The only thing I dont like about the positive ground systems is you cant jump it off with battery cables or box . You have to remove the cables and charge the battery. My 2 cubs are the only 2 that are still positive ground everything else is negative . Great video on how to do this cause it can get confusing . Thanks great video
farmall51 that’s false. You can jump it as long as you match polarity and voltage

Simply Using Piece of Wire, From the Regulator, Just Touch the BATTERY WIRE, B, to the Armature Wire marked A...A Quick Touch is all it takes, You Will see a Spark... Good video,I will find out if I got mine rite or not soon.the six volt batteries are too expensive.makes me think I need to switch to 12 .I'll give the proper system another try.
Thanks... 12 volt NEG GROUND is most definitely easier to work on... it's all a matter of choice. I try to keep all mine all original.. to a true Collector, it keeps it's value.
just got a super c today,4/22/12, figured out the pos ground ..eventually, had no battery,dude jumped it and away i went-to home.....
Where is the Lead wire supposed to go specifically?
I have a 1947 Farmall A with a magneto and 6V positive ground. When the wire from the BAT terminal of the voltage regulator is connected to the amp meter gauge on the tractor, it causes the battery to drain when the tractor is sitting not running. I by-passed the gauge and connected the wire directly to the ground cable of the battery and it still drains the battery, so it is not the gauge. I an stumped. Can you give me any advice?
Going by what you have said I believe that you are getting battery drain through the ammeter to earth because the cut out is not opening. Check if the problem is the CUT OUT and then go from there. It appears to me that you may have another issue as well. Also look to see if you are getting drain somewhere else.
I have a ford 9N tractor that is positive ground and the generator dose not have a field coil in it its a Permanent magnet generator. the Generator case is positive and the post is negitive. how can I wire that up to the regulator.
McCuneWindandSolar Sorry but I am NOT familiar with the 9N Ford Tractor . All I can tell you is Positive ground is opposite the norm. It's very wierd to work on and you have to be careful not to short things out.
