We are getting old, and so does the band. Back when I was young, I felt a bit annoyed and wondered why oldies band such as Earth, Wind and Fire or Air Supply always plastered in the paper, TV promo every year that they were coming to my country only to perform their old classic hits, not new songs. And now it's the bands of our generation that going on world tour and started to singing their old indie songs after more than decade avoiding it. Now I understand, Its the circle of music life
Some of you people are rude. Alex went from boy to man, and from one little town to traveling the world for 20 years. He's evolved and it's ridiculous to hold that against him. Sure I too miss his higher pitched voice but I'm so glad that doesn't shy him away from touching the old stuff bc it's sodamn good. It would suck to be famous bc of how judgemental people are. They are and always will be epic. Sadly we can't freeze time.
Ngl this is probably one of their best recent performances of the older stuff. The older songs don't work with the hollywood style vocals. Give it a few more years of living in england and he might remember he's from sheffield! Always think "you're not from new york city, you're from rotherham"
