Currently studying GI while watching this! Your placement looked amazing. I'm looking forward to my ECG lecture some time next week! I find that the Cardiovascular system is the most fascinating. 🙂
Really great experience Kyle, the whole barcode blood glucose system is what Colin deals with in his job so he’ll tell you all how it works next time we see you x
Thanks for another great vid 😁 How is this graded? I've heard of a booklet you work through but how do they know you've experienced everything within the ward? Do you carry JRCALC with you to check meds each time or is it memory? Why was the ECG so confusing, in ambulances they aren't like that? Can you read/diagnose ecgs? I know there's a lot but are you confident you can diagnose someone yet? How easy was it to ask for help/admit you don't know something? How long are you on that ward? When are you doing ambulance placement? Was you alone or with other students from your course on placement? I know I have a lot of questions, but you seem the best person to ask - your passion is inspiring!
So great and fantastic comments. I really really appreciate how many you have to ask and taken the time to write these. Some of these questions have been asked before So I’m going to sit and do a live stream and answer these fro everyone’s benefits. Would you prefer that?
Hello! Have you got any tips for a first year studying paramedic science?! I’m applying this year to start in September 2020? I’m most worried about having no time for myself or to see my family!
Hello Chloe! It’s difficult I must admit. Time management is so so key. Organisation is key, with this you do have time. Over placement it’s difficult - but if you stay on top you do have time. How far away are you travelling from home?
2OrdinaryGuys I might be half an hour, I might be 2 and a half hours... I’m looking at Sunderland, Lincoln, Sheffield Hallam, Hull and Teesside, and I live up in the north east... what would you say about this?
I'd say it'll help having your own while at university as you will require a stethoscope for placement. I currently have a Litmann Classic III which is expensive but worth it. My university usually has spares in skills labs (not for placment) as some students don't have one yet. Not sure if this applies to all universities. I hope this helps x
