He didn't give Borges a chance! Didn't have to stress about Medvedev winning at all. Borges seems like a nice person and he has cute looks, well done reaching round 4, hope he does well in the future as well.
@@LERKje-te1mu Like his demeanor and characteristic is nice, and his physical appearance is cute. I'm not a native speaker, I didn't realize someone would poke at sentence structure. I also felt awkward to talk about his physical appearance, so that part was hard.

Medvedev is the Davydenko of our times, if only mentally tougher. Borges is not an especially exciting player to watch, but seems like a cool and hard-working guy, so I hope he continues to achieve some success.
@@domkelly1972 obviously I meant in terms of playing style. If you were watching tennis 15-20 years ago you know what I mean. Davydenko played against peak Federer, Nadal, early Murray and Djokovic. It is always difficult to compare different eras in terms of the player's achievements, but not in terms of style of play. I am a person who enjoys watching and appreciating tennis as a sport and I am stating an opinion, so I am certainly not the troll in this comment section…
I think Medvedev is one of the mentally toughest players on the tour. I remember his US Open 2019 when he reached the final against a hostile crowd. Also taking away Novaks grand slam dream in 2021 with a clean and pure game needed mental toughness (Novak also crumbled under the historic preasure but still). His five GS final losses always had been against top class opponents (3x Novak, 2x Nadal, 1x Sinner) and three of them went to five sets. There was no shame in loosing them as he gave great fights in those matches. I think you are not unright with the playing style similar to Davidenko but in point of thoughness and success he is very similar to Murray 😊
I feel sorry for Borges but he choked from the start. Played like a trembling boy against the 2021 champion. He wasn’t psychologically prepared for that one.
I would say he is as much as consistent or maybe more. His weakness is clay. He played 2023 AO SF, early exit at RG, wimby SF, USO Final, AO final, early exit in RG, wimby SF and now USO QF. Except clay, he is reaching mostly every SF or F. More consistent than Sinner or Alcaraz so far.
@@marshaloga3047yes he is more consistent but how more than Alcaraz? That boy literally had his worst Slam result since 2021 and he still is only 21. Results of him going back: 2nd round, Win, Win, QF, SF, Win, SF, injured AO 2023, Win, 4th Round, QF, 3rd round, QF (Us Open 2021), 2nd round (Wimbledon 2021). Literally made it to 7 QF in a row or better, and 6 of them semi's or better.
He’s better than Zverev. Their current rankings don’t help my argument, but in terms of who is the better tennis player, Medvedev is just a superior player in my view.

True, but I haven't. We all know what he is capable of.
