great musical piece and great reaction. I would just like to point out that she's playing this all by heart from memory. She doesn't have any sheet music in front of her which shows the truly incredibly amount of practice she has put into this piece. Beethoven was an absolute genius!
If you were impressed with this fantastic lady playing this you must (either privately or reaction) see her playing Hungarian rhapsody No2 😲 she literally seems to have running spider legs for fingers, truly amazing and beautiful to listen to. Great job👏👏✌️
Nice that you mention the different sounds and feels of the piano. Beethoven actually corresponded a lot with the manufacturers of his day to develop the modern piano. When he was losing his hearing, the high pitches were first to go, and so his later music focused on the lower, deeper sounds on the instrument where he could still hear. But pianos were not as versatile as they are now, all because a composer/musician was going deaf!
Very wise programming choice!! You can't appreciate Tina S fully until you hear this on the keyboard! The 3rd movement of Moonlight Sonata is incredibly difficult...on ANY instrument.
Awwwww, I was expecting the entire sonata. This is like the 3rd movement of it or something. At some point listen to the 1st movement. It's breathtakingly beautiful, and will probably sound familiar to you.
This is, of course, only the 3rd movement of the sonata. The rest is worth listening to, also. It's worth noting that the piano is a percussion instrument, the hammers are striking the keys, harder or softer depending upon how hard the keys are struck. Plus, the pedals allow notes to linger or be elongated (or not).
Populair? There has never been more classical music played then now. Every town with a little respect has its own orchestra. And this piece fascinates me, every time again.
What amazes me is you have people who may listen to metal, or country, pop .. whatever .. and they may wave a hand at the mention of classical .. sniff .. and dismiss it as .. old, outdated etc. I think that says something about that person. Good music is good music .. great music is great whatever the genre .. I think too many people are so uneducated and ignorant that they simply have no idea that in Western music that people like Beethoven laid the foundation for the music that followed .. and very, very seldom has the junior excelled the master.
Beethoven did at least 31 other sonatas, all of which are acclaimed. And this pianist has recorded many of them too. Her approach tends to be quick and crisp. A good example is her performance of the Piano Sonata no 2. Beethoven was a great pianist and took advantage of the new powerful pianos that emerged in his time.
For some reason this reaction popped up on my feed today - it was very refreshing to see some classical music reaction. Since you seemed a bit unclear on what movements meant, the easy explanation is that most classical works are fixed sets of 3-6 individual pieces called movements. So the 3rd movement of the Moonlight Sonata is the third piece in the Moonlight Sonata set (which incidentally only has 3 pieces). Doesn't have anything to do with difficulty, though a lot of composers liked to finish with a bang. The 1st movement of the Moonlight Sonata is probably more recognizable than the 3rd, but it's probably best listened to in front of a fire on a dark stormy night with your favorite brandy.
I see a lot of suggestions for Tina S, and while yes for electric guitar, her performance is amazing, piano is the instrument meant to perform this piece, and Valentina has produced just about the most breath-taking performance of it you can find on RUclips. Her skill is undeniable.
To me as a pianist listen to you saying "piano version" is crazy. Thats the original and any other thing instrument on this sonata is for me an insulting thought.
The piano is an instrument, that is easy to learn, but very hard to master. I sadly will never get over the learning part. What is your favourite music piece (classic)? For me it's probably Toccata in d minor. But "Allegro con brio" comes very close.
For me this piece was my first personal frustration. This was my limit, the end of my talent stretch. I could read the notes, i hear them in my head, some parts i could play.
if you want to react to more by valentina check out the Liszt Hungarian Rhapsody No.2... amazing... and it's the 'Cat Concerto' to the famous Tom and Jerry cartoon
Would love it if you reacted to rachmaninoff piano concerto 2 played by evgeny kissin with orchestra, even just like the first 10 mins would be awesome to watch you react to.
As far as I know Valentina Lisista would not be considered the "top talent of all time", but to be sure you guys were watching and listening to high level playing no matter what ! Very good video . . .
Great job with your reaction and thoughts on Valentina Lisista Playing Beethoven "Moonlight Sonata 3 on piano 🎹 . Next must would be Tina S playing it on Electric guitar Will blow Both Your Minds .
@joebloggs396 Exactly my question. I thought your reply was from my account... Like, the no1, no8 (much better masterpiece), no21, no23, no29, no30 up to 32...32 literally has most badass themes, transcendence, new styles of music (swingy rhytms)...
You got to react to more of her content!! There's so much to choose from I would start with her rendition of Rach's "Little Red Riding Hood" Liszt Mephisto Waltz, Lizst "Totentanz" and even the War Sonatas. Those are very epic pieces.
In my eyes, music is the primar example of our societies downfall. You can see it in every parts of life, but it's most easily recognisable in music.Listening to classical music or jazz, soul, classic rock music and than hearing todays trash is a huge sign that somewhere something has gone terribly wrong.Back then it was a music with a message, with emotions.I am not sure that we should even call todays mainstream music a music,it's just 99% worthless and meaningless. Greetings from Germany.
She is truly amazing! I have to recommend her recording of the piano solo version of Franz Liszt's Totentanz (and make sure to grab the full 14: 53 min video ;) ruclips.net/video/zGBXA1tBiLw/видео.html
You started with the third and final movement. If you had listened to the first two movements you would appreciate the breath and depth of this masterpiece. He seems to get the depth of it, at least a little bit. She doesn't.

We can debate, but the reality is that this kind of fast playing is more for show off than what the composer original idea. You are losing interpretation at the cost of speed. I may like it, or it can be impressive to watch and listen, but it's not the version I would play to someone who should hear it for the first time.
And , DON'T forget the composer, BEETHOVEN!
great musical piece and great reaction. I would just like to point out that she's playing this all by heart from memory. She doesn't have any sheet music in front of her which shows the truly incredibly amount of practice she has put into this piece. Beethoven was an absolute genius!
Really should put respect on Beethoven name she just played what he made hundreds of years ago

Also the fact that someone wrote this on paper note by note😊
Very wise programming choice!! You can't appreciate Tina S fully until you hear this on the keyboard! The 3rd movement of Moonlight Sonata is incredibly difficult...on ANY instrument.
Agreed! Tina will be up tomorrow!
she is amazing one of the best
I’m glad you reacts to this. I love this pianist. 👍
Imagine writing this piece of music
And only able to hear it in your mind..
Now imagine writing that
As a person that loves everything you post, but is ALSO a piano player...thank you for that video. "Piano version". Lol
Now I truly know the meaning of the term “tickling the ivories”.

The PASSION.

Yeah, I second that. First movement is better than third (although technically not as impressive as the third).
@@Paul-nq1ik 3rd movement: Wow! That's some impressive piano playing!
1st movement: Shhhh! I'm immersing myself in musical heaven listening to it.

still my all time favorite song

Exactly, Beethoven was an expert with the piano, performance and writing.
The best cover.

keep it up, youll get there, you just have to grind it out dude. Try other things and work your way up, its hard, but possible.

You should start with the more popular first movement - this is the third movement.
The 3e movement is for the shredders.
An outfit called Playing For Change puts out some amazing music videos that are worth checking out.

more classical pls

Interesting that this piece is considered around 6/10 for difficulty. Check out La Campanella by Liszt.
Surprised that nobody has commented on your title. This is Piano Sonata No 14, 3rd Movement not Piano Sonata 3
It's not a "version" - it is the third movement of the Moonlight Sonata - but okay
Why learning to play your scales is mandatory!
Do some Paganini pls :)

I've watched a lot of reaction videos and I'm not sure I've ever seen two such vacuous blockheads. Truly painful to watch.
Too fast. It may be impressive speed, but it doesn't do justice to the music.
Plays it like the piano owes her money
This is the tempo as written, sweetie. Bless your little heart though
