People are really strange. He says he has retired, he does this just for fun. He doesn't need to follow a schedule, he's happy. I don't think there is exhaustion in him. It's completion.
@@p_cuda9717 As someone who is black idc that he said it in the past because it was the PAST. Plus there are way worse RUclipsrs on this platform that needs to be in jail (James Charles, Shane Dawson etc).
He’s been doing this for many years and he’s done almost every type of content. He has no reason to keep going other than keeping the 100 mil and being the face of independent creators.
He's THE legend of RUclips. But at this point he literally has achieved everything the platform can give. He has earned his retirement, and it's always good to see a rare example of a successful youtuber having kept his mental health intact and developed well as a person along the way. Great guy.
@@summersage467 bro what 😂 he literally paved the way for these bigger channels now no one even had 15 million at one point in time now there’s multiple channels over 50-100 million and pewdiepie was the start of it all
He's already won at RUclips. He's married with a loving wife, he's a millionaire, he'll always be known as one of the biggest RUclipsrs at all time... and he's been making videos for over a decade. At this point, he deserves to take breaks and even retire if that's what he wants. We'll always have mad respect for him.
I grew up watching Felix, and honestly, he deserves a break. Who cares if he quits YT? He's raised so many kids online and brought us smiles and laughs, but now it's time for him to focus on himself.
He literally became like Saitama. He entered the competition, he became the strongest, and now he has no goal to achieve, no reason to continue or to be motivated. It's amazing but kinda sad at the same time
@@walkingspoiler1449 a bad comparison tbh. If you watch his content you'd know that he's at peace with himself and his life after studying philosophy. He's also in the best shape of his life after incorporating physical exercise. I'm sure he has other ventures planned down the line as he has a business in Japan. His goals just don't revolve around RUclips anymore and that's completely fine.
"I don't know if I particularly enjoy RUclips anymore, but I'm enjoying my life more" Honestly, that's the best answer that true Bros could've ever hoped for. Even if he's retired, he would still be remembered as a legend.
PewDiePie has gone through the complete phase of a RUclipsr. The rise , the fame , the controversy , the journey etc. I also feel that with how censored RUclips has become , being hit with strikes n takedowns (I think one of his songs was taken down) , people copywriting his work etc, he's restricted with what he can say or do without the backlash of the public. He has his own thing going on now with his sponsorship deals , his merch , his games and not to mention he's a married man now he's settling down. I don't think he's bothered anymore he's doing what he likes and to be honest everyone is happy for him
The only phase he hasn't hit is the downfall, as almost all do. That's where the mad respect comes in rn. Sure there's been a bit of controversies for bs as every big tuber faces, but as far as I've seen he's done nothing to get "cancelled", if he wants to call it quits and live a life, let him.
@@insanospaz Yea that’s true. I think what sets him apart from other youtubers, is his ability to stay humble and apologize when necessary. He seems more genuine, and I like him for that. I don’t think he’ll have a downfall, ever. Maybe he’ll be more inconsistent with his uploads in the future, but I don’t think he’d ever quit.
Like is he really to blame ? , A person who has hustled his entire life , achieved almost everything an individual creator can , he is without a doubt a true veteran of youtube , a person who has witnessed the entire era of youtube . There is no problem with him taking a break cuz we all know how much this man has done , both for himself and his audience . And if that day really comes when he permanently retires , he will be marked as one of the most legendary youtuber of all time . Now that is a title not everyone can achieve !
@@Zehahahahahahahahahahahaha to have fun, enjoy the little things in life. always strive for more, never talk down on yourself or think you can't do anything. To me he seems like they matured so much that they all stopped watching him, guy has like 100m subs and only gets like 1-3 million views on his channel, that means 99-97% of his subscribers don’t watch him anymore xD
@@deleting1118 nah man just watch RUclips in passing but I don't know about the PUBG incident. What I will do is check it out. That's quiet shocking didn't realise he has said things or done things that can be deemed racist
It doesn’t matter anymore, he basically said he’s already retired and is just making videos for the sake of it. He will go down as the most famous RUclipsr of all time, he changed the entire platform.
Man his Japan vlogs are such a vibe to watch. He and his wife are giggling all the time they are oozing happiness. Idk if I would call him retired but he is more relaxed than ever. And his viewers are all happy about him. If you go to his Japan video's comment section everyone is pointing out how happy they are in Japan honestly it's refreshing to see a community being happy for the youtuber.
Can we really blame him? He has a wife now, so he's literally a happy married man. He is the biggest RUclipsr on the platform. He accomplished 90% of his goals, so what else could he really do? The only thing that’s left is to start a family, which I think he wants. RUclips isn’t really his goal or priority anymore, but rather his life from this stage. As much as he adores his fans, he has his own life to attend to right now. If he ever fully retires RUclips, I wouldn’t be mad or really all that sad, but rather congratulate him on this big journey he has put himself and us on. I grew up with his videos, so he is part of my childhood and yes, it will be sad to see him leave if he ever does, but again, it's completely okay and I wouldn't mind in the slightest. He worked super hard for more then a decade and he deserves the life he wants.
@@feister2869 either way you kinda get the point lol but yea maybe he changed his mind or maybe he wants to wait I just figured he wanted kids because he’s talked about it in a old video that I don’t remember now.
@@feister2869 He could always change his mind there were some youtubers who I watched in their younger years didn't want kids but later on began a family and were happy they did who knows maybe one day pewdiepie may do the same but if not I'm fine with him not being as motivated to do yt anymore after working on it every day for 10 years.
I actually think it's nice that he isn't so focused on sub growth anymore. It makes him seem more chill and he seems more happy overall. And his content still goes hard. Respect
@Safwaan don’t forget about the sexual harassments and assaults and the many times that people killed 10+ people and themselves. oh yeah also the underground cult leaders, club/bar owners luring people to their club/bar for sex trafficking, and pretty much every bad thing you know about. literally hell when you’re living in it but very good if you want to vacation there. and Japan is still playing the victims of WWII even though like 3 million people were raped in east asia.
Pewdiepie just might be the only person to win at RUclips. He's reached end game. He's able to choose whatever he wants to do. He can keep going, he can legitimately retire and just stop posting, I'm sure he can start just about any business he would dream of, he's not being forced to retire because of drama, he's not fed up and wants to quit. He won!
@@juiceoverflow He kinda has already. You can't expect him to not upload at all if he enjoys it, or to delete his channel or something. Slowing down like this for most people is retirement, usually one they can't come back from. Felix is so iconic though, that he has the freedom to choose when he wants to stop uploading. I'd say he may stop when he has kids, but I see him doing a whole different level of videos with his child when they are of an appropriate age (maybe).
If I’m being honest I would’ve stopped at the “ruby play button”. The amount of money and success this man has achieved makes him basically set for life.
Being the king of RUclips, Pewds literally has all he ever wanted in life. He's got a wife, a massive following, and all of the money he could ever need. The thing about being at the top is that now he doesn't really have a straight goal to make, he's already reached that point. If Felix were to ever officially retire from RUclips to focus on his personal family life, we should all support his decision.
Thats what happens when you're at the top, everything begins to feel weird and lonely, and you have no straight goals no more. It's even more depressing for Notch, he's not even living a dream life anymore, he's just this sad, depressing, successful Swedish man who has over $2 billion to spend but it more lonely than ever. That is why I never in my life want to be rich and successful, because I know it just destroys people and makes them crazy.
Agreed with that last point. A lot of people have this idea that retiring by 30 or even 40 is like a dream come true and that it should be the standard or something. My question is: What the hell are you gonna do with all that free time? It's like being stuck on Minecraft Creative Mode for the rest of your life. Sure you can do pretty much whatever the hell you want, but with no more challenge to life what is there to wake up to on a day to day? It can be depressing as hell (as seen in the case with Notch) especially when you consider that 99.9999% of people by the age of 30-40 are still working and living the normal life. I think it's important that Felix tries to find a way to replace that massive void that will inevitably appear when he finally pulls the proverbial plug on RUclips. Either that or find some way to *extremely* lower his own personal expectations on a psychological and emotional level. It's really hard for a highly ambitious person to suddenly become a "yeah I just want to live a quiet life". Maybe for the first 1-2 years he'll be relishing the stress free peace and quiet, but he'll soon get bored, and want to reignite that ambition again. All in all though he did more in 10 years than some people could do in 200 so as long as he's not too hard on himself he really can just do whatever he pleases lol
thats true, maybe after year or two... he will be bored of having everything. No more challange, no more waiting. you just go and get whatever you want, thats kinda sad. I mean, its awesome to be millionaire and run your business, but like Notch - getting infinite money at once seems like a dream but it can turn into nightmare.
if you are religious, you will never have that void, because there is always God/afterlife as objective, and considering it will never be achieved, only after death, you will never have that void if you are not religious, secularist, you fill that with purpose, to help other people, to create differences in the world etc without purpose that is bigger than oneself, there is nothing to achieve after one is super rich
You don't have to be free when you retire by choice but create and experience your own challenges and try different things with a financed backup instead of challenges being forced on you by life
@@wonderman8537 He did try? And he did succeed too, because T-Series isn't a "RUclipsr" it's a giant corporation pumping out tons of content every single day.
The man played a game, finished it, mastered it, earned all the achievements and now it's feeling like maybe playing something else. And that's alright. I would like to see felix doing other stuff where he can find satisfaction.
I remember when Google actively rooted against this guy, and he still stayed on top through all those years. The T-Series battle felt like a final ride, and I agree with the commenters who think his journey is simply complete. RUclips is a type of game, and Pewds has not only finished the main story, but taken on all the side-quests as well. There is life outside this platform, he wants to live it without being obligated to post here. Channels tend to fail when it feels like a chore, and personally, I think at 100 million subscribers, it is time to take the foot off the gas knowing you're in the history books.
Google actively rooted against prediepie? That's something I don't know. What happened? I love both Google as a company and Pewdiepie. So love to know what really happened between them. Also, I think Tseries thing isn't a battle. It's mostly a battle of one side. Most people who subscribe to Tseries don't know they are participating in the battle. Tseries is just having genuine growth. I mean if you understand India, you will know it. That is reason why even after the battle, Tseries just grew in the same rate and even passed 200M at the same speed.
@@ravitejaknts That's why pewds like to call it meme rather than movement or battle. A lot of us took it too seriously. But later realized that we don't have to make his milestone a battle with corporate.
As a doctor, i remember once having a 90+ year old patient who worked as an agricultor, and he kept going. He was slim, and in really great shape tbh, i was incredibly surprised since I'm so used to see 60 year old patients who look like they were 80, too fat, not caring about their hypertension or sugar levels, or just so worn out by life that they didn't care. Yet, there was this 90+ year old, well and sound, still working and taking care of himself. In any other instance I would have told him to chill and enjoy the rest of his life since he had the money and family support to do so, but i just stayed there talking to him and reflecting. I'm pretty sure working and staying active is what gave him all those years, it would have been foolish to tell him to stop. You can have everything in life, but to stop working and being complacent is never a good idea, being static not only brings physical health issues, it also brings your mental state down, people get depressed, stop caring about learning new stuff, even stop cleaning dishes, cleaning their home, etc. I've seen it, and in this pandemic I kinda lived it myself, being reclused and only going to work every 10 days. So, even if you have everything in life, i wouldn't recommend to ever stop working, yes, PewDiePie can take breaks, but i hope he never stop doing at least one video a week or every 2 weeks, for his well being.
You guys got it all wrong. He didn’t “lose” motivation. He just acquired a belief system(also see: philosopy) called stoicism, and it involves not caring about the results and living in a minimalistic way. In a way, he lost motivation to push for being the number 1. In stoicism, it just doesn’t matter what results he gets, and the result is that the person is happier that way. I know this is a huge simplification of the topic, but he does talk about stoicism a lot in his videos. So he pretty much treats YT now as a “hobby”, just like when he first started, and he looks happy with the decision
@@officialprincelouie I agree, people think that philosophy doesn't have any benefits of them because they worry too much about other shit when it could actually help them a lot.
It seems he kinda did lose motivation in a way. Burnout is inevitable and it comes no matter how much you enjoy something, pewdiepie isn't to much of a stoic but since he started reading books about it, he tries to follow the ideal of a stoic. It's logical to assume he's simply done with yt and feels like 100m is enough instead of simply not caring. It's clear he's emotional about it as he expressed how he feels with current yt. Nonetheless, big props to him but you know...not everything is supposed to be easy, there will come a point in his life where he will be challenged to face great adversity in his life.
As someone who's been a fan for almost a decade, it's good to see him taking a break, relaxing. He's going to keep making videos; but for fun, pure enjoyment. He's run his course; a large enough fan base amassed to keep making more casual videos, married to an amazing woman, he's clearly doing fine financially. I still tune in now and then, it feels good to see him doing well and being happier, a better person. I don't think there's anything mysterious going on or something hiding under the covers; it feels almost disrespectful when people assume so. His life has reached a comfortable point, let the man vibe.
Yessss I love that man for his contents, ain't trying to assume stuff about his personal life. All I know is he has a beautiful wife and a comfortable life ^_^
Bro on the 26th of this month it's a decade for me 😪 I remember making a channel just so I can subscribe thats literally the only reason I made youtube
For him honestly, it just came to a point where I could watch every video he puts out just to watch him and not what the video is about. What drives his videos is his personality, he's fun and hilarious whatever he is doing. Plus he's humble and relatable. I like him a lot.
I watch him for several years, I used to watch him for entertainment and now I watch him for inspiration. I started working out and I started reading because of him.
I've been following Felix before he hit 1 mill subs and recently I've been digging the more relax content. The one main point you haven't really mentioned was the fact that he has plans about living in Japan and because of this pandemic it hindered all of his goals and motivation. In his most recent video about his PC set up he kinda dropped how long he's been waiting to live in Japan and well thats where most of his new future goals lie. Hes just burnt out and stagnate right now and its understandable.
Yeah, it's safe to say that he deserves a long break. I don't even mind if he only upload a video oncea month. Anyway, how do you manage to keep your account for almost 16 years?. I can't even remember my passwords sometimes 😆.
Good thing about the move as well is he already has friends there. If he ever gets bored he could just drop by and guest host the trash taste podcast .
No matter how many channels take over pewdiepie in subscribers or views, he's already won. He was number 1 for six years and he gave most of us a childhood. He'll be remembered in the RUclips community for a very very long time. Plus, I'm sure he'll still take part in projects like a MrBeast video or anything else. If Felix decides to retire, he deserves it, but since he's 33 I know he'd like to do some stuff as he'll probably be around for many decades to come.
Watching his old clips shows you how he's still the same humble person he is now. That's why it's so frustrating when someone who doesn't watch him defines his character with his controversies. His personality has been consistent for literal decades, something you can't fake on the Internet with how nosy people are. He's genuinely just a nerdy dude who opened himself online unlike influencers nowadays that jump on social media for either the proven success you can get on the platform or for more narcissistic reasons.
I wouldn't blame the guy. Felix is a hard worker, he's basically youtubes heart and soul from how influential he has been to the site. He deserves a happy life, but if he's losing motivation because of the state of youtube I don't blame him, especially when their channels that take advantage of their audience, only appeal to one country, or just manipulate the algorithm, you begin to see why he's losing motivation. I never really wat he'd his content growing up, but nonetheless I still heavily respect and recognize what he has done for not only the internet, but pop culture as a whole. If there's one thing I learned, is that it's best that they leave on their own terms and be remembered for their prime instead of trying to draw out everything until it lingers, to the point where you are remembered as being the person that tried to cling onto what little was left of their success.
that last point u made is what i feel is the problem we are all moving towards right now.Years from now MrBeast may not be the top creator on youtube and he wud hav a similar dilemma to Pewds,on how to move forward. If u arent gonna enjoy what ur doin then starting afresh wud be the best option. However if u love what ur doin but the previous majority audience drops off then just not bothering about them wud be most logical, just like how Pewds does rt now

I'm loving his vlogs ever since he moved to Japan. It's like a miniseries about his after-retirement life. No pressure on the schedule of his videos, just enjoying his life while filming it. Pretty cool.
I’ve never really watched his videos consistently in the past, but ever since he moved to Japan I’ve looked forward to all his videos, especially the Japan vlogs. And those are edited by Marzia. They have a very relaxed, loving life feel to them.
RUclips has fucked him over for years, no wonder he’s burnt out and wants to take a break. He’s also a married man now, and I’m sure he realized that life has more to it than uploading videos. I’ve watched his videos since 2015, and genuinely love the way he grew with his channel. He’s such a good guy, very humble and smart at the same time. Wishing nothing but the best for Marzia and Pewds!
@@lylelylecrocodile2538 I means in some controversies YT want to him being removed from platform because of RUclips's in prudent on people at the top because T series is just a boycott of original songs.
There should be a youtube hall of fame reserved for veteran youtubers who retired with honor. Pewdiepie might have been involved in some drama, but it was nowhere as disgusting as certain youtubers. Either way, Ryan Higa would definitely belong there.
@@possesedcake5422 Burnt out. His entire team/friends left as well. He just sorta disappeared in early 2020 and made his return by streaming on Twitch. At the end of 2020/beginning of 2021 he also streamed on RUclips to assure everyone that he's fine. Nowadays he just streams and plays with OTV streamers and sometimes reacts to his old content, he has said that he might return to making that type of content again but for now, he has pretty much quit RUclips.
He is still popular (obviously not as he used to be) which is not shocking, he has an amazing community that is loyal, he has seemingly a perfect and happy life. He is also genuine and nice, but a break is the only thing he hasn't gotten until now, it's deserved tenfold for the work he has done for over a decade and I'm glad he has took it for the past few years.
As someone who used to watch Marzia's videos back in the mid 2010's, I remember she used to sometimes say things like she wished he wouldn't work as much. To be honest I'm surprised they're still together considering he only seems to have taken a step back more recently. Hope he cultivates his life outside RUclips more now. Good for him
The thing that a lot of people don’t understand is that even though he is now successful, he is still very Swedish in his core. Which to some people might not mean anything but as a Swede myself I can tell you it does, especially when it does to money and success. You’ve never seen him show of his money, wealth or status. Which is inherently a very Swedish thing. The core Swedish mentality is that you’re never better then your neighbor. It doesn’t matter if you’re a doctor or an actor or a teacher, you are not better then anyone else. Showing off your wealth and success is very frowned upon in Swedish society. Not because you don’t deserve success, but because by showing off you’re making yourself out to be better then everyone else. There is a great video where Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgård talks about how he can’t sleep at night because he doesn’t know where he should hide his Emmy. Not because he isn’t proud of it but because he feels embarrassed bragging about it. Pewdiepie is the same. He wouldn’t spend a life savings amount of money on shoes and cars like some young RUclipsrs do because “flexing” isn’t something that comes naturally to him. Rather it makes him uncomfortable. He has said so himself in a few videos. He doesn’t feel the desire to buy a mansion because he doesn’t need it. He could, but he doesn’t need it. The Swedish founder of IKEA drove the same old Volvo for 40 years until the day he died, which is like the only thing Swedish people loved about him. Never showing off his wealth despite being the 4th richest man in the world when he was alive.
Honestly I don't know what else Pewdiepie would have to accomplish. 100 million subscribers, been through damn near every era of youtube, an eternal legend of the platform. He's earnt his retirement, and I'm glad he's still here with us in a more relaxed environment.
If Felix quit RUclips this month I’d still watch everything he has posted in the past for years to come. I genuinely like him and his content, been watching since he started we are the same age so it’s like watching a child hood friend grow into the person he is today. And I’ve been watching all of it and will continue to do so!! FLOOR GANG
Dude has a wife, millions of dollars, and not too long ago reached 100m subs after years and years of being on the youtube grind. Hes made it. Nothing to do when you make it other than just chill and be happy. when you keep trying to push the limits and never stop reaching higher then you'll never be content with what you have.
To be completely honest I think RUclips has passed him by. The youtube Pewdiepie dominated was entirely personality or skill based in terms of games. Nowadays the production value from the most popular channels is crazy, and I think he’s made enough money where he just doesn’t really care enough to do the crazy stuff the massive youtubers of today do. I think you see similar things from others who’ve dominated their respective platforms in the past, I’m not saying Ninja is anything like Pewdiepie, but in a similar sense they both just do whatever they want on stream/in videos respectively. Same can be said for DanTDM. All these successful internet personas of the days of yore are just being themselves because they’ve made it. Good for Pewdiepie, feeling satisfied is a great thing.
TBH I think his current content is some of the most enjoyable he’s ever made. Moving to Japan was definitely the right choice to make. He seems to really enjoy himself and be very happy and chill in the latest videos. He’s also in the same or nearly same time zone as CinnamonToastKen, which means more great content together!
@@Nthdegree2 He wanted to move to Japan for several years and talked about it a lot over the years.. Japanese culture is actually pretty similar to Swedish culture in many ways, especially socially. There's even an town in Japan that is built to be a copy of mid-Sweden Dalarna area called Sweden Hills. Pewds always had a fascination about Japanese culture.
Beautiful video, so many emotional moments. Super happy for all of the success PewDiePie has had and wishing him all the best with whatever he focuses his energy on. He's like a real-life version of All Might from My Hero Academia, an icon of an individual creator in the world of RUclips
He’s also like All Might in that he's caused many controversies, I don’t think I need to explain that for Pewds. For All Might, his actions “accidentally” have helped to not only support the oppression of people who have “villainous” quirks but also people just walking past injustice more often than before All Might.
there's no need to make this sound like a sad(?) topic actually. if he loses interest then its obvious, he did youtube for years. the fame, the rise n fall, he experienced it all. he needs all the break he needs plus he pretty much accomplished everything in his life so far. whatever he decides, i would pretty much support it. if he leaves, yes we all would be sad but its his choice and its for the best, mentally & physically. much love & support for him.
I think people are just digging way too deep into this. He can upload a video a month and still have enough money for him and his family to live off for their rest of their life. The dude has been working his ass off for RUclips. If he wants to take a break or work less, he damn well can
yes!! and honestly i like how relaxed and how genuinely happy he is right now in his content. I grew up watching him and now that I'm older i enjoyed his new videos more because with how many drama in the yt community and most of the popular youtubers being ungenuine right now, watching him feels like coming home after a tiring day
Felix already achieved almost everything and what he wanted to achieve for 10 years now, It's honestly a good way to end, he retired not because of a controversy, decline of views, or personal problems outside of RUclips, but because he already achieved what an independent individual can do in RUclips. This man is a legend who will never be forgotten of his accomplishments
I started watching Pewds a long time ago, when I was kid. Now being 20 and still seeing him mature with me gives me a blissful and a wholesome feeling that I can’t quite explain. We were the original 9year olds. And until the day he stops uploading I will continue to support him, as he supported my mental health though the years.
I love how you make vids and research content, I respect it for Felix, he's played the game for over a decade and reached the highest of highs, and now probably by the end of this year Mr Beast is probably gonna past him and take on the role of being on top while still mastering the algorithm
Despite the two major controversies of his career he seems to be a great person. Watching him deal with his successs and public criticisms, fair and unfair ones, was quite the learning experience for a lot of people whether they were a public figure or just a random kid. I used to read a lot before spending my days on the internet and his book review series made me get back into extensive reading and made me explore other old hobbies again. Felix is one of those idol figures that you learn from not just by their own behaviour but also simply by how their place as a "constant" has shaped the culture around them.
@@97itachiuchiha he paid some Indian Fiverr dude to write Hitler did nothing wrong on a piece of cardboard. His intention was to show in a joking way how these platforms like Fiverr have no limits on the type of "work" you can hire people for. But it was taken by the media as if that's what he genuinely meant to say and that led to a massive meltdown which resulted in RUclips changing their revenue policies for channels.
I watched him when I was 15 starting with Amnesia. I lost interest a bit when his fame was starting to change the videos, but as someone who grew up to study Philosophy in university, I came back to him later and really appreciate his down to earth nature and book reviews, especially about Philosophy. It is great to use that large base to spread knowledge many might not hear about otherwise. He also kept me in the loop with current memes when I was busy lol
He deserves the breaks, really he does. He's been on RUclips over 10 years. He's the only person to battle an entire corporation for the most subbed channel.
Same thing for a normal 9-5 job everyone needs a break and theres soo many RUclipsrs that actually care and put effort in there videos that have been on RUclips before 11 years...
There is no deep or sad meaning behind his retirement. He's married, is probably thinking about starting a family (or just IRL stuff in general), has made more money than he could ever need, and is generally happy with what he has achieved. It's not T-series or any other channel that has overtaken him or even loss of motivation. He's just moved on and that's ok.
No matter who has the most subscribers in 1 or 2 years he will always be the king of RUclips . He has achieved more than a single person person could dream to achieve and more than that what a single youtuber could dream to achieve . He has yet not quit and drops a video 1 or 2 days I still watch it and just feel relaxed watching . No matter what he does in the future and even if he quits . He will always be a legend and the true goat of RUclips at least for me
@@rajveerkanojiya2985 Yeah, no. As much as I love Mrbeast, PewDiePie and his milestone when compared is like from the Sun to Proxima Centauri. RUclips was harder then, as it was mentioned in the video, the birth of the website. MrBeast grew at RUclips's peak with a load of luck with the algorithm. Where I got recommended a video where he literally prayed to an Asian sticker when he was still at 80k subs. I appreciate them both, but even if Mrbeast passes PewDiePie, Jimmy himself would probably still say that PewDiePie is still the King of RUclips.
hes been doing this for years and years now, he's made millions, survived being cancelled so many times. hes probably just tired now and wanting to settle down and do his own thing, working any job for the time he has is bound to get boring.
From how I see it.. he's seemingly done everything he could in the last decade. I personally respect if he would decide to wrap things up or keep things casual, like how Ryan Higa went. Hoping he gets to enjoy what he can now! His legacy is set in stone now, even if his numbers subside.
I think this video essentially summed it up…simply put, RUclips isn’t the most important thing in Felix’s life anymore. He’s now happily married and he’s made so much money doing RUclips that he doesn’t need to work another day for the rest of his life. I’ve been a PewDiePie fan for a really long time and I have to tip my cap to him. Now it’s not a matter of me looking forward to his uploads everyday, but now when he does upload a video, it feels like a nice little present to discover. With RUclips nowadays, it’s so easy to find new high quality content creators when back during his boom, they were few and far between. There’s also the fact that he’s been the target of so many smear campaigns and tabloid journalism. During the height of his popularity, it felt like there was always a drama channel or hell, the Wall Street frigging Journal trying to find some way to slander him. To be honest, I applaud him for getting through that stretch because it must have been so draining day-in and day-out to deal with that BS. So all-in-all, congrats to Felix for having one of, if not, the most single successful careers in the history of RUclips. He certainly deserves it and he deserves to have the spotlight taken off him so he can actually enjoy his life outside of RUclips.
He's more than deserved his retirement after entertaining and inspiring so many people for 10 years straight, especially these last few years. The man out of all people started my interest in books and stoicism with his videos, literally changed my life, i wish all the best for him.
One thing I don’t understand, I follow him since I was young , even now I’m still with him , im in love with this character, his motives and his personality ,even if he uploads less , why would people just unfollow him ? Don’t we love him as a person? Not a content creating machine I mean if the amount you upload will make people wanna follow you , then people can just continuously upload crap content, but that’s not the case
I cant blame Felix for not trying anymore. the fact that he still cares about us by just making videos is good enough. Felix came a looooooong way and I do think he deserves a good vacation with Martzia.. Plus, hes a good guy, never caused any problems in my books.
I've been passively watching Pewdiepie since about 2014 or so, and I'm honestly just kinda proud of him. He worked hard to get to the top and he deserves the fruits of his labour
Even tho he isn't most subscribed he is still definitely the goat of youtube and always will be. When he stops making videos we will all be able to go back and remember how inspiring and motivated he was to make us all happy
Mad respect to pewds for reaching 100M subs tho. Right now youtube is just a farm for corporate companies to expand their reach and eventual growth as they continue to upload 10 videos per day. Just sad to see that youtube which was a platform for independent creators to share experiences on slowly turning into a platform where companies just monopolize on.
I think its so cool to see someone you’ve watched for over a decade starting to cool down. Felix and I are the same age, and it’s been an interesting experience to see how our lives have evolved together from totally different perspectives. I have found myself several times over the years comparing myself to Felix, and the juxtaposition has been partially jealousy/envy and partially thankfulness. When I think about being in his position, not having goals to strive for, and feeling like I’ve already accomplished everything life has to offer by 31, being recognized everywhere I go, having the eyes of the world constantly on me, but also being set for life without having to worry about literally anything ever again, I’m really not sure that I’d trade spots with him. There are some pretty crazy perks of being a normal dude that has a normal life, and it’s important to remember that. Truly hope the best for the guy. He deserves a good rest with his family after grinding to provide entertainment for a hundred million people for a decade.
He is and forever will be the unchallenged king of RUclips. He has changed and improved so many lives and if he wants to slow down and be more mature as we all age I'm here for it. The day he stops will be a painful day for sure but I will cherish the time we had with him
RUclips has become a corporate sh!tshow. Their focus on big brand businesses over content creators is such an issue. I feel like this is one of the biggest reasons PewDiePie isn't as motivated.
The fact this video completely leaves out the fact he got cancelled not just once, but twice, shows where YT is today. You either tow the corporate line or be destroyed. It's just not a platform for individual edgy content anymore. The spirit of Pewdiepie that YT was built on is well and truly dead, and so is his motivation.
Was never in the Pewdiepie train or even watched his content at all, but after watching this video he definitely deserved it through his hard work & grind. Your videos have given me insight to many channels I don't even watch, gotta respect that
He probably accomplished everything youtube related. He's one of the most of not the most recognizable channel, has created a massive audience over the past 10 years, stayed on top for so long that, even today he's considered the biggest youtuber and has influenced a whole generation. I think he might just as well retire or post videos less often, just to hang out with us. He has a family after all and, with all the money he's made from RUclips, he can pretty much maintain himself for the rest of his life. I wish the best for him no matter what decision he takes
As someone who watches his videos, I think he is very happy right now. He post videos that are interesting to him; philosophy, books, etc. I don't know if he lost motivation but he's definitely in a good place.
As Pewdiepie’s channel “matured” for lack of better wording, his sub counts slowed down, simple as that. Guys like Mr Beast (while he did start his channel “technically” a while ago, he did not start making the types of videos he does now, until relatively recently in the grand scheme of RUclips) have it WAAAAAAAAY easier then guys like Felix ever did. Mr Beast makes videos for kids in an era where there are millions upon millions more children/teens on RUclips then there ever has been in the history of the website (as can be seen if you look up viewership on RUclips over the years). Felix stopped catering to pre-teens and became a much more mature channel. He stopped trying not to swear, he does book reviews, talks about philosophy sometimes, and doesn’t really game much anymore. It’s a whole different game now. It’s like comparing MJ to Lebron, back in the day people weren’t scoring 10,000 points per game, so you can’t really say “well who made the most hoops?” Same here. You can’t really say “oh well Mr Beast would’ve passed Pewdiepie no matter what. Simply not the case. If Felix had started his channel at a time when kids were on this site like they are now, dude would probably be celebrating damn near 200Mil.
Been subbed to him since he had 900k, and I can definitely say that he has made my childhood and life in general so much more enjoyable over all the years. Wish him the best off luck
He has given me years and years of entertainment and would watch him everyday after school. He was and still is a warm kind hearted soul that deserves it to take it easy.
From just a random hotdog selling guy to a legend on the internet living the best of life with his wife. He had truly come a long way, I've been watching him since elementary and I've grown with him; I thank Felix for making my childhood fun and wacky.
He has been doing RUclips for so long that it's no wonder he's tired of it. He is the most subscribed youtuber in history after all, he went though everything a youtuber could.
Super happy to see all the supportive messages! I wish felix would see, how everyone supports him on whatever he is doing now. As long as he is happy, we are happy too. And thats all that matters.
The thing with pewdiepie is that he and his content is constantly evolving. When his content has become stale he has matured as a person and moved on to something new.
We can se this quite clearly looking back 2013-2014, he was young and naive so the content was quite cringe. Then he started to take inspiration from filthy frank and become more edgy. Then he matured and moved away to content more like shows (memereview, pewnews and lwiay).
People are really strange. He says he has retired, he does this just for fun. He doesn't need to follow a schedule, he's happy. I don't think there is exhaustion in him. It's completion.

PewDiePie has gone through the complete phase of a RUclipsr.
I mean, its awesome to be millionaire and run your business, but like Notch - getting infinite money at once seems like a dream but it can turn into nightmare.
if you are religious, you will never have that void, because there is always God/afterlife as objective, and considering it will never be achieved, only after death, you will never have that void
if you are not religious, secularist, you fill that with purpose, to help other people, to create differences in the world etc
without purpose that is bigger than oneself, there is nothing to achieve after one is super rich

Kind of urelated but, Philosophy is severely underrated for how interesting and insightful it actually is, at least to me.
@@officialprincelouie I agree, people think that philosophy doesn't have any benefits of them because they worry too much about other shit when it could actually help them a lot.
That's a fact.
sure....

Yessss I love his humble personality
Felix not Alex

If Felix had started his channel at a time when kids were on this site like they are now, dude would probably be celebrating damn near 200Mil.
if pewds kept up the youtube game like he used to he would be closing in on 200 mill to.

He is the most subscribed youtuber in history after all, he went though everything a youtuber could.
i enjoy his content atm. he is chill, and it feels like he actually enjoys what he is doing!
14:01 this is a really nice picture of SunnyV2 and Pewdiepie, glad they could meet up
😂
Super happy to see all the supportive messages! I wish felix would see, how everyone supports him on whatever he is doing now. As long as he is happy, we are happy too. And thats all that matters.
The thing with pewdiepie is that he and his content is constantly evolving. When his content has become stale he has matured as a person and moved on to something new.
We can se this quite clearly looking back 2013-2014, he was young and naive so the content was quite cringe. Then he started to take inspiration from filthy frank and become more edgy. Then he matured and moved away to content more like shows (memereview, pewnews and lwiay).
