Curious, do you have any of the newer Arnold steam locos, if so how do they compare to Fleischmann or Kato for smooth quiet operation? I'm not a fan of the older Arnold, noise and jerky mechanisms but I haven't seen the newer units in operation.

I do have a couple older Arnold steam ones like this, I think from the 90s, they work ok. I also have some more modern electric types from Arnold I got new a few years back like this one: ruclips.net/video/nogNEs0BpgU/видео.html
They work pretty flawlessly, the motors are very quiet and good. I'd like to get a steam one, but they're really expensive new, like $300-$400+. Why you hardly every see any especially in the states. But modern Arnolds seem to be fantastic, I have some new Arnold passenger cars too which are easily some of my favorites, better than Kato.
