What's your favorite meatless recipe?
vegan collards! Collards cooked in veggie broth, chopped sweet onion, petite diced tomatoes (I use canned), olive oil, salt and maybe 1/2 tsp sugar. Cook until they are done to your liking.
I make a vegetarian shepherd’s pie that uses black eyed peas instead of meat and it is so delicious! My mom has been a vegetarian for years but even my meat eaters love it!
I love a salad that is chock full of every vegetable and beans like garbanzos and oil and vinegar dressing.
None... I eat the perfect human diet in order to thrive. Beef, butter, bacon, & eggs!!!! Cut everything else out and eat only that and watch anything that ails you disappear or drastically improve. Depression, eczema, psoriasis, inflammation, seizures stop, weight loss, joint pain goes away, some cancers even go away or shrink. Carnivore.... research Dr ken Berry
I make a delicious and super filling mushroom risotto. I make it with riced cauliflower and it’s almost just like the real thing. I stay away from rice and noodles, and using the cauliflower makes the calories so darned less. And I’ve shared with other who didn’t even realize that the “risotto “ was actually cauliflower. I use frozen and have a trick to get it very consistent to real risotto.
I am so happy Paula is being introduced to a healthier lifestyle, although not very convinced. I have been WFPB, SOS FREE (WHOLE FOOD PLANT BASED, SUGAR ,OIL & SALT FREE) for over ten years since I turned 70! If Paula ever embraces this lifestyle, she will be a great poster child in the plant world because she will come up with the most innovative ways to convert old recipes to healthier ones that are still fabulous. Learning how to cook delicious food that can prevent and reverse many chronic diseases is so thrilling. Paula, good luck in finding a health-promoting lifestyle.
That is never going to happen, she reminds me of my mother in law. We never agreed on food but we came to understanding and appreciation.
Me, too - 12 years WFPB vegan. SAVED my life, truly.
The episode title is very misleading. She is not going vegan, she may be trying a plant based meal but definitely not vegan. Being vegan is a lifestyle of compassion and empathy for the unnecessary suffering of animals.
I’ve been plant based for almost 5 years, started when I was 66! ❤
@@lydiadailey7 7.3 billion animals are killed annually due to farming (aka VEGAN DIET). Thus being “Vegan” is no more compassionate than being a nonvegan.
I went oil free vegan 6 yrs ago in my 60’s and feel so much better. It’s just a new way of cooking. You can water sauté veggies and it won’t stick. I eat 90% raw, bought a nama J2 juicer and juice veggies and fruit..a whole new way of eating. You tubers have really taught me a lot about eating healthy.
Amazing! I just started eating vegan! Do you recommend any channels?
PB with J, Kathy Hester, brocoli mom, rainbow plant life, plant based with Jane and Ann Esselstyn, Merle O’Neal, Miyoko Schinner, Gaz Oakley, Totally Forkable, Sauce Stache
I did a raw vegan challenge eight years ago and I totally fell in love with a plant-based diet. I'm not strict to vegan but the possibilities are exciting. Some channels I like are The whole food plant based cooking show, Nutrition Refined, Well Your World, Pick up Limes.
@@onesam2goChef AJ and Broccoli Mum.
Agree with Melissa’s suggested channels - also Well Your World YT channel is excellent!!!
glad to see vegan recipes! Vegan 34 years and vegetarian 26 years prior to that.
wow this is such an inspiration 34 years! I''m 36 went vegetarian at 13. I've seen a lot of people leaving veganism for health reason but I think it's because they do a super restrictive side of vegan like they are just raw or only eat potatoes.
I just recently went on a 6 month vegan diet and dropped my cholesterol 60 points . 🙌🏼.
We actually need cholesterol. Our brains, our hormones, and our cells literally are made from cholesterol. Research more. The makers of statins want to make money, and they fund the research to vilify saturated fats and cholesterol. The processed food industry funds false research as well. Take the time to dig deeper to find the truth.
Please more of the two of you together! This was fun to watch. The two of you together is lovely! Claudia you could have your own vegan cooking show.
I think Paula Deen really hit the jackpot when she got her daughter-in-law's❤❤❤❤ I was so involved in what they were cooking I didn't even hear the music I had to go back to see if there was music😂
At first, the music was louder than the ladies.
I don’t believe Paula for one minute about that food
Your daughter in law should have her own vegan cooking show that would be amazing
As a vegan that used to cook like Paula, you do have to give your taste buds time to detox. Fresh uncomplicated food tastes so much better after your tongue has detoxed❤. I love how Paula is so loving and accepting and is her authentic self in the process.
I feel sorry for you. Vegetarian diets led me to full blown eating disorder, and almost death. Never again. I just don't eat beef or pork as always, and cook normally.
@@krislic84nobody cares if you feel sorry for vegetarians just because you werent smart enough to follow a proper diet. You blame everyone else for your problems, i guess? It’s like a sickness some people have. Good luck.
@krislic84 I feel sorry for the people who are eating animal based products that clog up their arteries and encourage cancer.
Heart attacks, strokes, etc.
Agreed. It took about 3-4 weeks. You just have to ride it out.
@@krislic84 so ok…because you chose to malnourish yourself, vegetarians are bad people that you feel sorry for? Eating disorder indicates that you have mental illness, nothing to do woth vegetarian diets. I hope you have gotten professional help, dearie.
Paula Deen! I just love Cloud! She could have her own vegan restaurant if she wanted too. Bobby is a blessed young man and what a blessing for you, Paula.
Loved this video Paula. You look fabulous, BTW!❤
Thankyou ladies!Paula you have such a vibrant healthy daughter in law , both of yous are a breathe of fresh air!❤
These days our world can be a bit intense, so it was nice to see the 2 of you in a relaxing cooking video. Quinoa looks yummy & would love to have that salad.
Cloud has really turned out to be a treasure! Bobby & this little gal are a good team. I know from watching him cook that he LOVES this healthy cooking. Cloud was so sweet to her MIL on this program. Paula, hope you will have her on more often! There are lots of us southerners who are eating more this way all the time. 💕
I soo enjoyed this. I love ur and daughter in law’s interaction. The music was fine to me. I hope to see more
Hands down, this is the best Paula Deen video I’ve seen in a long time!! She is so sweet and really cares to please you. We hope you have her on more often. I love she did vegan also. I can’t wait to try this simple recipe as I navigate making positive changes in my diet. ♥️
Coconut oil is a high saturated fat. It was one of the things that drove up my cholesterol and blood pressure on a Vegan Diet. Switched back to a whole food Plant based diet, oil and sugar free and dropped my cholesterol and my blood pressure in a short time. Off the meds with in 2 months, have lost 52 lbs eating healthy over 4 months, and aches and pains are gone with the reduction of body inflammation. A vegan diet can be either healthy or very unhealthy, as people may not realize Coke and Oreos are vegan. Stick to the fruits and Veggies, and avoid the foods with lots of oil and high saturated fats like coconut and palm oils, if you are trying to reduce blood pressure or reverse type 2 diabetes, while losing weight. This was my personal experience.
Coconut oil is very healthy for us--it increases GOOD cholesterol and controls blood sugar levels. :o)
@@josie4peace saturated fats increased my bad cholesterol. Not my good cholesterol, there are plenty of things in a healthy diet that will raise your good cholesterol. Saturated fats is not one of them. Eating a healthy plant-based diet, will balance your cholesterol as needed, you don't need to add oil which is all processed to your body. It's one thing if you're eating coconut, but adding saturated coconut oil to your meals is more than what our bodies are meant to have.
Coconut sugar is high on the glycemic table. It actually measures the same as white sugar. It is not great for diabetics at all. She is very sweet though. I enjoyed the episode. Thank you.
Kim, yes totally agree, sugar is sugar no matter where it comes from. Coconut sugar is still sugar.
@@Donna-zc9iisugar is not sugar. Date sugar is simply ground dates. The fruit, the whole fruit.
I’m vegan but if you want to be healthy, eliminate ALL oils. You will reverse most human health diseases if you go whole food, 100% plant based. I am a biologist.
The “missing amino acids” is a MYTH. Eat plant based and you get plenty of protein.
There’s a fascinating documentary on Netflix about a doctor who places an ad on Los Angeles(?) Craigslist, asking for people with the worst cases of diabetes to contact him. He has them come to his facility in the Palms Springs area and teaches them how to cook vegan, hot, dishes. After teaching them, he has them cooking their own meals, to give them an experience of what it’s like to cook for themselves. Day by day, all fifteen(except one) starts feeling better and better, and by day 15, fourteen of them had no Diabetes symptoms. He took them off their Diabetes medication. They still had Diabetes, with no symptoms. The one person who hadn’t improved his health, left the facility after a couple of days because he said he couldn’t give up his junk food. A year later, the doctor called all fourteen of them, and everyone had stayed on the whole foods, vegan diet, and felt great.
Yum! It’s only 5 AM on west coast. But, after watching this, I’m ready for dinner! Great easy healthy recipes. Thanks Deen family!
OOhweee I know what you mean. Yesterday I was like that because I woke up knowing I was making my beans and rice with chicken adobo for dinner, and now it looks like I know what I’m making tonight. 😂😋
Your daughter in law is so funny I enjoyed this so much I love her accent
What a delightful daughter in law you have!!
Quinoa is great! She forgot to mention -- it needs to be rinsed off a bit in cool water (in a fine sieve held under running water - maybe 30 seconds). That helps remove any of the naturally bitter "saponins". Nature protects quinoa from being eaten by insects/pests by giving quinoa this light saponin bitterness, easily removed. Rinsing and then cooking (or toasting) make for no bitterness. Healthier than rice.
Coconut sugar is a plant-based, anti-inflammatory sweetener, that has a low-glycemic index, meaning our bodies absorb the sugars at a slower rate.
Coconut sugar generally falls around 35 on the GI scale, whereas table sugar ranks between 60 and 65
GI is not a reliable source to determine how much a food will cause a blood glucose spike. Glycemic load is more accurate way to know how a food will affect blood glucose, but even then, there are many factors that can change the way a particular food is absorbed. Example…the amount eaten (100g vs 500g) or eating a sugary food on an empty stomach vs eating it with protein, fat, & fiber. It also depends on a person’s genetic makeup & body chemistry & how well they absorb said food. Lastly table sugar and ALL forms of sugar are also “plant based” (sugar cane is a plant). Both white sugar & coconut sugar are processed, as are all other forms of sugar EXCEPT for natural sugars found in *whole* fruits & vegetables. So eating an actual coconut will not impact your blood sugar like processed coconut sugar.
This was so refreshing, I would love to see more plant based vegan recipes.
Enjoyed! I make riced cauliflower into fried rice. I sautee bell pepper, onion, seasonings of choice in lite olive oil with frozen riced cauliflower and cook scrambled eggs seasoned with black pepper on the side and stir into cauliflower when cauliflower is cooked through.
I have to laugh. When people hear it’s vegetarian or vegan they immediately set judgement. They are afraid to try it for fear of what? but will try any food with meat in it without a second thought and not knowing what strange things are in it. Because of heart disease I had to change my diet. I have learned to love the taste of vegetables, grains, legumes without being smothered in butter, cheese and bacon. It’s amazing how I love the taste of the real food. I have lived 27 years beyond my heart surgery. There are so many wonderful foods out there that make eating healthy a fun adventure and not a life sentence.
It shocks me how aggressive "carnivores" can get.
I love your recipes so early each day after I had my pray time. I look forward to these every day. God Bless You Paula❤🌹💕
Y'all are adorable, smart, talented, loving women❣️ So glad that you have each other❣️
I love how feisty Claud is.
She’s a doll Paula❣️Thank you for sharing her and her cuisine with us. Looks so colorful and appetizing.
Looks yummy I love Veggies!!! I love Coconut Sugar I have to add extra or I make my own mix of half and half white sugar half coconut sugar. I was putting it in my coffee...the verdict is still out. I'm trying to add more healthy NEW things in my diet. Thank you Claudia and Paula💝🩵💚💕🥗🪻🦋🌹💝💕❣️🌸 Love y'all so much!!! 😘
-same here .. vegan !-
Paula.. love that ur teaching vegan I hope this is a regular segment ❤❤❤
I enjoyed claud and her recipes.
Paula you are such a a gracious host. You made your daughter in law feel so comfortable in your kitchen. Your suggestions along the way made improvements to her already wonderful recipes. The desert was something I would make for a power snack for hiking, around the house, but would have to add the walnuts to them. She is adorable and it is fun to watch the two of you interact. Speaking of Goulash, would love for you to make and share. Love and best dishes from my family to yours. Be blessed
Claudia is a dear! Would love to see more of her recipes 😊.
Love it! Give the gal her own cooking show!
Claudia and Bobby to live cooking tutorials on their IG and FB page.
Loving every minute of this.
I love Paula’s honesty
I didn't believe Paula Deen was going vegan. But it's so funny that the queen of butter has a vegan daughter in-law 🤣
Glad to see yummy vegan meals and no animals were harmed 😀
I love seeing you two cooking together 💕 My brother once sat on a plane next to Paula. He had the best time, he said what a nice fun lady she is. 💖
I was so happy when I found this video with Paula Deen! I just love Paula!❤ I am vegetarian and I want to go vegan. I enjoy recipes like the ones on the video with quinoa and veggies. I like recipes that are easy and have common ingredients.
16:52 It looks like it needs "BUTTER" 😂😂🤣🤣 🧈🧈🧈🧈
All of these recipes look so delicious 😋 Paula and Claudia.
daughter in law nice n smart.🎉
I love your daughter in law recipes so much I shared them with my granddaughter and daughter.. They will watch your RUclips channel for more.😁 Thanks
I am so excited to get my vegan recipes ❤
-vegan here .. !-
It was fun watching the banter between you and your daughter in law! 💕🌸💕
It’s about time Paula took responsibility for her own health! Thank you, daughter in law! 🙏 I’ve been an ethical vegan and strict WFPB eater for 35 years…
I had some homemade hummus, tabbouleh, and whole wheat pita chips to celebrate cinco de mayo today LOL very untraditional. so glad to see you again Paula!
Love this episode.
This showed up on my algorithm.. I was grinning ear to ear.. I miss my Paula Deen
Thank you Claudia. I can’t wait to make this!
This looks great! I'd love to see more of Claud's recipes! :) Thank you!!
-her name is : claudia-
-not : " claud "-
Vegan recipes?! This is the reason I clicked on this video!! Thank you!!! ❤😊🎉
Looks delicious. I love a quinoa salad at potlucks and yet to make. Thank you for showing how easy.😊
Two beautiful women with strong cooking ideas and opinions…. Loved this
I can't wait to make these recipes. Thank you.
love the intro music
Very sweet video, ya'll clearly love each other and that's wonderful! Vegan myself for 5 months now and feeling much better! Fav meatless recipe, so far is simple minestrone soup.
youy both taught each other somnething new and showed loved doing it yum great job cloud
That meal looks delicious. I will try it.
My son pleaded with me for months to do carnivore. I was hospitalized for covid then my sugar jumped up to 300 from meds and diet. While in the hospital. I came home did carnivore for 1 month. I got off of insulin and lost 32 lbs. My dr was amazed. So was I. I didn't have to take any diabetic meds. Deviled eggs were great for snacks. And all the meat you want. Drank lots of water. Carnivore really works.
Luv the vegan recipes. Would love more like this
I absolutely love vegan meals, have been vegan for 2 years!
~~~ OK. I'll be the first to say this:
1. I simply cannot afford to eat 'healthy.'
2. I also cannot afford a recliner for my spine problems.
3. And, my mattress is completely broken now. Seriously.
(I'm 60ish, & have several health 'issues.')
~~~~ Hey! Paula!
You're looking great lady! God bless you & your family. ❤❤
I'm over 15y WFPB , 4y SOS
Happy , soooo happy to see you embrass this Paula....
I have to mention Paula's haircut and style, I love it!!! Your makeup and the color of your shirt Paula, this is the new you!!! Enjoyed the video so much. You have a wonderful family Paula.
That video is YEARS old. But her hair was nice in it.
This is old video
@@doreen9838 Yes, it's very old.
thanks for this, I went whole food plant based due to health. But I do miss the southern everything lol. I'm glad you are doing things for everyone.
Thank you🎉
That really looked delicious and very healthy! Thank you for this video
This meal looked delicious. Paula is so funny. How she said the dessert was not her favorite. Such a sweet daughter-in-law. Mayb you can eat vegetarian one day a week. Enjoyed this cooking video.😘🌹
I loved this episode her daughter in law is so beautiful and she has such a sweet personality. I think she should have her own cooking channel cuz I really enjoyed watching her.
Paula is so entertaining!
Good morning Paula and Claud 🙋♀️ Enjoyed the video ❤😊 Love quinoa and salad ❤❤😊 Thanks for sharing ❤️😊
That looks really good , i can eat a giant bowl of everything
Super great video today ❤🌹
I think that I'll stick to the buttermilk biscuits and melted butter with some strawberry jam or apple butter. Eating healthier is a good thing. Great video
You two are adorable...💕thank you for sharing your vegan recipes🤙
Claudia is delightful!!
Love being plant based, yummy food.
nice info ingredients n recipe. thxs tumm
Just came across this video. It’s great to see a vegan dish prepared. 🥗
Continue with some vegan cooking. We all need more recipes like that.
"And my son HAS to eat this stuff every night?" That doesn't sound very nice to me. I would be reading into that statement too! It is so hard to convince people that healthy food actually tastes good. You could learn a lot about good food from your daughter-in-law. Listen to her and don't judge before you try it.
Love you Paula Deen. So glad your back on new a platform. You look great!
Positively Paula was a show produced on the Paula Deen Network which was a paid streaming subscription that unfortunately didn't last long. This episide is at least 8-9 years old.
She played it off well. Good job Paula
Very good Paula!
Oh your daughter in law is precious and I think she needs to do 1 vegan meal on this channel or start her own. If her cooking satisfies your son who is used to yummy comfort food then it’s good. I bet they could do a vegan show together. We are what we eat so I love that she’s a clean eater. Blessings!
Let me clarify 1 vegan meal a week!
Claudia and Bobby do live cooking on their IG and FB page.
Love!!!
Cane sugar is natural. It’s from a plant too.
I researched coconut sugar and it is basically the same as cane sugar. So it's no better or healthier than cane sugar. This is what I found on it. "In terms of coconut as a sugar substitute, coconut palm sugar has a low glycemic index, but the American Diabetes Association notes that you should treat it the same as regular sugar because it contains the same amount of calories and carbs. Coconut sugar is very high in calories, just like regular sugar, and you'd have to eat a ridiculous amount of it to satisfy your needs for any nutrients. Coconut sugar contains small amounts of minerals, antioxidants, and fiber. However, its high sugar content outweighs any potential benefits."
@@nigella4me great information and that’s what I was trying to point out. I think it’s disinformation when someone says that coconut sugar is natural and they use it as a replacement for cane sugar. Coconut sugar is not better than cane sugar. Cane sugar is natural too, and they both affect the blood the same way. I don’t want people to go and buy expensive coconut sugar thinking it’s a healthier option when it isn’t.
@@ninjettegirl Too many people are fooled by so many so called "healthier" alternatives when they really aren't any better and they go and spend a fortune on them.
@ninjettegirl Exactly. I couldn't eat those nuts, I was diagnosed diabetic 5 years ago. I've gotten my A1c down to 5, pre diabetic, but still cannot eat that. Several years ago Paula said she was diabetic. I don't watch her enough to know if she ever mentions it.
I love a vegetarian fried rice! Replacing the rice with quinoa is a great alternative.
Paula, you are never going to change. Not because you can't it's because you don't want to.. You should feel so lucky and blessed to have someone in the family pave the way for you to understand that you don't need meat or sweets.. I hope you change your mindset. that's going to make you change.. until then...
Yum yum 😋
I would add avocados to the quinoa mixture 🥑
dates good wrapped bacon or crm cheese stuffed
Great show Paula - my Vegan SPICY Enchiladas with no cheese are too die for and my side is a cool cucumber relish and green chile, tomato and corn rice.
Yay love the vegan recipes
Love the vegan recipes
Man, I grew up watching learning and loving Paula deep. I even have what I call her Bible lol her big cookbook!
I haven’t made anything from that book and haven’t watched all the people I use to watch since I have had kids and switched to a healthier diet (WFPB).
Haha so I was super stoked seeing Paula seen go Vegan! I was hoping she switched to whole food plant based!
Man I was hoping to watch her again❤ I miss you!!!! But I need creative ideas on how to make yummy food that feeds my microbiome! Because I’m reality that how we actually should be eating. And guess what they eat…..plants…ugh
Dates are so good for you. I eat them almost every day.
I love the vegan ideas. :D
