We drove 350km to see Wave Rock and the Hyden area-was it worth the detour? 😢 Share your thoughts and experiences below! Each month, we donate 10% of our RUclips ad revenue to a charity. Let us know which causes are meaningful to you for future donations!
My maternal grandad grew up just east of Hyden. My father used to go shooting out that way and they often camped in the hippos yawn, best shelter in the area back then.
That would have been an incredible place to go shooting. I could only imagine what the area would have been like before it became such a tourist destination. It would be amazing to camp out in Hippo's Yawn for a night.
The salt pool was the same when we were there at the end of March. I believe the colour change was due to some heavy rain they'd had just before we got there. So yes, it was a little disappointing, but it wasn't too cold for a swim at that point and there were nowhere near as many flies! We enjoyed our stay but agree, a couple of nights is enough.
As bad as it sounds, at least we aren't the only ones that got it looking brown and uninviting. We didn't say it in the video (because we forgot) but as soon as we got back to camp we went straight into the shower haha.
When I take photos or video I put it up as filmed, I don't edit the photo or use filters just so that I don't mislead people. It was good to see your reality.
We figure it's best to keep it as honest as possible with that type of stuff. We don't want to mislead people into thinking things aren't the way the really are
Due to this only being our first month of being monetized on RUclips the processing is a little slow. Don't worry though as soon as it goes through we will be announcing it on here as well as Instagram and Facebook. In regards to which charity, we will be changing it each time. Any suggestions as to which charity you would like to see our donation go to?
Apparently if it rains it can turn the water this colour, but we have had people tell us since being there that it can be like that for no reason sometimes... so don't really know haha

I know what you mean, sometimes you feel a bit ripped off when things aren't like they looked on Insta!
Good old social media has a lot to answer for 😂
Another great video. Shame about the lake looking like that.
Yeah it was a shame, but it just means we’ll have to go back another time as hopefully it’s all finished and better 👌
Another awesome episode🫶🏻 Stunning drone footage of wave rock and we loved the Hippo smiling Rock. Bloopers are soooo goood 😊
The Hippo is pretty cool haha. As or the bloopers....there is *_always_* plenty of them to share 😝

Thanks
Thank you so much legend 😍🥰
There's some nice hand paintings in the cave.
I think from memory there was around 450 of them! Pretty impressive ;)
We need more bloopers!😂😂
Hippo yawn rock looked cool though
More bloopers? Come on... we don't stuff up so how can we have bloopers? hahahaha.
We need more bloopers!! 😂😂😂 hippo yawn rock looked cool though
😂😂😂We'll be sure to keep including them!
Hipppo yawn was pretty cool. You could really see the Hippo, unlike some other places we've been before.
I saw u there
If you ever see us again, come say hi 👋
@@Explore_ozok
Look forward to it. Do you live in WA?
*_Would you swim at Magic Lake??_*
The flys, LOL. You're in WA, might be time for some fly nets.
The flys were intense hahaha. We have a couple fly nets somewhere in the caravan...Now we just have to find them...🤪
Maybe I missed it but what charity do you donate 10:of your earnings to?
And how does one know when you you donate to and who?

Wave Rock looks awesome. Magic Lake didn't look magic at all haha.
Yeah agree with ya there. Wave rock is a pretty cool formation. Lake magic unfortunately was a little less magic then we had hoped.
@Explore_oz yeah I can see that haha. Dod they say if there was a time of year for Lake magic to be in peak?

@Explore_oz yeah okay. Bit of a let down haha. But can't always win hey haha
