happy thanksgiving to all the americans watching this btw! here in canada we actually celebrate thanksgiving in early october. sorry for the later upload tonight and i hope you all have a great weekend!
@@arkethel yes, it had a similar kit, still doesn't mean it's perfect, baller allowed it to push in far and be annoying, and mine doesn't help too much with that
@@fragzz yeah but the other thing that nouveau was notorious for was being a skirmisher and surviving for a very long time. Being able to place mines while being pursued was huge for the weapon. It's also one of the best weapons to put mine on since it's always able to quickly move around and set them on objectives like clam spawns and the zone.
Nintendo making an actually decent online connection with dedicated servers is basically just a joke at this point, but I definitely think they’ll fix the maps and balance the weapons better (although the weapon balance right now is still pretty good, especially when compared to other games)
Yeah it’s not just balance it’s more of a redesigning things for better gameplay than making thing balanced. Maps is where I think more things should be reworked as a lot of problems are there even if I think they are close to being good and overall not bad
@@jefflogan2187 "they are trying" maybe some devs are but the main men at nintendo aren't, I mean the online literally doesn't have servers despite them being so rich and yet you still have to pay for it and most of their switch releases were mediocre with basically no content on release (or they were a switch port with minor extra content) yet people still bought them because "mario" or whatever 💀
@@jefflogan2187 I didn't really say anything bout splatoon 3 though, I like the game but my comment was about the video and how nintendo would basically never do anything he said as they have no need to. Also cmon man you can't tell me that switch sports, the new mario golf, mario strikers and a few others weren't completely overpriced, you can get games with way better content for way cheaper just without the mario or pokemon.
@@jefflogan2187 lmao your the one making up shit, so much shit infact that I'm pretty sure you deleted your comment but I can still see it from the notification so I'll reply anyway, I never said anything bout splatoon 3, I like the game I like the story and whatever my original comment was about how everything that he feels would make the game 10/10 wouldn't realistically be added because nintendo has no need to because so many people have bought the game already that they don't need to put extra effort in (ps mario odyssey is the only good mario switch game ngl)
Besides the bad/unstable netcode, it is really annoying to get thrown out of a lobby in salmon run whenever the maps change (no, not only when the salmon run maps change, but every 2 hours, when turf war etc. maps change). However I do think Nintendo should be focusing most of their resources to fix up the latest pair of pokemon games. Splatoon 3 is plenty fine in comparison
I’d rate Splatoon 3 rn as an 8 or 8.5 out of ten. I’m sure by the end of its update cycles that’ll raise to a 9, maybe even 9.5. It made some huge steps forward from Splatoon 2, but yes, it still suffers from poor connection and input delay, some cramped maps, and missing QOL here and there like being able to watch past salmon run matches or play tableturf with other players.
Just going to add a couple things this game series really needs: - Better communication systems. Cause my god i'm tired that it's been almost 8 years and my only way to communicate with my teammates are a very easy to misinterpret and useless input and a taunt. - Better matchmaking. This does not mean skill, but weapon comps. I'm tired of going on matches with teams where everyone's a full on support or having 3 chargers in my team. I wish there were both a quick screen of like 30 seconds or less before a match to decide your weapons, so you organize with your team. Or even simpler, let the game build proper team compositions. These two issues (other than the lag in splatoon 3's case, and the very much awful and oversimplified stage design) are what have been keeping me from recommending this game to anybody. It's been almost a decade, come on Nintendo.
I've noticed the matchmaking has been improved a lot for x battle compared to anarchy, and yes absolutely the face that we still only have 2 communication options is beyond me. I think a great system would be one similar to rocket League, submenus, or being able to choose 4 options from a menu and setting them before hand.
@@fragzz One great input they could use to call for backup would be to press down the L stick, so you don't need to struggle with the dpad to call for help. And make it a very clear message that can convey "hey, enemy's here i need help" and differentiate from "let's go this way" (the current "this way" struggles at that).
I'd give Splat 3, a 6.5 out of 10 at the moment. The connection issues are an absolute disgrace, and really shows us as consumers, what Nintendo thinks of us. For a company worth so much money, to continue to use peer to peer, for one of their best selling games, is an embarrassment IMO. The connection issues are ridiculous; I had invested in superfast fibre Internet for Splat 3's release, and I am still stunned, as to how the connection is so much worse, in comparison to Splat 2. I watched a streamer yesterday, a sniper main, who lost a match, and was docked points for a DC in their lobby (they incorrectly assumed 1 of the opposing team rage quit, but 1 of their own team was DC'd first). The unfair and random DC'ing of entire lobbies (why is it ok, to DC an entire lobby when a team is winning and so far ahead, with an obvious rage quitter one minute, yet allow a team that was previously leading and have up to 3 team members DC'd, to continue playing ,so they lose, WITHOUT the lobby being dissolved?) The uneven distribution of penalties is a joke, and does not appear to correspond to how long a match is played for. If I'm honest, Splat 3 doesn't live up to the hype it built prerelease. The netcode has really ruined the game IMO I was docked points after being DC'd from a tricolour battle during the last Splatfest on the victory screen, as a defender (I've NEVER DC'd from previous Splatfests, and THAT was with garbage internet). It's unacceptable and really let's the game down, I can't even recommend it to anybody, as everyone else I know uses more powerful consoles, and I know the Switch online experience will be a downgrade for them. The map designs at the present moment are awful IMO, too narrow, full of choke points, little option to flank and heavily biased towards snipers and Splatlins for some reason. I watched a sniper streamer recently, who effectively stopped another team from playing by sniping them in their spawn. The match making is also awful and nonsensical, I've had several matches, where my team has no front line weapons, against a team of frontliners; this has happened so often, it's actually begun to effect my weapon choices, with me frequently not picking what I want to play, but what I am certain the match making will ensure my team lacks. Salmon Run is also, occasionally buggy e.g. not being able to pick up eggs. Really not good enough for a console going into 2023
totally agree with this. i personally have just accepted that disconnects are part of the experience at this point. ive lost entire ranked series with only disconnects, and ive seen people disconnecting from splatfest matches so the other team doesnt get points, but for me it doesnt matter that much, as my multiplayer rank doesnt matter to me much and luckily its been getting a bit better for me. as for the matchmaking, yeah, they do need to improve that as well, playing ranked with 3 backlines and 1 slayer is awful lol.
@@fragzz What I'm trying to figure out, is why do these issues appear to be worse in Splat3, compared to Splat 2? Splat2 had awful connection issues, but Splat 3 appears almost broken or unfinished? Why is it so buggy? I thought the connection was supposed to improve? I'm definitely looking for a new console; and to think I had preordered the Splat 3 Oled.
@@fragzz The thing that's SO WRONG about your reply is, that we SHOULDN'T be accepting this! We shouldn't be accepting the disconnects etc. How many other game consoles have this issue? Does XBox or PS5/4/3 use peer to peer for their games? Do they have their customers pay for a subscription service, that appears to use the customers own Internet to allow their games to function? No, they do not. Sony and Microsoft would not allow their reputation to be tarnished in such a way. Splatoon is really functioning on the goodwill of the fan base, not that Nintendo will ever admit it; just as they refuse to publicly admit Joycon drift
really liked the video overall. I have my own personal opinions on og hammerhead (it wasn't good at all rose tinted glasses go crazy) but overall I agree with your opinion on maps. Since maps take way longer to fix i don't seem them fixing most of them, only the worst offenders. that being said, I think eliter and all longer ranged chargers need a rework because of this. In the game's current state without any special like armor, chargers are now showing how busted they actually are. In order to NOT add armor and make chargers not dominate the backline meta, chargers do need damage fall off at a certain point in each weapons range (the falloff for an eliter will be more noticeable compared to a regular charger). I was thinking the damage would fall off to 85-90 to still make them lethal if an opponent is damaged. This will inherently buff stringers as the weapon class is straight up outclassed by chargers in almost every aspect.
The problem with having a good kit though is that you can’t have a billion weapons with burst bomb and then 1 weapon with line marker. If every weapon’s gonna have burst bomb, why not just make that the only sub in the game? The point is that some weapons are gonna have bad kits with bad subs, and stop complaining about Ultra Stamp it’s not even bad anymore!
Not everything is good with burst, I was just using it as an example, and marker does have its use over burst, as it has much longer range, but other than that it's pretty much it. I even said not to give bucket burst bomb, because it would be overpowered if it did have it.
nah, i was joking that since if you have ever played splatoon without connection issues, you arent playing splatoon, i just put a logo of overwatch 2 as if you were playing that instead, because it doesnt have many connection issues.
why do so many people shit on inkbrush noveau tho, it's functionally similar to how it was in 2 and the weapon was great in that game, i can see it being amazing in the right hands t.inkbrush onetrick 2400 xpower
