Thanks! It’s pretty awesome what all you can see from up there.

Thanks for sharing your experience, Steve. Wondering if you think the Orionids will be visible from Mt. Wilson. I generally go to Joshua Tree for viewing, but I wanted to observe with a friend of mine who resides in LA and this place seems to be a decent spot. Would you agree based on your experience?

Thanks for watching! I’ll check with my friends who are a little more knowledgeable, but last time Orion wasn’t coming up until about 1:30am or so. It was about the time we were leaving. Of course that will change over time.
The sky wasn’t very dark so it might be hard to see anything but the brightest meteorites. We did see a few. I believe they are having another Star Party next weekend the 22nd. If the weather has been like this week the overcast clouds come in and I was told that the inversion layer will sit below Mt. Wilson and you’ll get very dark skies free of the city lights under the clouds. So that might be really neat and easy! Might be worth a shot than driving all the way out to Joshua Tree.

@@TheLynchBurgers wow, that WOULD be really cool. Thank you for the tip, I'll be looking forward to hear what your friends say about it too.
I did notice LAAS has that meeting on the 22nd which would've worked wonderfully for us, but I happen to be unavailable that night. I'll have to try another time with LAAS!

@@IsaacKLee yeah we’re still deciding if going to that one or going up to Mt. Pinos by Frazier Park. LAAS has a private camp up there, but anyone can go to the Mt Pinos parking lot and it’s super dark. I’d like to get more super dark Milky Way Timelapse’s.
