays musicians. You have to find other ways to make money from music.
@@nikowav this is the poison of streaming. Flash back 12 years back and you would have had minimum of 50 cents per mp3 download and minimally $120,000 for the same audience. Streaming is a cartel ripoff by big platforms to artists. It's sad to hear a talented artist as yourself rationalizing that your music is not profitable, when in reality it is, but corporates have hijacked your ability to get what your music is worth. In the history of music, it is only recently it has been rendered, by false promises, not profitable to have people consume an artist's music as a product. If you notice, part of the process to lead to today, was the systematic removal of physical stores and cd sales, so that streaming platform could reign and be the only choice after conditioning the public to expect a gluttony of music for a flat fee. It's been made into an excuse as a platform to have to go perform in person for the 'real' money. However, we are all stuck in this now. I think one of the best plans is to try to get momentum with followers so that the songs sustain themselves without further need to advertise at least to make it to a point where no more out, and eventually the in will exceed, although of course never to truly compensate. Because I know these ads can be money pits never wanted to do it but it's now where one's music is dead unless pay for others to play. But got to do it smart and not let it become like playing the lotto that you may win at first, but don't stop while ahead but eventually keep paying out until gone into an unrecoverable hole.

This was very insightful! Artists should DEFINITELY be paid more this is ridiculous…
Thank you! I definitely agree

For real! It's criminal how little Spotify pays especially with how big of a monopoly they have on streaming services.
That's not true. Apple pay similar royalties.
@@xanderusa1 Apple $0,01 / stream , Spotify 0,0033 , RUclips music 0,008 , Tidal 0,013 ..
Spotify isn't for make a living but for additional income.
