Getting a copyright strike on a video you work so hard on can be very frustrating, and it costs you money. There are 2 ways to avoid it - produce your own music (no thanks!) or use a professional royalty-free music service to get all of your songs. Epidemic Sound is what I use for my videos. They have an amazing selection at the very lowest price. And you can try it for 30 days for free! Download as much as you want in those 30 days!

I absolutely love epidemic sound. I joined a couple months ago and paid for a year up front and basically got just over 2 months of free service with the initial 30 day free trial. I was not charged until my 30 days were up. 12 months cost me around $145 I believe which is around $12 a month. Well worth it.

Epidemic sound imposes two limitations one should be aware: (1) you are not allowed to upload your video after you terminate your subscription even if music was downloaded during your subscription period. (2) you can use the music in only one RUclips channel per subscription. So if you have multiple channels you will need to have multiple subscriptions. Thanks for one more great video!

I've used royalty free music only to have it copyrighted later. So now I just make my own music. It takes more time but is fun. Thanks for this link. I will definitely check it out.

Nice Russ! Music is definitely super important..most of the times I look for music before I even shoot a video to get inspired. It helps it all come together

Very good information. I may use their service at some time in the future, but for now I use the RUclips Audio Library, as they will NEVER make a copyright strike on their music. I don't make that many videos a month, but the value sounds great for someone who makes a lot of videos. Thanks for sharing this information with us.

Totally agree, Russ! Music is soooo important. I also use Epidemic Sound, and like you said, the first thing I do when creating a video is to lay down the music track. Then the clips fit into that. BTW, I have not found the Epidemic Sound sound effects very useful, and often end up finding stuff on RUclips Creator Studio's audio library.

So far at least, I've chosen to keep producing my own music...but man, that is a LOT of work. I do find it a nice creative outlet for myself, but because of the time it takes to come up with new material, I often find myself wondering if I should supplement with a service like ES. Would certainly help me produce content more quickly! As always, I appreciate your insights, Russ!

Great STUFF Russ! I just opened the 30day trial on Epidemic.... Didn't see this when you added the music track to your video. Do you have to download whatever particular soundtrack your want to use so it's resident on your hard drive or can you add the soundtrack to a playlist of songs by genre, etc? You make it so much easier on newbies like me! Got my Mavic Air 2 about 3 weeks ago, and getting better each time we're up! Made a couple of videos which are elementary. My 5th grade grandson teases me: "Papa, you're such a wanna be" I tell him, there's one thing a smart ass doesn't like and that's another Smart ASS! Thnx Much!

Excellent video. But I wanted to say a good word abou your production value of your "studio" shots of you. The room is nice. It had nice colors but they are subdued to make sure what's begind you is not stealing the vision from you in the foreground. You have developed an excellent delivery for being on camera. I have noticed these nice changes in production values of your videos over time. You do a great job. You are easy to listen to and come across very natural.

Very informative. Music is and always has been a huge part of my life but I've never added music to any video. I talk and flap my jaws instead but I probably should add some underlying music to help bridge the silent (there aren't many) gaps. I've saved the link and this video for future ideas. Thanks for sharing this with me!👌😎👍

You're right, it's important to stay original, but sometimes you come across a music a content creator used, but did not list the song in their comments. Besides sending Epidemic to send you a list, you can simply use Shazam to listen to the video and it will quickly give you the title of that song you are looking for, then quickly find it in Epidemic.

Wish I had found Epidemic before I signed up with Soundstripe a few days ago. After browsing their music it appears Epidemic has much higher quality tracks to select from and is a much better all around site. With the annual 20 percent discount it's only a few dollars more per year. And with Soundstripe you have to re-license if you so much as change a video title on an already licensed track.

Great video, thank you. Quick question please. When using an Epidemic song, do you need to put any sort of disclaimer or acknowledgement in the YT description. Will YT automatically know this is royalty free music and safe to use?

All of the sounds services offer a $15 a month price point. I find this ridiculous, its simply too much content and thus the price reflects that! All of these sound services need to add a lite user subscription with a trimmed library and limited monthly downloads restriction for $4.99 a month.

    Hold your horses....
Q1: "Unlimited use in all your owned and operated channels" NOT on the Creator Subscription which is what most people will register for. Do we need a Business subscription if we are getting money out of youtube channel?
Q2: What happen with the music you downloaded and used in your videos if one day you decide to stop your registration? Can you still use them or is illegal and therefore you may receive a copyright strike?

    • @51Drones
      @51Drones  4 года назад +1

No, you do not need the Business Subscription for your RUclips channel. Secondly, if you leave the service, your songs will remain royalty free. There is no risk at all.
