- An edited clip of Casey Abrams' save. The judges stopped him in the middle of his song. Also, Ryan Seacrest announced that the top 11 will be going out on the Idol Tour, instead of the usual top 10.

I can't believe it has been 10 YEARS!!!! I still remember watching this live and I am still crying now
whoever doesn't like Casey Abrams obviously doesn't know REAL music!
That night was a circus. He was in jeporady, I started freaking out and crying.
And then Steven Tyler said the golden words: "We made a decision to keep you on."

Man, looking back from 2019 now, America was really stupid when it came to music tastes back then. Casey Abrams was one of a kind honestly, and he didn’t deserve these sorts of situations on there.
AND THIS. THIS IS WHY AFTER ALL THESE YEARS, I STILL WATCH AMERICAN IDOL. To get a chance to maybe, just maybe see an artist who is one of the most amazing singers I've ever heard in my life, and to see moments like this. I cried, I BAWLED when he got kicked off for good, but this moment was just the best. Probably one of the best moments in TV history. I don't care what anyone says about American Idol. It's not a dead, worn out show. It's amazing. BUT CASEY SHOULD HAVE WON, DAMMIT.

I still cry when I watch this. So many emotions.. I was shocked and devastated, then nervous and scared, and then anxious and hopeful, and then deliriously thrilled and relieved and happy and all the other good things you feel when somebody you love/care/support is happy. It was one of the most tumultuous times of my life. lol.
They saved the most talented Idol contest ever. Period.
Best result show in the history of Idol... these judges are 1000 times better than any other judge in the past
Ryan Seacrest handled that unpredictable moment in the end with real class. He sure is helluva lot nicer and more patient with contestants than X-Factor's host Steve Jones.

I don't even watch American Idol (except the auditions) but this guy...wow. The second I saw him..he's incredible. I'd buy his album in a heartbeat.

0:20 onwards the reactions from the audience, the rest of the contenders and Randy says it all. Hayley expression was like "omg no way!", James' face went "wtf?!" and Jacob had the shellshocked look of someone who has just seen 2 girls 1 cup.

I remeber watching this episode. It sacred the crap out of me when Ryan announced that Casey got eliminated. I was even more worried that the judges weren't going to save him because in the past two seasons the people who were in this situation ended up going home. I was soooo happy that the judges saved him and the tour would go from 10 to 11. I just hope something like this doesn't happen ever again because I don't know how much more my heart can take for events like this.
casey, win or lose, is a winner, he's different and will surely get big
when he was singing he thought he was going home. he was about to go all out on that stage for his final performance. and the song he sang was the song he sang on his audition
If they hadn't saved him, then I wouldn't have gotten the chance to hear him sing Nature Boy while playing the bass... one of the best vocal and artistic performances on the show this whole season... hands down
I still cry when I watch this! So glad he stayed especially for Haley. :-P

He deserves to win. He shouldn't have even been in the bottom 3 that night, let alone having the fewest number of votes.

This is exactly why judges being nice and positive all the time comes back to bite them in the ass. If you don't let the public know who delivered and who stunk up the joint, they're not going to know how to vote. If Simon was still there, Casey would've never been in the position that he was in last night. The judges are to blame. Because of their inability to be honest with the contestants who didn't perform up to par (IE: Thia), we almost lost Casey. Judges should be ashamed

They handled this better than what they did on the show this week with Jessica and the save.
Casey deserved the save...there were more than three other contestants who should have been voted off before him. He is an ultimate talent...America has been badly wrong before..they voted off Daughtry and Adam Lambert....in all their warped infinite wisdom. America is badly wrong. Wake up people!!!!

The only good thing about that save is that J-Lo told him to knock of the antics. It's true. The onstage silliness with the growling and the faces started to seem more like "notice me! aren't I different!" gimmicks than artistry. I was starting to forget that he was actually a pretty good musician. Still, his "too cool for Idol school" persona was completely debunked when he started crying and freaking out like something we'd expect to see out of Lauren Alaina.

1:47 killed me since Pia went home the week after. She had so much more raw talent than Scotty McCreery. Goes to show that talent doesn't matter in today's music industry.
Yeah, the others were concerned for self-interest reasons after the save was announced. They thought they made the top 10 tour, then when Casey was saved, they thought they were at risk of being cut. That explains all the relief felt at 3:47.

I want him to win. But he has to have more confidence in himself and stay true to the musician that he is bring back the bass or any instrument that he is good at and WOW America with your talent. You deserve to win.

The saved was well used here, Pia is a backup singer type voice, big and skilled, but undistinguished and plain...

@molewis Yes I can blame them. re watch the Wed show. If you think Casey was even remotely close to being the worst performer that night, you're out of your mind. The judges are there to give honest critique on the performances. If they are just going to praise everything like it's the greatest thing ever, there's no point in having judges. It's not about being mean, it's about being honest. This isn't elementary school, where you have to spoon feed everything.

@whb786 you cant blame the judges for anything. i honestly think that everyone is soooo in love wit casey because of wht he has done i the past. but if we are being real, he cannot compete or even come close to Jacob, or Pia or even that young blonde chick. just my opinion
