I was going crazy after seeing Ray Ortegas video.
Then I saw yours.
You fixed his video.
Millions of thanks
You did a FANTASTIC JOB !
Thank you for the knowledge.
I can't wait to start my show live !
You will get more views. You deserve it. All the BEST TO YOU/FAMILY 👍
I agree, I've watched so many videos trying to figure this out, and this is the best explanation. Thanks.
Juan, this is good stuff, my man. You broke it down real simple. I will be using the mixer, iRig 2 and the iRig Stream, a laptop and a mobile phone.
Gratitude, my brotha.
Thanks for making this video. I've been searching RUclips for days trying to find this info!!
Thanks for sharing. This is a game changer for taking calls on our podcast. Used it last night and the quality was amazing
Juan, Thank you so much my guy!!! I’ve been searching for weeks and weeks for someone to explain this set up. Really appreciate your video.
No prb glad to help! thanks for watching!
Just saw Ray Ortega's video earlier today. . . . Your tutorial was excellent!! Continued Success!!
If you use the main out to the Irig the caller will here themselves back so the best way is to use Aux out and only send your mic back to the Aux out and turn the Aux on their channel off so you can hear them and they can hear you but their channel won’t loop back into their ears....
Can you help me 😢
This is the best tutorial about IRIG 2 I have ever watched. Big up. You are the best
Thanks for watching Guy!
great thanks ive been paying for radio for a long time and you help me greatly
Good Job just got my I rig2 today. Tried it and it works.
Great explanation of this set up. Thanks
Love to see the iRig work when he's explaining everything to use all! I will believe it when I hear or should see the the dam thing work simple as that 🤔
This was the best video so far that helped explain it as simle as possible. Thank you!
Thanks +WestCoast RadioTV - I’m glad you found the information useful! Thx for watching
Made it look very easy...thanks
Great video, good job explaining, thank you
Thank you much Guy, very well explained
Thanks for the awesome video on the IRIG 2
I’ve just found out that in addition to this particular iRig, they’ve now got a Pro, HD2, and a couple of others. Is this particular model, the iRig 2 still the best option for taking phone calls on a podcast, or would one of the others be more proficient?
Thanks gotte the mixer working on getting the I rig2 and the wires.
Awesome yes I use the IRig 1 and works awesome! thanks great vid to the point super SUBD!
Thanks great info- I just got the irig2~
Great video. Thanks for sharing!
Nice vid! Are there any videos with call samples, so we can hear the sound?
Perfect worked on first round :) Thank you --
I don’t have a mixer but a Audiobox interface. Can I use left and right channel where my monitors go ? Is that the same as in / out for the 1/4th plug ins? Great video by the way.
Hi, would this work for recording or live streaming the audio signal from the mixer?
Do you have any tips. I have the Behringer 802usb and I CANNOT get it to work. I can hear the caller but they can’t hear me. I have it set up like you said.
Thank you!
Hi sir. Is this mean that i can also record anything playing on phone to the mixer on the phone itself & monitor it direct from the mixer via headphones? Great sharing btw😊👌👍
Hi, to make/receive live calls on my live streaming is better Irig2 or Irig HD 2 ?
Thanks this was great. i got the same mixer
Great to hear!
Good tutorial You could also plug the input cable (the little guitar icon) from the iRig into another channel on the mixer instead of sharing the mic input. Then you could adjust the levels of the mic and phone separately.
Richard Canavan Hey i have a question about the irig 2 setup to a mixer......i have the exact same setup as you but im having a problem
Thanks for the video, your explanation is very awesome
Please, can you help me
I would like to transfer the voice of incomming GSM calls (IN/OUT) to another mobile device ( that use a VOIP application).
In other words. Received a GSM calls and send it simultaneously to another mobile devices (NOT GSM)
What are the devices (equipment) and cables that I should buy in this scenario.
Thanks for helping me
Thanks dude. This seemed to work well. Hopefully will work for our future local sports podcast.
Great +Matt Mikus
So how are you recording the podcast or mixer to the radio. The output of the calls to the station. This
you are the only one who makes sense on this
thanks for the video
Hey man! Great review. What happens if you dont plug in the red 1/4 cable? I plan to plug-in the headphones on the iRig2. Would it still be okay? Thanks man.
Total thumbs up, thanks man. I'm using my iRig2 connected to my Galaxy S7 and the amp port is going to a microphone channel on my Yamaha MG10XU, and from the stereo out of the Yamaha it is going to the Guitar input of the IRig2. I have a microphone connected to another channel on the Yamaha as well as headphones plugged into the headphone jack of the Yamaha. I can make phone calls with the mixer and IRig2 between my cell phone and the person I'm calling. The only problem is they can hear themselves like an echo of sorts. How can I eliminate that and get the call normalized? Thanks in advance sir. Matt
Can you do this with the Irig Pre? I get a lot of noise interference using it... yet when I use the Irig 1 it works fine... but I still need to give more volume to callers cause sometimes they hear me really low volume... I hear them just fine but they don't get enough volume to listen to me... nice vid new sub here thanks!
I,m late to the party. I'm using a ProFX8v2 would I use the Left right cables on my Mic Line in? Secondly, I usually have a co-host on Discord or Skype that also goes through the board via my computer can the caller hear them as well.?
Hello and first of all I want to thank you for posting. I work at a radio station and wanted to be able to put a call on the air. Imaging two rooms, One with a control board/operator & on the other side of the window a host & a table and a headphone jack with volume control. It was my mistake thinking that I could take a 1/4 jack, plug it into the Headphone (output) on the table to the guitar (input) on the IRig2. Then the plug with the three black
bands was inserted into a Samsung S9. The caller could not be heard. A test was done at this point. With the
Behringer Xenyx Q502 One Orange 1/4 plug was plugged into the Mic (line in) one Grey was plugged into the
Main Out. The other end, the Orange was plugged into what looks like a Little SD card (found out it's a picture of a amp and the Grey was plugged into the Guitar, I called the other phone and we were able through the
Behringer we could have a conversation. The general public would not be calling the cell phone, it was to be
used for Facebook live and the host wanted people who went to his Facebook page to be able to hear what we were doing on the air. Thank you for reading this and if you know of something I can use Please let me know.
Once again Thank You and God Bless.
will this work to play sound from your interfaceon in to do live video
So, will this work using a Note 9 or any other Android device?
Can the caller hear your voice from through the nicer microphone? Or are they just hearing you through the phone?
Hi, what does the button go to ? Thru or fx? Thanks
Juan, Will this work for Skype ,Duo video calls?
Will this work on a youtube video if someone wanted to interview a guest via the phone live ?
what about a microphone connection ???? Do you connect your microphone in the Mixer? Where is your mic connected to, right now?
This is a great video. Thank you for posting it. You explain everything well. You could get a ton of views if you did another video and borrowed a friends iphone 7 or newer models that don't have the headphone jack out. I'm assuming I'll have to find a lightning cable to connect it to my iPhone!? Regardless, great video.
You are correct. Look for it in Amazon, is only $10.00....By the one that will plug to the phone and has a 3.5 cable connection plug, and slot for charging your phone. There is another one, with the same features but the it has a USB 2.0 connection in it. That 2.0 is the standard USB plug.
Hey thanks for the info....I brought all the Equipment ....Can you please share with us the setting....let expplain my current problem ....I can hear the music playing but when I make/receive a cell call I am not getting any sound....once I hang the call the music resumes... what am I doing wrong....IPhone--->Irig HD 2 ===>mixer--->Surface Using either Studio one or Audacity, Thanks in advance!
Will this work when you have two people conducting the interview with the caller (two microphones)??
This is a great video & I thank you for posting it.
How do you take and record calls ?
Does it go,through the phone to the Mac ?
I do live videocasts and people constantly ask me if I can take calls.
I have a Behringer mixer already.
You can either record them on your Mac or an out put from your mixing board...
I use Logic Pro x for upcoming podcast. I have 1 track for in coming call and a track for my vocal asking questions.Route both to Stereo out. Hope this helps.
We have the irig2 connected to a laptop recording program (cool edit... we can’t seem to get much of a level from the caller to the computer... we can hear okay but it does not mix to the output recording program... what are we doing wrong....or... do we have a defective Irig 2.... we have had the same problem on two different berringer usb q mixers...
Juan, esto funciona también para recibir llamadas de Skype ?
hey man! I saw Ray Ortega's video and I was so confused.... this video... you explain it so much better! thanks! Now my question... Is it possible to connect my cell phone to the H4N pro audio recorder so I can record phone interviews???? I just bought the H4N Pro earlier today and I havent been able to find any videos to explain this. Hope you can reply and let me know! thanks so much!!
I think all you would need to do (assuming you have a mixer) is just connect the audio out from your mixer to the H4N in...
hey great video.. Question tho.. I this compatible with a podcasting service like BlogTalkRadio?
I guess it would be it’s just like a mixer it’s hardware not software...
Hey Juan, como esta. I don't see a aux/fx control on your mixer. Therefore my question to you is this. Does the irig2 eliminate echo feedback to the caller.
Hey Coco, I have very cheap mixer for the demo, I’m not sure if the irig actually eliminates the feedback-then again I didn’t get any so maybe it does
With this meathod can the caller hear audio from the mixer?
Yep he went to samash people. If you in Miami Florida ask for Johan in dolphin mall. He always looks out for me.
Hey LosGranosTV. I tried this and it worked flawlessly. The only issue I have is that when I stream it the people tell me that the caller audio is way too low. I don’t know how to adjust their volume individually. The steam hears me fine and the caller hear me fine too. I also hear the caller fine. Do you have any idea what am I missing?
google mix minus i guess
I dig this tutorial, now...the only thing I'm having difficulty recording the phone conversation. Any way to correct this? Thank you!
Hmmm - record to your computer? I would either use they headphone jack out of the mixer and plug in to your computer mic in...
Ok so i bought this setup but I bought the Behringer 502 without the USB . how do I connect it to my computer now?(its too late to return)
You’ll need an audio to usb converter but I don’t recommend it
Can you reply with links for all the equipment in your tutorial? Thanks.
Hey Steve, thanks for watching... here are the parts, good luck! Parts list available on Amazon
IK Multimedia iRig 2: amzn.to/2q0hxdc
Hosa CPP-202 Dual 1/4 inch: amzn.to/2qElKo7
Behringer Xenyx Q502USB: amzn.to/2qAVH3k
Hi Juan! Set it up and it worked great. Problem is, when plugging headphones into the iRig2, I can't hear myself talking through the microphone. And when plugging headphones into the board, can't hear the caller. Any suggestions for hearing caller and my mic at the same time?
You gonna have to split the signal coming from the irig, another cable, another connection....
and what's about adding someone more via skype, like a conference at the same mixer ? stil the personne will ear both of microphone ans skype ?
That might be something to try...
@@losgranos i tried and did'nt work. Skype via a computer can use a line level as a mik. But the phone with the irig2 give me a king modulated sound with mik in on the phone. I tried playing with the gain and give me the same. Have you some advise for that's kind of trouble ?
Hi, I know this is an old video but it came recommended. I followed all the steps, but the caller cannot hear me. I can hear them when the IRig is switched to FX, and they cannot hear me. They can hear me when it's switched to "thru" but I can't hear them. The gain is turned up. I haven't heard from customer support. The cables are in tight. Has anyone else mentioned this and do you have any suggestions?
Can I do this if I went live with another dj
its a good war to set it up but you wouldnt need all that to record calls from it but it is a good tutorial regardless
I tired the setup and its not working. If I plug in a headphone cable to a 1/4 adapter to the audio input then I can here the caller but there is a lot of noise.
I use my cell or table with my radip with Aux cable and Aux reciver
How do i connect a dj controller to android
What software you use for your vlogs? I mean like for this video?
Final Cut Pro
Thank you very much!!!!
Is there latency with doing it this way?
How do I plug the mixer in to the PC while the iRig is in the mixer too?
Elisabeth you need a usb mixer to plug it to your computer...
I got the same exact setup......how come i cant hear the person on the other end of the call if im using the headphones plugged into my mixer ?? I only can hear the person on the phone if i plug the headphones directly into the irig.
good question: Is the reason I asked where his Mic is connected to while he is youTube. Is it connected right into the laptop via USB? Perhaps?
Hi +LosGranosTv can you do this on a youtube live? and how do you get the face cam on it as well as can i have hosts on the call that stay on and still take callers and we all hear each other? as well as how do i add their facecams? thanks. also what is your video cam set up i have a tripod and video camera how do i connect it to computer so it can livestream me to youtube?
Hey what's up Jah - how can i try to help? what exactly do you need?
hi +losgranos i had a couple questions about starting a radioshow. i wanted to know after i set the equipment up can i use it on youtube live for a show? I also wanted to know how you keep your face image in a window basically have 2 or more screens for myself and cohosts?
hi los granos i wanted to know how can i have split screen windows in a youtube video. and have multiple callers live all hearing each other.
🙏🏼
Hi, got everything set up, the call comes in clear and the caller can hear us no problem but can hardly hear the caller. what am I missing?
Ah yes, a couple of things, you need to make sure the volume on your phone is up, second check the slider on the iRig2 you might need to play with that a bit and lastly, make sure the monitor volume OUT on your mixer is up, not too high just enough so you can hear them.. hope that helps...
Thanks for the response, I played with it for a while and can't get the volume up. The manual that came with it said the download Amplitude and that doesn't work
hey los granos, can u add a speaker anywhere so that people who are watching the podcast can hear the person on the phone?
I would imagine you can attach a speaker to the jack out on the irig ...
ok, i will try that and let u know how that works. thanx for getting back to me.
i added the speaker and it works. the challenge is that sometimes the caller gets a feedback echo. when this happens, we have to turn the volume down & the audience can't hear it on facebook live. i would appreciate any additional tips u have.
And what if I want to record cell phone call? Can I use recorder instead of mixer?
Use the anchor app
Can you write out in the details how you did it. I can't see your mixer clearly.
Basically: from the iRig2 out (the small icon on the iRig) to your mixer in and from your iRig2 in (the guitar icon) to your mixer out, you might need to play around with the volumes controls a bit to get the correct sound, but thats it nothing else...
you must be eye vision impaired....WTF !!! Valgame !!!
Very good explanation! Question; can I send audio to my conference call line as a line signal coming from my computer and mic
Ok I got the same set up but the other person can't hear me. And I did the same exact thing you did.
Very odd, I just tried it again - make sure that your output volume is loud enough - sometimes that can be the issue
LosGranosTV I'm the learning the mixer so I figured it out. I had to have the phantom power on. Thanks.
WhirlOmar ah yes... I’m glad it worked out! Thx for watching...
anyone have a solution of using this setup where me and my co-host can hear the caller together?
Kyle Brannon headphone amp... take your headphone out and into the headphone amp with 1/4 connector. Easy.
This doesn’t sound right. If you take the connection from the main out into the guitar in on irig2 the caller will hear themselves.
I always thought the irg2 should have its own channel, and the host has own channel and that you have to take sound from the AUX CHANNEL back into the guitar input on irig2 and turn up the aux sends from the host channel so the caller will hear the host.
I don't get it if the iRig 2 just has an input and output, why can't I just buy the $11 iRig?!? I'm not cheap lol just asking
Good point it might work two I just happen to have that version
MAX BLACK no u are cheap
@@0382isaac LOL you got me
Great video....FYI, the background music is VERY distracting....and annoying. Personally don't think you need it, doesn't seem to really add any "quality" to your already great vid bro.
I know i'm Sorry about that, thats when i was trying out different things on my videos
This won’t work because you are still sending both the mic and the sound of the caller back to them, there’s no mix minus back to the caller. Love for you to prove me wrong and do a vid demonstrating how you’ve achieved the mix minus otherwise this is identical to Rays video lol.. anyone can feed sound in and out of a mixer..
I have seen so many setups and none produce an outcome.
Great video but the music is really distracting
Yea only figure it out once I was done 😂 didn’t want to recorded it again thanks for watching
OFFICIAL iPhone LIGHTENING ADAPTERS DO WORK!!!!!! Just to make everyone aware, NOT ALL LIGHTENING ADAPTERS ARE CREATED EQUAL!!!! I had purchased a few 3rd party lightening adapters for my iphone that would allow me to charge my phone and listen to headphones at the same time and these DID NOT work in this setup. I was getting 0 audio from ANY call source. the iPhone phone app, Skype, FB Messenger.... none of them would send audio to the headset via my 3rd party lightening adapter. When I used test apps like RUclips, Games on my phone, or a Music player the 3rd party adapter sent audio to my recorder just fine. I purchased a few of the official APPLE lightening adapters and BOOM! Works like a champ. I would also like to add, as it's a little unclear in this video.... that the official apple lightening headphone adapter is both an INPUT and an OUTPUT. It's able to take audio from the phone and send it to your recorder, but it's also able to take audio from your recorder and send it BACK to your caller. (Input)... this is where the irig2 and the mix minus setup comes in handy. If you are just trying to get audio off of the phone and have it recorded, a simple 1/8" male cable to 1/4" male cable into your mixer or recorder will work just fine. YOU ONLY need the irig2 if you want a mix minus setup. To clarify, the Mix minus is where you take all of the audio into your mixer from all sources, and then you user your mixer to MINUS out the callers audio so you can SEND BACK all of the audio EXCEPT the caller... back to the caller. This allows the caller to get your CRYSTAL CLEAR audio from the mixer, without their own voice. It will prevent a feedback loop from occurring, as well as allow the caller to hear you form your microphone instead of using the microphone on the phone itself. It will yield a much clearer result for the caller, and for $40 you can't go wrong. I got mine in stock at a local guitar center for the same price that amazon had it without having to wait for it to ship. If you don't want a mix minus setup, and you just want to straight cable your phone to your recorder you can absolutely do that too. As a fellow podcaster... I like having multiple options for recording. I always order double the cables I need, and I love having a fall back plan for wiring just in case my original plan fails me. In the video, you will see a black 1/4" wire is run from his mixer back to the iRig2 and run it into the 1/4" port with the guitar icon on it. THIS IS THE MIX MINUS FEED BACK TO THE CALLER. This video is confusing if you don't realize that the headphone jack on your smartphone is both an input and an output. This is also why those cheap headphones with a microphone wired into them work. You can talk into them (INPUT) as well as hear the caller (OUTPUT). This is also why you need a lightening adapter that supports both INPUT/OUTPUT and the 3rd party one I purchased was just an OUTPUT. there really is no good way to tell, so the best way is to just buy the official apple lightening adapter and you won't have any issues. I can't tell you how much time and money and effort was wasted figuring this out. I hope the info helps some others!
This seems to work with one person. What if you have a guest and you're interviewing them and a Skype call?
+Larry Russell mmm didn’t think about that Larry, well if you have a mixer you can connect multiple sources, maybe Skype on a cell and Skype on a computer? Or another cell...?
Larry Russell Hey i have a question about the irig 2 setup to a mixer......i have the exact same setup as you but im having a problem
with the setup like this, doesn't the caller hear themselves because their input is going into the mixer and the mixer is then sending its output out to the caller?
+garyhe1717 if it did I would have said so otherwise what's the point of the video? 😁
Yeah doesn’t make any sense because the caller still here’s themselves as there’s no mix minus, unless it’s to do with with the red and black set up for each side, isn’t really explained or demonstrated live in the video..
didnt work
Nice video but ????
Stop playing annoying music in the background. Very hard to listen to you when your voice is competing with synth.
Thanks for the advice Scott...
Cant walk and chew gum huh Scott. 🤣 I didn't even notice it until the comment.
good tutorial. Obnoxious background music. You don't need that.
