The reason is because he just stopped caring about drama and started living a simple and private life and focusing on himself more. I would have done the same thing to be honest.
Let's put into perspective really quick. Dude started in his room or dorm room. Started playing slenderman. Blew up due to his reactions to those types of games. Stefano and barrel characters he made up and gave "life" in an odd way to the games he played. He competed against a music channel that amassed a lot of attention. But all and all he has "done it" in simple terms. He has made young kids, teens and adults laugh and distract themselves from everyday living. He has earned his "retirement" and all we can do is be happy for him and seeing him evolve into the great father we know he will be.

I disagree. He has never seemed to be driven by the trappings of the success. He has never bought huge fancy houses, gave away his play button, etc. I don't think he feels as if he has lost anything. He has reached a point where he can do what he wants to do, on his terms, and he seems happy with that. Nobody forced him to retire, or has stopped him from restarting. This is the choice HE has made and continues to make for himself. I think the only reason he mentions it these days is that people call him out asking him why he is no longer pushing the grind because they don't understand that he has different priorities.

There are still literally millions upon millions of people that still watch him. It’s not that the channel died, it’s that while he was in his biggest grind and was in competition with other people, all the people that are going to sub to him did. He is still in the top 1% for audience and viewership. Like, the man still gets 200-300 million views a year. It’s not that the channel died, it’s just that after his big balloon of viewership, he retired and stopped trying to grow his channel. He’s content with what he has done, and he still has a very large and very loyal audience. He’s a husband and a dad, and just does videos on the side for fun, and a lot of people like that. I kinda think that I even like pewds more as someone who isn’t constantly fighting to grow his brand. He’s just a cool guy and is looked at very fondly by basically everyone and has earned everyone’s respect. Still makes millions of $ every year. He’s set and he’s happy. And he’ll always mean more to the internet than people like Mr Beast will. He built an empire through being funny and likable, not through clickbait and giveaways.

I've come to the point in my life where I don't have that much time to watch youtube and with you not uploading as frequently actually fits my lifestyle surprisingly well. Been following since 2014 and never missed a video since. Of course I watched your earlier videos but not as frequently as from 2014 and up until now. Over 2 year member on main channel and +2 months or something. I'll always stick around and I wish you and Marzia a great continued life and I'm excited to be a little part of your new phase in life. Let's put into perspective really quick. Dude started in his room or dorm room. Started playing slenderman. Blew up due to his reactions to those types of games. Stefano and barrel characters he made up and gave "life" in an odd way to the games he played. He competed against a music channel that amassed a lot of attention. But all and all he has "done it" in simple terms. He has made young kids, teens and adults laugh and distract themselves from everyday living. He has earned his "retirement" and all we can do is be happy for him and seeing him evolve into the great father we know he will be.

You've already proven yourself time and time again. Just relax and enjoy the small things in life, and if you never upload again, that's perfectly fine. I know it's probably seen as stupid nowadays, but "you only live once". Enjoy your life to it's fullest.

Been following Pewds since his first Amnesia's gameplays. Loved to watch his compilations back then. I'm just glad I did back then, now I don't watch him anymore but still like to hear his voice from time to time. I'm just happy he's happy where he's at. Once you have wife and child it's difficult to find the time to do YT fulltime.

Pewdiepie channel is pretty much RUclips history. No need to upload or explain anything Felix, you did your job and entertained millions of kids, then teens and then young adults for like 10 years. The current RUclips landscape was shaped by OG creators, especially pewds.
You know, despite what some people are saying, I truly appreciate what this channel has become. He went from the little swedish kid playing games online, to an adult that has left a lot of impact on the world and now he's found peace. This is what I call character development.

I personally feel as if he's not very happy about losing his place either. People can justify it all they want by he's saying he's retired, he's this, that but can't change my mind.
I disagree. He has never seemed to be driven by the trappings of the success. He has never bought huge fancy houses, gave away his play button, etc. I don't think he feels as if he has lost anything. He has reached a point where he can do what he wants to do, on his terms, and he seems happy with that. Nobody forced him to retire, or has stopped him from restarting. This is the choice HE has made and continues to make for himself. I think the only reason he mentions it these days is that people call him out asking him why he is no longer pushing the grind because they don't understand that he has different priorities.
He's made it in life. He's got so much more that he wants to do and I honestly look up to his pov on life. I wouldn't mind a genuine autobiography about his life when he's elderly.

He has 111 million subs. It’s not like he’s getting 100k views on his videos, he still gets several million views on all his videos. There are still literally millions upon millions of people that still watch him. It’s not that the channel died, it’s that while he was in his biggest grind and was in competition with other people, all the people that are going to sub to him did.
He is still in the top 1% for audience and viewership. Like, the man still gets 200-300 million views a year. It’s not that the channel died, it’s just that after his big balloon of viewership, he retired and stopped trying to grow his channel. He’s content with what he has done, and he still has a very large and very loyal audience. He’s a husband and a dad, and just does videos on the side for fun, and a lot of people like that. I kinda think that I even like pewds more as someone who isn’t constantly fighting to grow his brand. He’s just a cool guy and is looked at very fondly by basically everyone and has earned everyone’s respect. Still makes millions of $ every year. He’s set and he’s happy. And he’ll always mean more to the internet than people like Mr Beast will. He built an empire through being funny and likable, not through clickbait and giveaways.
