Honestly I think the standard phone everyone should buy in 2025 is definetly the I phone 13 because its stock 128 gb 5g decent battery the only downside is that it doesnt have usb c but honestly u get good things and its becoming more affordable
my 14 stopped working and i couldn’t afford to fix it(long story) but ended up buying a 12 because a phones a phone and i definitely do love it, still holds up well for 5 years old
I just updated from a XR to a 12 Pro the XR was good when I got it 2 years ago but now it’s bad it lags so bad and overheats FaceTime failed to many times
I used a 6s, literally still works, AS A PHONE, And somewhat a smartphone, you get your photos, you get your iMessages , you get your FaceTimes, you get your websites, you get your doodle jumps, what more you really want?
As of right now, if you live in the USA, I suggest: iPhone SE: still want an iPhone with Touch ID, still will get updates, AND still uses a physical SIM card iPhone 13 (any model in the series): if you still want the relevant design and don’t want Touch ID, still prefer a physical SIM over eSIM, and still get software upgrades That’s as far as I would go in terms of age. Also remember that in the USA, the SE and the 13 models are the last iPhones that use physical SIM cards. So if you’re the type that swaps between phones, consider that.
My XS is still taking upgrades to IOS 18.2. and maybe further? The battery doesn’t hold a charge but I’m so tired of having to upgrade I will opt for a battery replacement. Will never pay over $1000. for a phone.

I’m running iOS 18.2 on my SE 2 and I think it runs great. Although I did notice occasionally, X/Twitter app sometimes seems frozen, but I think that’s an app issue and not an iOS one.

I got mine in December of 2023 now it lags out on face time and gets hot

iPhone SE 2020 is still running flawlessly!
I am using my iphone 12 mini. Purchased it 3 years ago in 2021 and it still rocks! Battery health is at 86%
