I have XUV700 diesel manual.. I got more than 18kmpl on 450 km highway ride...
Some details about that highway ride.
1) My top speed on that trip was about 180kmph (just wanted to see how it accelerates. Only once I got the chance to accelerate that hard.)..
2) My average speed on that trip was below 60kmph as all of the route has slow moving truck traffic.
3) I stuck for about 2 hours in bumper to bumper slow moving traffic, covered 30km in that 2 hour.
4) Vehicle is fully loaded with 5 people and their luggage.
And most importantly I was not on any Mileage Run.
In the city I am constantly getting average between 14 and 15.
I am using Tank to to Tank method to calculate the average. My MID generally shows 17kmpl in the city and 24 kmpl on highway... too optimistic..
What mileage figures are you getting on a bumper to bumper traffic?
@@angggad don't know. In bumper to bumper traffic MID generally shows mileage of around 14 kmpl.. but tank to tank method is never possible only for bumper to bumper traffic. Its always mix situation in the city

@@angggad in city i am getting between 14 and 15. Calculated using tank to tank method. Mileage depends on how you drive your car. So different people will get different figures.

XUV 7OO has a very big glass area and along with the big Skyroof, it generates considerably more heat than any of its competitors in its segment. This is a DOWNSIDE, Mahindra should've went for heat rejection glass.
You have to atleast keep the temperature at 20°C and the fan speed at 3 in order for the 2nd row occupants to feel cool and on a bright sunny day we'll have to further decrease the temp.
You can have heat reflective glass stickering done to reduce the heat.
@@rishishenoy Unfortunately, heat rejection sheets are illegal and RTO in certain regions are very particular about it. They will remove it on the spot and fine you if tinted sheets are observed. Hence, tinted glass from manufacturers is the best option.

17.5km/L is not bad. I traveled 2800km on good & bad highways and city traffic on a SCross AT got 17.8km/L fully loaded.

Amazing!!! A RUclipsr was getting 7 kmpl on the same variant and ended selling it for a Fortuner, stating mileage as one of the reasons. Hope there are no issues with the brakes.

Go for Diesel you will njy d car better than petrol, petrol will not give u average. Diesel u will njy d torque and power petrol is very powerful but not good on fuel average in Diesel you will get better range of tank Capacity. Petrol is simply not for Suvs because of the weight and drag coefficient. Diesel is effortless and even if u have low use go for Diesel because it can power other car electronics with a fuss.
I got my xuv700 AX7L last month drove it around 1500km mostly on hilly area got around 10-11 kmpl but i have a petrol variant, which is what I expected. It could be subjective but mileage should not be concern when you spend 25-30lac on a car because i think buying a car i not that tough but maintaining it is and you cannot expect a 200bhp 2tonne car to be fuel efficient.

How much mileage can we expect from diesel manual? Is the difference significant?
I have achieved 18.6 km/lt average in my diesel manual from Udaipur to Ahmedabad 250 km. Average speed 76 top speed 138 with 2 person.

If you are driving at 70 at 1500rpm, and 90 at 1500rpm. Your mileage is not the same😂 since even though litres of fuel burn is SAME, you travel 20% faster at same rpm, so 20% MORE MILEAGE. This is what gears are made for

Thanks for the video! That's darn good average for this vehicle. I'm driving 2013 ML360 BlueTec diesel. Although, it has bigger engine and it gives 22 miles per gallon in city and about 28 miles per gallon in highways. That's 9.36 kilometers per liter in city and 11.91 kilometers per liter on highways. That's a great vehicle in India and should be in USA market.

We just bought 700 last month and I am under 100kmph driver so 80-100kmph and I get 19-21kmpl easily on a new engine which hasn't done it's 1st service.
I always drive on cruise control and manage speed via Cruze control buttons i.e if I see traffic ahead I will not apply brakes late but I will reduce the speed on Cruze control preemptively to not lose momentum and this car dilivers.

I often do Kolkata-guwahati-kolkata on my Tata Harrier manual. The roads in this stretch are not as good as Udaipur. I get an average of 20 Kmpl +, that too tank to tank. MLD shows 21 Kmpl.

I have a Xuv 700 petrol MT. Recently i did a trip from Madurai to chennai. I filled up fuel at Madurai when I had a remaining range of 200 km. I fuelled up for ₹2500. Drove the entire journey in 5th and 6th gear between 85-95 kmph. To my surprise it gave a FE of 16 kmpl. I reached chennai with remaining DTE of 195 km. Man that is something which I never expected from xuv. Previously when i drive the same from Chennai to Mdu it gave only 12-13 with an average speed of 115-120 kmph
