Not even close, the only common thing is a man eating lion. The Ghost And The Darkness was a masterpiece of movie making. This movie won't even be able to take a shit in the same room as TGATD.
We watched this with my partner while ago and I really didn't expect the suspense on this movie. My heart always stops. The ending is amazing! My partner knew what was gonna happen and he mentioned that this happens in real life (to lions). He got it from National geographic. Nature is amazing.
Just from the trailer alone I'm hoping for not only the family but the supporting actor that might be a defense guide for them, this is probably the most legit animal attack film in recent memory. Can't wait to see it! Edit: Idris Elba is one of my favorite actors for years now!
I was thinking that too because the guide might be theyre greatest defense against nature. I just know when it comes to the family scenes as well as his, it will be heart pounding intensity!
That's Sharlto Copley, from District 9, Elysium, Hardcore Henry, Maleficent, Free Fire, and a few other odd movies where he always tends to steal the scenes he's in. He's always great and even if he doesn't last more than 28 mins in this movie, I'm happy to see him get some more recognition and a paycheck.

I hate the way they wrote the daughters. They made them disobey their dad over and over just to further the plot. I highly doubt they would act like that given how much danger they knew they were in. Furthermore, the anti-poacher foreshadowing was so on the nose that the Martin reveal was not surprising. Norah said she read about anti-poachers online and said she thought Martin was an anti-poacher in two different scenes. The first mention of anti-poachers was enough. The writing in the hospital scene was also too on the nose. Mere explained why Nate did what he did even though it was already clear to the audience.
Been a fan of Idris Elba since The Wire and I’ve been a huge fan of Sharto Copley since I first saw him in District 9. I think this movie is going to be the surprise blockbuster movie of the entire summer.

Looks like it is going to be awesome and worth seeing. Especially since both Idris Elba and Sharlto Copley are in it. I haven't seen a horror thriller film about lions since The Ghost and the Darkness and that movie was awesome and exhilarating for the time it was made. This one looks excellent.
I would like to see a movie where the ppl are being stalked by a honey badger hell bent on revenge because the protagonist accidentally ran over its mother on a safari trip 10 years ago.
The movie, the ghost and the darkness is based on true events which happened in Tsavo, Kenya in 1898. Two male lions killed dozens of railway workers. The movie is excellent. I would like very much to see this movie.
@@chi8772 The lions were eventually tracked and killed by John H. Patterson in 1898 assisted by 20 armed soldiers. It was reported that it took 8 men to carry one of the killed lions back to base camp. The pair of man eaters were stuffed and are on display at the natural history museum in Chicago.
This is the first time I'm ever seeing this trailer and I'm very psyched! I remember watching those Syfy originals like Man-eater or Prey, but this looks like a true masterpiece, especially if it has Idris Elba. Right after Jurassic World Dominion, this will be the next film I'll be anxiously waiting for! Edit: I just saw this in theaters and I was not disappointed! I've always loved natural (where an animal is the main antagonist) horror films and this is part of my top tier list! I highly recommend this masterpiece.
That part where they got into the car and the “Beast” eventually pounces up on top of the roof of the car, reminded me soo much of the movie CUJO. Nostalgia ❤️
knew this movie would be great but it surpassed my expectations. If you love suspense and edge of your seat action, this is the movie for you. I haven't seen a movie that made me jump and flinch in a long time.
They played this trailer when I went and saw the newest Jurassic World, and while I love that franchise these two minutes and thirty seconds filled me with more adrenaline and dread than that entire movie. I will definitely be going to see this.
I seen it... Wasn't horrible but kinda disappointed. I wanted to see the lion actually kill on screen but it was more of a movie where you are with the main characters throughout the movie and seeing only what they are seeing.
Love me some Shalto Copley. So good to see him back in action. What a character he was in Elysium as Agent Kruger. I always think back to his character role on that flick. Ofcourse I salute my man Idris Elba as well. Adding this movie to my list.
May not be totally original, but this is like a breathe of fresh air & something new in horror. Finally, after all these lame awful scary movies about ghosts, slashers, found footage, demonic possessions, etc. This really gives me hope that the horror scary movie genre is back and still kicking. I adore Idris Elba and it's wonderful to see Sharlto Copley back in movie projects.
Reminding me of childhood days, when I saw ghost and the darkness for the first time with my father what an amazing movie it was. love this trailer from Pakistan
That's exactly what this trailer's theme brought to my memory. When a Lion kills for the sake of killing. He doesn't rest, he doesn't sleep; he kills. Surely, he's the king of beasts.
Even if it's only about an aggressive lion 🦁 uh what would you have the lion do be non Aggressive maybe make a movie about a layed back pot smoking lion or make a movie about about a lion 🦁 that goes to Harvard college and then goes on to a career as a aggressive lawyer what kinda lion 🦁 movie do you want LoL 😁
They seem to insinuate in this trailer that this is no ordinary lion. I’m wondering if maybe it’s supposed to be a werelion, a creature of African folklore who is typicallly a medicine man who can shapeshift into a lion. Many of the Indian and African workers who were building the railroad during the infamous Maneaters of Tsavo incident (the Ghost and the Darkness) were convinced those lions were actually werelions.
@@codyerickson3550 Yes but because of the ghost and the darkness (exactly because of that movie) i assume its about a regular, but agressive and intelligent lion 🙂 Nothing wrong with it if it's done well.
@@rustyshackleford6035 Lions are not always aggressive. They are territorial. But will not always react with agression. Otherwise in a Zoo they'd always be roaring at the visitors. Same shit in Safari's. Lions randomly attacking jeeps in SA is not overly common.
The pride and the law always matters. Though I cannot blame the Lion for hunting the people since it's pride was attacked. But overall, its 8/10 for me. I was just kinda irritated with the girls and with Martin being dead. I love how the two lions attacked the beast, law is the law.
This is EPIC !! The storyline is similar to the movie Prey which was released in 2007. I hope they amped this one up ! The Lion is a true "Beast" in this one ! Can't wait to see it
Watched that as a child and pretty much shat myself... Added it to that "somethings behind you" category when I'm in the dark... along with wolves (thanks to the wilderness family), werewolves (various) and bears (that one with Anthony Hopkins)... oh and sharks (Jaws), but I'm not too concerned about those on the land...🤣
I'm almost certain most people in the comment section are fake, bot and paid accounts to create a delusion of hype and excitement for this movie. Which the makers pre-emptively knew the movie wasn't great to begin with and this is their way for salvaging the unsalvageable.
This actually looks good it’s a realistic situation which makes it different not a giant science fiction monster or crazy killer that we see in most movies
@@djdravax5412 pretty sure there's more to the story that makes this Lion a beast. In the trailer there's a scene where they enter a building full of cat carcasses. I'll bet it has to do with poaching.

Am older but I still can't even try and watch the trailer...forget the movie...omg 😭💀
They took our lions to Chicago it was not cool though haha. A Kenyan heritage.
I am looking forward to this it was an intense movie
Looks like a modern version of The Ghost And The Darkness. Good to see lions back on the big screen.
My thoughts too!
Nope. Actually it looks like a remake of "The Prey".
Not even close, the only common thing is a man eating lion. The Ghost And The Darkness was a masterpiece of movie making. This movie won't even be able to take a shit in the same room as TGATD.
@@mostwantedadrian nope again. It looks like a lion version of a cujo remake
Interestingly The Ghost and The Darkness is based on a true story.
I love this kind of movies. I still remember the old as a kid. The only thing I hate is that the vehicle always crashes or won't start.
Yeah, I mean it’s common knowledge that tru is and off-roaders get very scared when they see a big animal
We watched this with my partner while ago and I really didn't expect the suspense on this movie. My heart always stops. The ending is amazing! My partner knew what was gonna happen and he mentioned that this happens in real life (to lions). He got it from National geographic. Nature is amazing.
why do yo u say partner instead of boyfriend?
You mean boyfriend, or friend. There are no partners

Long over due. Movies where a wild animal is hunting. I haven't seen good ones in ages. Idris Alba is rocking this one.
Idris Elba is slowly turning into the new Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson cinematically. They're just putting him in everything.
Barely
Nope! Idris is a good actor. Dwayne's not. Idris will mostly be in underrated well made movies. Dwayne will be in badly made well marketed movies that are blockbusters.
@@titlasagna2172 Pacific Rim was great
Except idris can act..
Funny cause this looks like a movie the rock would star in lol
I hate the way they wrote the daughters. They made them disobey their dad over and over just to further the plot. I highly doubt they would act like that given how much danger they knew they were in. Furthermore, the anti-poacher foreshadowing was so on the nose that the Martin reveal was not surprising. Norah said she read about anti-poachers online and said she thought Martin was an anti-poacher in two different scenes. The first mention of anti-poachers was enough. The writing in the hospital scene was also too on the nose. Mere explained why Nate did what he did even though it was already clear to the audience.
Omg the girls got on my damn nerves!!!!
The same so annoying through out the movie @@ElizabethConway-kf9ed

Oh, I have been waiting for YEARS for a solid man-eating lion or tiger movie. Something like The Ghost and the Darkness, which is criminally underrated. This movie reminds me of that film. I hope it releases in my country. Will definitely be watching it in the theatre.

It should release in india tbh.

Bro can u recommend me some good thriller and suspense movies please.
The movie, the ghost and the darkness is based on true events which happened in Tsavo, Kenya in 1898. Two male lions killed dozens of railway workers. The movie is excellent. I would like very much to see this movie.
Wow, thanks for the information. 😢
What happened to the lions eventually?
@@chi8772 The lions were eventually tracked and killed by John H. Patterson in 1898 assisted by 20 armed soldiers. It was reported that it took 8 men to carry one of the killed lions back to base camp. The pair of man eaters were stuffed and are on display at the natural history museum in Chicago.
As soon as I seen the preview to this I thought ghost in the darkness remake🤣

Just finished watching the movie, rotten tomatoes rated it 68/100 and it should have been a 40/100. Don’t waist your time on watching it.

That's exactly what this trailer's theme brought to my memory. When a Lion kills for the sake of killing. He doesn't rest, he doesn't sleep; he kills. Surely, he's the king of beasts.
That was a great movie
I have to admit, this trailer is pretty good.
Even if it's only about an agressive lion, i would like to see this movie 🙂
Even if it's only about an aggressive lion 🦁 uh what would you have the lion do be non Aggressive maybe make a movie about a layed back pot smoking lion or make a movie about about a lion 🦁 that goes to Harvard college and then goes on to a career as a aggressive lawyer what kinda lion 🦁 movie do you want LoL 😁
@Boris bruh you’ve watched too many shark movies if you think a movie about an 'aggressive lion' could be anything less than thrilling.

Yes but because of the ghost and the darkness (exactly because of that movie) i assume its about a regular, but agressive and intelligent lion 🙂
Nothing wrong with it if it's done well.
@@rustyshackleford6035 Lions are not always aggressive. They are territorial. But will not always react with agression. Otherwise in a Zoo they'd always be roaring at the visitors. Same shit in Safari's. Lions randomly attacking jeeps in SA is not overly common.

A lion that doesn't eat its prey is realistic? Lions hunt for food, not to just kill whatever they see.
