Always enjoy Dan’s content on this channel. Really knows his stuff and does a good job of explaining everything he’s doing. Met him at the Sydney 4wd Show and he was a top bloke too
Love that custom work without being over the top, people will look at it and decide it's an ARB winch bar then look at the surround around the winch and realise something else is going on. Neat job, can't wait to see this smoothed off, painted and finished going to look mint on your tidy GQ.
That bar looks mint , probably the only thing I would change is cut those useless arb "recovery points" off the bottom of the bar... great work with the channel boys keep up the content that we can all relate to with our own builds and weekend projects 🤙🏼
Inspired me to modify my ARB bar on my GU I prefer to model everything in 3d cad, that way you can make all the mistakes on the computer at zero cost Dan does his drafting in his head, a skill that few have Great content
Good work. Fantastic metal fabricating skills. 👍 Sadly, a skill that eludes me. It would make life so much easier for me with my rig, if I had these skills. Just for looks, have you considered fitting flush mounted LED lights next to the blinker cutouts? Looking forward to the finished product.
Hey Dan and co, would love to see an episode on front recovery points. I've been wanting to fit some for ages but my chassis/bullbar setup isn't quite suited and it feels like a daunting problem to solve. Don't want to fully replace the bar or get an electic winch (I already use a tirfor which suits how I decide to drive on tracks!). Wonder if you have any insights on this topic!
Amazing work Dan as always, though I reckon cutting off the old recovery points would be a good idea to make it look cleaner. And are you keeping the spotties?
Great job as always James....we love you....been checking all day for a new Avross video....come to America and modify My bill bar for a winch.....!!!!
Was also gonna say this. They're certainly not recovery points. Mine has what I believe are factory recovery points bolted to the chassis which is how I discovered that those points on the bar are for the high lift jack
The only thing I personally don't like is the lack of symmetry of the plate over the top of the winch, I would have made it look the same on both sides (its just my OCD lol). But I can understand why you did it the way you did. Night and day difference over the old bar, you've done a great job with it
would made it into a nudge bar style extending or cutting off the factory arb mounts going to a 1-3 inch thick mount would of been better to use the arb as a template and build another bar building in recovery points
I recently bought a supposedly factory, Toyota alloy winch bar for my 80 Seties, which also looks like an ARB style, just like what you have bought. Was also looking at beefing it up, changing it up a little & making a cradle for a winch, to replace my alloy Bocar roo bar that my wife bent, tring to push her 80 Series up the driveway. Your video is very timely for me, Dan. I don't have quite the fabrication skills you have, bu5 I'm willing to have a crack. Can you make a slightly more detailed video on how to go about making a winch cradle? Also, would you suggest buying the winch first, to make the cradle & bar fit the winch?
Oven though the original OEM Nissan bullbar was ugly, I had a soft-spot for it. Maybe because it was period correct for your vehicle, and so totally retro in this day and age. But it sure was ugly. 😁 Great work on the new bullbar. It's good you kept its classy simple lines, and not got carried away and over-designed it. 👍
Use to work for ARB. Bullbars are made in Thailand not Australia. Basically cheaper labour and steel products. So they are not Australian made. Real Australian made keeps the labour in Australia and not go against union workforces
A suggestion to you lads and all the others who like their fourbies and want to keep them off the cops RADAR and on the trail: Pay attention to the rules and laws and do your best to stay legal. Airbag laws make a mess of a lot of things and have plenty of misconceptions so a little understanding and homework. Other things are protrusions facing forward, remember kids, you have to keep them safe for the person or persons you potentially hit. State dependant but the top tube probably won't pass, not allowed to go above the top of the bonnet. Silly mods like the stupid antenna mount on the forward side is screaming for a sticker on the windsheild and a tilt-tray ride, good to see you deleted it.
Damn, too many rules there on a front guard design. That government there is so damn controlling on the most stupid things I’ve discovered watching all manner of videos from Australia. Like the requirements for a truck guard. Here, we just build what we want.
I'm unsubscribing because the channel has stopped giving us camping and offroading videos and instead bringing shits like this which is damn uninteresting 💔
Dan your videos add so much value to an already sick channel. Appreciate the time to film and share what you're up to.

Agree. Always enjoy Dan's videos. I also enjoy Dan Murphys!
Can confirm!

They are NOT recovery points.
Arb designed them to go with an adapter for a highlift jacking point.
Inspired me to modify my ARB bar on my GU

Dan does his drafting in his head, a skill that few have
Great content
Enjoyable to watch as always Dan. It will look good, clean and tidy when finished And we'll thought out.
Nice job Dan as usual your attention to detail is spot on.
I really like the clean and uncluttered look of Dan's Patrol.
Sleek bull bar.
That’s beautiful. Dodge Ram vibes on the top hoop, executed beautifully
You boys are so easy to listen to and watch!! Love it lads 🇦🇺
A legendary, one of a kind bar from a legendary, one of a kind bloke...thanks Dan.
The trendy term is ‘bespoke’ . Great job utilizing a used bar and adapting it to your needs.
I think you may as well fill in the indicator holes while your there would look better than just the holes or get some lenses for it.
You know it’s gonna be a good Sunday when Aussie arvos posts a new video..
Cool looking winch bar, will look sick after paint😎🤙

Well done on the bar work and as usual the manner in which you articulate yourself is outstanding. Thanks for the content, cheers
Looking great! Love the centre Horn!

There’s no such thing as a “non winch bar”. There’s just bars that haven’t been “adjusted” yet 😂
🤣🤣
anytime you get a slab, cut the cardboard sides out and keep them. works great for little cutouts, mixing stuff, etc.
Top job Dan, good to see you behind the camera again 👍🏻🍺
That looks awesome mate , well done on the design!
wicked job, really thought it all through.
Great job Dan, looks mint. You might want to consider covering the top of the winch to keep the sun off the rope. 👍
Nice and neat bull bar build. looks awesome 😎
Just a readjustment to the front suspension and you'll be right. Nice work mate.
wicked ! Go the Patrol! 🛻📹🤙😎
Amazing work Dan as always, though I reckon cutting off the old recovery points would be a good idea to make it look cleaner. And are you keeping the spotties?
Thats awsome i want one haha love the recovery points that bar reminds me of sootys off 4wd24/7
Great job as always James....we love you....been checking all day for a new Avross video....come to America and modify My bill bar for a winch.....!!!!
Looks awesome, great work 🤙
What headlights you running?
Yeah Tiger What about the chassis mounts and rails. They will need work for tough going
It looks mint 👌 Awesome job mate.
I bought a project car because of you guys. My misso thanks you. 😂
Awesome...luv this build
nice work, make it how you want, 1 of a kind 😎
Good work young fella
Are you going to Raptor can it? I think Raptor paint will look good like the steps
Those eyelets are rated for high lift jack only in stock form, ARB sell a bracket for them.
Was also gonna say this. They're certainly not recovery points. Mine has what I believe are factory recovery points bolted to the chassis which is how I discovered that those points on the bar are for the high lift jack
Dan the man..
Dan the bar looks good maté especially with the top bit, just breaks up the straight look of the ARB look of the bar 👍🏽
The only thing I personally don't like is the lack of symmetry of the plate over the top of the winch, I would have made it look the same on both sides (its just my OCD lol).

Looks smart are you cutting the old recovery points off ?
Good job mate, looks killa 🤘
Nice work. You should be pleased.
Great work mate
Nice work mate 👍🏻
Good job Dan. Where are you going to mount the control box ?
Cheers

Top bar probably isn't compliant (obstructs vision) but your handy work looks good regardless
I love your channel
Looks smick
what would the bull bar rated ability be?
Love the job you did a good job just don’t like the top bar at all
Cardboard, as in C.A.D 🤔👌 ahahahahaha
Why isn't James on channel anymore
Use to work for ARB. Bullbars are made in Thailand not Australia. Basically cheaper labour and steel products. So they are not Australian made. Real Australian made keeps the labour in Australia and not go against union workforces
They make their bars at kilsyth for the Australian market. Thailand cover the overseas market
CAD: Cardboard-Aided-Design.
😄😄
Giggles
Could you make the top section removable, servicing/ removing the winch would be easier later on.
Not the tuff stato at 3:14 😭

Come on I’m first comment every week let’s do gum
