Most of them don’t do this but the more athletic ones do repetitive exercise via manually moving their legs with their hands or machines that allows the muscles to be stimulated (like those things you stick on your abs from those infomercials) so they at least retain some muscle mass on their legs and not be completely atrophied to the point of being useless.

I find myself becoming emotional watching this clip despite not being paralyzed myself. This is truly an awe inspiring achievement for the science of rehabilitation. Bravo to the scientists and to Mr. Oksam himself for their hard work in reaching this milestone.

That’s why I get really sad when people say they miss the old times. Like I know why they say that, but I still can’t help it. Things nowadays are so much better than the past. We have just now started improving more and more. One day, we might even have a cure for cancer. Now if we could improve on the environmental side too, that’ll be amazing.

Thumbs up to you. Don't give up, ever! Back in 2019 I broke my neck and was told I wouldn't walk again. They lied, I walk with and cane, and sometimes without. I was given a wheelchair and a walker. And it's just taking up space. Prayers go out to you.

@@runningwater7873 sorry to say that This is bs. The power of will can be strong. But it's an insult to every person, who got paralyzed and really has no chance to walk again. You're basically saying, that the ones who don't make it, are too weak and don't fight enough. This is pure bs! There are things one is not able to change by himself.
