I agree with Rik. The number of customers doesn't depend on the tables you have. Every time before the day starts, the game tells you how many groups will come. More tables are actually helpful. The problems are the fish cook way too long and you only have one hob. You didn't get enough upgrade on the kitchen compared to the previous runs.
jas was definitely right about them getting distracted at the end. she kept asking for chips and didn't get it faster cause they were too busy talking about other things
That budget hob you passed was so worth.
Lovin these episodes! Just wanted to quickly say that Rik was correct, and that Tie is for Tidy. Additionally, you only get the buff from one of the categories every 3 levels, ie. 1 more barrel and you would have had 1 home buff (3 buffs is max -> 9 levels)
I like how Jazzy put the tables where she wanted them everyone just moved them 😂😆
grabber is good to use, you can have it automatically grab the raw fish to cook it in the stove. You can also access things diagonally (Jas can access the other counter near). Also, having 3 ties make customers have no/little mess. Others make customers become more patient as well. Statues also help a lot, it gives 3 diamonds and is room wide :)

One thing that game need a tutorial about is decorations, cuz you guys still don't know how they work.
Every decoration have -3 to +3 points in different categories. When table affected by one of them you can see an indicator with three marks. When you have 3 points in one category one mark will light up bright blue, and will grant this table a buff. You can check what this buff will do when you close to the table. I don't know all of them, but "homey" gives more patience, and there is one if you place hob close to a table (with flames symbol) which will decrease patience faster.
Also, about buffs themself, for example, like with calming painting if there is +100% "arrow down" patience, it's mean that patience bar that marked with this "arrow down" will be increased (in this case it's patience between servings for different customers on one table).
Last thing, some decorations can be used as counters. For example, barrels. You can use them to store dirty dishes, to faster clean table if new customers waiting outside.
I didn't know that last part! Definitely elevated the barrel decor for me lol
I loved watching these so much I tried the demo out for myself in single player. Two things to note: You can have tables in the auxilary room or in the kitchen, just keep them away from your hobs and ovens. They do give a patience debuff to customers. Secondly, the official discord for the game has info on how to enable Twitch integration, which allows your viewers while you livestream this game to visit the restaurant by using a command such as !visit which is pretty cool. It's awesome seeing you guys play this game together, and I can't wait to see more!
the tie means how much of a gentlemen they are like they aren't gonna make that much of a mess
About the tables, you can turn off all the chairs and use it as an extra counter, if you like!
One thing that could be helpful is that you can grab things in corners in this game unlike overcooked
Stumpt, please read Jaedster's comment! you can line your entire wall space with counters. It just takes a little extra "aiming" to make sure the corner is highlighted.
Also, where things are relative to the hinge of the door seems to change how easily you can access stuff - If the conveyor was placed in the top left of the dish cleaning room, Jazzy would be able to peek in and drop a plate, vs where the plate rack was, ash had to open the door all the way to place a plate.

The fact 2/5 (if not more) stumpt members eat peanut shells might be the thing that drives me insane after being subbed since middle school….

You had a safety hob offered so no excuses about only 1 Hob
I think it was a budget hob. The one that catches fire randomly. It still would have helped, though.
@@whateveryoulike227 There was both a budget hob and a safety hob. The safety hob was offered earlier in the run in the last video.

@@lilmrmagoo A second hob is needed early, even if you "don't need it". You'll have customers later, and it's necessary then. In roguelikes, you don't skip mandatory things early that you'll need later if when later it means failing a run.

You guys did a really good job! You didn't really have much choice on the tables, you HAVE to have enough tables so they don't have a massive line out the door. It is a rogue like and sometimes you're just not going to get the stuff you want.

Next time you play fish, take the microwave you just got with you and use it on blue fish. Leave the hob for the red fish + sides until you get another one, then you have one cooking station for blue fish, one for red, and one for sides.
There's not enough room in the kitchen for 3 cookers AND all the ingredients/prep space. Two is enough

You needed more tables for the amount of people that wanted to come in since you know how many groups youre getting.

The flavor may come from the fat but for a texture eater like me it’s the choice between a well done steak or no steak at s all 😂
Properly cooked it doesn't even lose much more fat than medium steaks because you don't actually cook it for much longer, you cook it for a few minutes, take it off and let it stew in it's own juices for 20 minutes, then cook it for a few minutes more. Just give the heat time to spread through the entire steak.
@@Gufnorkian unfortunately “properly cooked” for me means no fat or as little as possible. That’s why well done is unfortunately my choice because as I said it is between that or no steak at all.
You could cook an amazing rare, or medium rare steak and I could theoretically eat it but if i eat that entire steak and the last bite I bite into fat, I will with 100% certainty vomit that entire steak and meal up. And that’s just wasteful and not worth it.
Ash! Omg please I am so late here but there were so many dishes to be washed but Ash wasn't doing his main job for that specific moment and that's why the restaurant closed bc the dishes weren't being washed so the tables couldn't be cleared! Ash please. I'm begging you. I thought Overcooked was enough practice for you D:

People were lining up outside the door, you just didn’t have enough hobs, period. More tables actually kept you alive longer.
Blue fish. Cause longer cook time = bigger (at least in my dreams).

i'm curious why you put the dumbwaiters where you did, the dumbwaiter is designed to basically teleport things between them, but the original placement would mean that jaz was still traveling roughly the same distance to drop off plates. if the dumbwaiter had been put between the cluster of tables, while there would ultimately still have been a backup due to the limitation of one plate at a time, only one trip to the sink would have been needed for a group of two people, allowing jaz to grab food, or clean the customers mess. but thats just my take on the use of a dumbwaiter.
to be fair though.... part of me would want to just put two dumbwaiters one either side of a wall just because you could. lol
I don't know if this goes for anyone else who likes well done. But I know it's the same for my mother and I. We HATE seeing red or pink in our meat. It makes us want to throw up. That's why we want well done. Still tastes good and we done care if we have to chew more it's worth it to us 😆
Growing up my dad always cooked steak well done cuz that’s how he likes it and so I always thought I didn’t like steak at all. It wasn’t until I got older and started eating steak prepared by other people that I realized I do actually enjoy a nice medium rare steak.

Also, with the meat discourse. I think it depends a lot on the country honestly, if you come down south in Brazil (where we're known across the country for making the best bbq and having the best meat since we have a lot of cattle practices), asking for a rare piece of meat is really frowned upon, whereas medium is just average, and well done is average but with the outside of the meat not burned, but almost there. It's not dry and awful like most well done meats I've seen in the u.s.a.
Team Blue Fish! It takes long for a reason - cause it's delicious ;) Sad that the RNG was the reason this run failed, but I am glad to see you guys just accept that fact. It was a good run ~

Oh man, I wonder if the dumb waiter would better be used to transport the second plate of food across the restaurant for two seaters, so that Jazz doesn't have to sprint back to get both delivered?
At the end though, I blame ash. He spent so much time just standing there when there were dishes needed to be washed. They were distracted with the conversation, like Jas said.
Ash is usually fine if he has a single task to cover--he definitely got distracted this episode.

Please read! Decorations do nothing unless you have 3 points on a table. Version 0.9 Patch notes EXPLICITLY stated this when added:
> Each decorative item gives points towards (or away from!) some themes. For every three points of a theme a table is affected by, it'll gain a level and a new benefit.
Breakdown below:
Barrels give +1 burger and +1 home, but -2 diamond and -2 tie, each.
Calm Painting gives +1 diamond and tie, but -2 burger; it also gives +100% ↓ patience (when food is delivered to table, how long until they get upset it's not all delivered).
The Calm Painting affects every table in the room.
Table 1: 1 diamond, -2 (0) burger, 0 home, 1 tie, +100% ↓ patience
Table 2: 1 diamond, -2 (0) burger, 0 home, 1 tie, +100% ↓ patience
Table 3: 1 diamond, -2 (0) burger, 0 home, 1 tie, +100% ↓ patience
The two Barrels both affect the left two tables.
Table 1: 1-2-2 (-3/0) diamond, -2+1+1 (0) burger, 1+1 (2) home, 1-2-2 (-3/0) tie, +100% ↓ patience
Table 2: 1-2-2 (-3/0) diamond, -2+1+1 (0) burger, 1+1 (2) home, 1-2-2 (-3/0) tie, +100% ↓ patience
This gives final results:
Table 1: 2 home, +100% ↓ patience
Table 2: 2 home, +100% ↓ patience
Table 3: 1 diamond, 1 tie, +100% ↓ patience
No tables have reached 3 points, so no effects are activated on any table. To know what the effects do, you have to reach 3 points, then 6 points, then 9 points -- for each type of effect. Buying decorations but not getting enough points (3/6/9) to activate an effect just looks pretty (or not), and does nothing. There is no effect on the tables for having 2 points in home on those tables, and no effect for any negative points at all, as they are effectively 0.

@@Tikachu I only have access to the demo, which is officially in the old version and only goes to six days, I couldn't tell you what the benefits are even if I wanted to.
I do know that there's 3 levels of benefits, and each level is worth 3 points a piece. Which is to say that you'll want to specialize up until you get 9 points of [style] in order to get the full benefit.
I think the first level is increased patience.

Price, Rick is right the number of tables doesn’t affect the number of customers. The number of customers as you noticed last round is on the left side when placing things down.
That being said even if you don’t get the ideal tool you want sometimes its worth getting even if you’ll trash it a later, a 2nd hob that sucks is better than no hob. You did have a hob option. 12:00 budget hob. Nothing stops you from only using the budget hob only when necessary and using the regular hob otherwise.
to answer the steak thing. The conspiracy theorist thing….that is ridiculous….as ridiculous as caring how other people want their steak. As long as you don’t complain that it what cooked the way you asked for it…a good cook/chef won’t care. a well done is easy even if it’s longer you can do other things while it cooks. Less likely to have a mistake and if a rare is overcooked you can use that for the well done table and just cook the rare longer

This game is not overcooked or diner bros, play like you never played them before to unlearn preconceptions and learn new thing about the game. You guys shouldn't be fussed about the counter placements. If you just use the ability to interact with thing in the diagonal direction, many of your problems or hiccups in the game can be overcome. Make sure your have the diagonal counter highlighted before interacting with it for maximum accuracy. In 2-3 player people don't play with one on dish duty because they use the diagonal sink in the window to restock the pass. And probably other creative uses of the mechanic.

It definitely wasn't the tables that looked were your issues. It was the amount of groups that was the issue, but y'all could do nothing to help with that cause you never got good items for the kitchen
Also if you know you've got a little time, you can knock out a couple of the 1-tops before the 2-tops so you only have to pick up one plate for the people outside to come sit down.
Yeah, more tables, while a lot for the front of house to handle, does nothing but help with the line outside, which was what caused you to lose the run. It didn't affect how many groups are coming in that day.
Well done meat tastes good to me, but medium tastes bland to me, so I'm skeptical about it being fat content.
The more burnt the better it tastes.
