I've had a DD, eno and a couple of other brands but last year during the lockdown I decided to make my own. It's made from a material called HyperD 1.6 imported from the US, made all my own suspension(whoopie slings&tree straps) out of the dyneema. It has an adjustable ridgeline with a separate mossy net, and it's 11 x 5 feet and is a fantastic sleep as it allows a great diagonal sleep. Great vid
Hey mate, I was thinking of doing the same since I've got plenty of time and not as much money on my hands, plus I want specific things from several brands. I've a few Qs. What did you use for attaching the hammock to the suspension? Was it hard to make all that? How long did it take? Has everything held up over time or did you end up breaking/tearing something and regretting it? Are you a bikepacker/bicycle tourist too?
I live in a yurt so I tent camp all year round. Bug's I understand that Smokey fire for the bug's.a couple of Leaf's will do the trick if you can have a big fire.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Dan. Been into hammock camping for a while myself, but have had 3 hammocks that have given out under my 15 st + weight, why are most hammocks made for skinny little people? Think I'm going to check this out mate, appreciated.
I always like your videos Dan because i like you as you are very funny to Watch. But don’t like the look of that hammock it has no bug net and that ridge line looks like it wouldn’t last long with a frost. Think I’ll stick to DD Hammocks. Thanks for the video good to see other Products. 👍👍👍👍👍🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
Has anyone used a sleeping pad inside the double layer? I'm new at hammock camping. But, it seems like it would be easier to use a sleeping pad in a double layer hammock, the having to deal with an under quilt. I'd be interested in hearing others opinions. Thanks for the video.
Hi Dan! Great to see you trying a different means of getting outdoors 👍 just for info and not trying to make a granny suck eggs😂 if you want to know anything about proper hammocking get yourself over to Shug Emery’s YT channel you will become an expert in no time at all I can promise. atvb Stay safe, regards from Clive in deepest Dorset ps you will get the best comfort out of that style of hammock by a diagonal lay, different from sleeping in a dd or snugpac hammock 👍
Not 100% sure, but some are single layer meaning they won't hold as much weight. And some are 11' while others can be 12', which could have a slight change in weight bearing ability.
It means you'll need a 4m tarp to cover it,plus it'll be more weight & you'll need to look for trees wider apart & the snugpak cocoon won't fit!is it made for basket ball players? lol
I’ve been hearing a lot lately about longer hammocks being more comfortable, something about a flatter lay. Adventures With The Marine talked about it recently, worth a few mins to see his demonstration.
I wonder what happens if you turn the hammock the other way around have hoop poles and use it as a tent?! Ay up Dan. I prefer the Karabinars pal, i don't think that buckle is right, I've had buckles on belts give and had to grab me pants before i got embarrassed....lol. (unexpected laugh- check flies).
Could you please record a few camp fire fart scenes please just to humour it up a bit ..? I’m sure you must fart for England eating all that mayte lol..? Good stuff 👍

Great review Dan and looks a great hammock, stay safe mate
Looks like a nice bit of kit. Especially the double layer to put an air mat inside. Thanks for the video and stay safe.
How has your experience been in using a sleeping pad inside the double layer! It seems easier then having to mess with an under quilt. Thanks
I have the 11ft single layer.... it's a great company and I'm glad that you have discovered them...
I have some of the onewind equipment but there winter equipment look ace
Never been hammock camping. I like sleeping on the floor so I can hear and fill someone coming. Good video that thanks for your time to show us.
I like tent camping more but summer month are horrible for bugs

That system for connecting to the tree straps is a great idea
Good show thanks

@@englishwoodsman You to Buddy ! .
I love that. Great size
I’ll be looking at that one great 👍👍👍👍
What a cracking hammock for the price. Just put one in my basket.
Foxy.
Sounds like you can get two people in it. It’ll be interesting to see the rest of the set up. Stay safe atb 👍🦊
Son has a thing for hammocks we even bought him one from the original source of hammocks Nicaragua he loves them
£44.90p isn't bad for a hammock- obviously you would have to but a tarp to go over it and something to fit underneath in winter to keep out the cold.
I've just bought the double hammock and 20f underquilt. Can't wait to use it.
Good times
Great review mate, I might look into one... ady

Dd recommend that you sleep on the diagonal in their hammocks
You’ll need a 13 foot tarp
I'm over 6ft do you think this would be better for someone like me 90kg too
a 11ft hammock is plenty for over 6ft.... but onewind also makes a 12ft hammock too
@@robslagle will look into that thanks 👍👍
Where in yorkshire ? Im keighley massive 😁
So you can put 28 stones in it ?
Yes big 28b stones
I'm confused! Amazon says 400lb, onewind website says 300lb? Can you confirm which is correct please?

Hi mate I have the onewind 4 season underblanket and there 4m tarp
@@englishwoodsman Hi Dan. Can I ask where you found the 4m x 4m Onewind tarp, please? I can't find it anywhere.

You might get some stick for typing your hammock to a dead tree lol but I’m sure you checked it first mate
