Lvl 500 here. Good points! To add: -The subsonic rifles (Honey Badger and AS VAL) are very usefull if you're surrounded by enemies. Play good angles, pick them off one-by-one. An enemy would have to be almost right next to you to hear your gun go off, use that to your advantage. -Unless you are hiding in a dark corner, an all black outfit will make you stand out more -Mind the length of your gun. Your barrel could be sticking out of a corner/window or if you are too close to the wall your character might need an extra second to bring the weapon to a high ready position -Don't stand directly in front of doors when opening them -Lasers will give away your position/presence more than it will help your hipfire -In Domination and the occasional Team Deathmatch, the enemy team will have a higher probability of spawning directly across the map from where most of your team is concentrated at. Note "higher probability", as it is not always going to be the case. -If you are following a buddy into a room/area to clear it dont aim in the same direction as him; find another angle to sweep and clear, ideally an angle in his blind spot that he is most susceptible to
FINALLY I hear someone else besides myself call the armor in this game useless... You have some insane quality in these videos man! Wasn't even looking for Insurgency tips and you still got me hooked!😄
I was in a game just now and the guy on comms says something about armor, I give my two cents about it being useless. He says he can't live without that he doesn't like being one shot. literally a second later he gets one tapped and I say looks like you can't live with it either. He respawns and it happens again.. and again... so now he doesn't use armor... 😂
I noticed one night, breaching doors. You can shoot the brackets that hold the doors to the doorframe. And it'll fall, instead of bashing or opening it. Just a cool thing I noticed my teamate do the other night. I love this game. I play on ps4. Wish I had a computer though! Really want to get into computer gaming vs consol.
As someone with over 1000 hours now, all of these are great. ESPECIALLY #6, F armor, save your points and weight. Also, I almost exclusively play frontlines and a tip i have for that gamemode is to know when to defend and gain the wave advantage, and when to go balls to the wall and push. I've won so many frontlines games that I shouldn't have because the enemy team just kept needlessly throwing bodies at our objective that we had locked down and they didn't even NEED to win the game. Only for us to retake the middle obj at then end when they had 0 waves 🤷.
Tip #1 - Spacing. Playing as a team is great and all but put six feet between you and your teammates or a wall. Cover Chokepoints and Areas of Denial is a good way to figure out your spacing especially in open areas. I use grenade blast radius as an example of how far spacing needs to be. Like if your buddy held a live grenade on him, how far would it take for it to damage you? If he was going to explode, would you survive it's radius like a jihadist suicide bombing a room. Those bombers are worth two grenade spaces wide so give them a wide berth wherever possible. Tip #2 - firing lines. If your buddy is next to you go around BEHIND him not in front of him, you cause friendly fire that can kill you AND him and that burns out your teammates quickly when they have to carry you through a match. This also applies to WHEN to move from point A to point B. Example: two buildings and a street divides the middle but can be guarded from opposing sides. If the street runs North and South and the two buildings are East and West, work together to cover your squad and safeguard an area from attacks while at the same time open a safe passage for everyone. One person takes a South position and another for the North position, both sides of the street are covered. They have opened a safe passage for the team to move through while they provide overwatch. This allows you to move East or West to either building safely without taking a bullet to the dome. If the two overwatch squadmates start shooting, look briefly where the gunfire is coming from and TIME the shoots then book it the next objective area quickly while the enemy reloads. Once the South and North streets are clear and no teammates are in the previous position and they moved over to the next area - pair up and reverse move into the building to cover the rear meaning your backs are to the wall of the building you're entering and walking backwards until the entrance is barricaded or closed. This is Open Door / Closed Door. Usually the first two people leading are the ones doing Overwatch (Open) and are the last ones to enter a building (Close). Tip #3 - Bullet and Surface Physics. There is bullet drop in this game, go to the training grounds and learn which guns you'll be using and figure out distance of the drop and arming distance of grenades. Some guns are great for mid range but complete ass long to very long distances. Caliber of guns actually do more damage and that applies to enemies as when they shoot you but it's never explicitly explained in gun descriptions.
A long time ago I use to think smoke was practically useless. Then I figured out how to use it and I have been preaching to people about how to use smoke for years now. It started one day when I was on battlefield my teammate flubbed a his smoke it hit practically right on us and I said something along the lines of thanks that's a great idea, which I'll admit seemed sarcastic but I assured him it wasn't I explained what great revelation I just had I pointed out an enemy in smoke can't see in ANY direction and I mercilessly started launching smoke on directly the enemy mg positions not just between us like I use to. It's hard to believe it hasn't become a common thing by now.
Honestly, Utilizing smokes and flash bangs as well as just simply checking corners was night and day for me. There’s always someone lurking so cover while moving is the best.
Lvl 600 here and these were really great tips, most of which I've not seen from other videos on this game. Probably the two biggest things that help you improve (IMO) is map knowledge and movement (e.t.c crouch jumps, ledge slides & learning when to sprint and when to slow down like you mentioned). The best way to learn those both are just playing the game though. Keep up the great Insurgency content!
Nicely done ! I'd like to add some tips: 1)allways buy gas mask for security side if you're going to be near an enemy location , your cough will reveal you quickly 2)Don't buy body armor for 3 points , it's only advantage over 1 point vest is about 2% damage reduction on point blank distance and additional plate on your groin. So armor only makes sense if you're on the defensive side , because you don't have to move that much
The tip for the kills was the best. I hate the early cod players who are running like chickens without the head and walking in front of you when you are shooting. Just for kills. They forgot that it is a team tactical game. Do it with the team and win matches give you more points and level up faster.
Great video! I appreciate you for making content for the game. The games player base is super small and this helps promote the game in a very positive way. Subscribed!
Didn't know the helo take down trick - that's super useful for Insurgency Jesus. Also yes yes yes to slow down. Amount of times I have snuck up to an objective only for a team mate to sprint past, revealing our direction of attack, get shot in the head and leave me to either backtrack and try another direction or immediately get shot after is infuriating.
Went from 4 kills, 26 deaths. to 22 kills with 9 deaths, was also called a hacker to 😂 Thanks for the tips my dude, I was rushing like all the time, slowed things down now I can get more kills and get to hear the enemies cry 😂
I say embrace roleplay with your movements, taking notes from BPRE and a few tactical scenes of your choice just to get you in the feels (not like it'll actually help you entirely) can come in handy. Especially with what your armed with. But teamwork is highly recommended, no, don't actually help them, your team is free bodybags for when it matters, e.g hide in their corpses and ghuerilla style the win until backup arrives.
The enemy's being able to hear chats comes In handy for me, give out fake calls when your near an enemy and lure a kill hungry camper straight to a open lane for you to gun em down! Or you can blast free bird while rushing a enemy obj,
By far the worst part about this game is when you keep getting sniped by someone who you never see. They're either super far away or super concealed and it gets me everytime. I can't even make it out of spawn most of the time. It's worse than battlefield sniping
Check your corners, check your six. Switch weapons, don't reload. Don't throw a grenade unless someone is covering you. Reload only when it's safe. Back up if need be. Under fire, never stop moving. If they've seen you, they will grenade you, move.
Ive been playing sandstorm but this video was still really good on the advice I’ll be sharing this with my buddies when they decide to get off bogus call of duty and get on a real game.
1) need an insurgent Jesus character 2) I sort of disagree with your notion that armor is useless. It doesn't do much against rifle rounds, but it certainly will save your bacon from explosives cool bideo
Lol we all need an insurgent Jesus in our lives. And yeah, I agree with you. I don’t think armor is completely useless - just not as important as most people think. I still use armor for pretty much all of my Breacher loadouts to help me live ever so slightly longer on objective
When it comes to accuracy, I find taking the gun off fully auto and putting it on 2 shot burst REALLY helped. I use the G36 and the 2 shot burst (4 accurate bullets with 2 trigger pulls) has me getting more kills over all ranges short to long
Hey man. Thanks for the tips and thanks for keeping the video short and simple. I'm a horrible teacher so I'll definitely be sure to send this to my noobie friend. More love.
This game is pretty easy. I was playing checkpoint and it took me two games to get a cap on my own. Never played this game, did the basic tutorial and dived in. All I had was a bone stock mp5, smoked the whole ai enemy team on my own, capped the objective and brought my team back second game.

For the love of all that is holy. DO NOT cross or stand in front of another player pointing his gun downrange. Best case scenario I miss three kills because you wanted to play COD. Worst case, the back of your head gets aired out like a sunroof and I get PTSD from slaughtering my teammate. DO BETTER..LOL

Is proximity chat always on or do i have to press the chat button(on console) every single time i wanna talk to a nearby teammate? Or is the press to chat ONLY for whole team chat?
yeah I’ve been wondering the same. seems like some players chat line stays on constant during the match while others hold L1 (console) to open chat to nearby teammates
When you pull the pin, your character still holds on to the spoon (the handle) so it doesn’t blow up in your hand and you can hold it forever. But if you right-click while holding left-click, you can cook the grenade and it only takes about 5 seconds or so to explode

Why does my graphics on xbox1 look like I’m on windows 95 on insurgency?
armour is only useful for okay protect against explosives. most noobs don't even know how to cook a grenade though so i still don't bother
Ever since I got this game I've been playing bots, but I know I'm missing out so I'm trying to play multiplayer
Unfortunately they have nerfed the throwing a grenade or mugtov or incinerary at the objective
Good vid
How long it take after you pull the pin from the granade
When you pull the pin, your character still holds on to the spoon (the handle) so it doesn’t blow up in your hand and you can hold it forever. But if you right-click while holding left-click, you can cook the grenade and it only takes about 5 seconds or so to explode
How do you access the preset????
Little tip I got from my first few hours, if you're a casual gamer, PLAY PVE WITH FRIENDS. crap is hilarious
