This was the first performance of Di that i saw ever. Maybe first time I’ve heard this song Samaltau. Maybe not, i’m not sure. But this was first time when I got the emotions and real meaning of the song. It touched my heart so much that I had tears on my eyes, pain on my chest, and couldn’t properly breathe. I was mesmerized and lost in time and space. 💜🇰🇿

Каждый раз плачу, слушая эту песню. Инструменты четко передают звуки степи, слова наполнены такой тоской по родине и родным, а голос Димаша соединяет все в необыкновенную ожившую историю, происходившую больше 100 лет назад. Как же настрадался мой народ. Как красиво казахский язык передает чувства к земле, где родился! Если бы Вы понимали смысл слов, которые в переводе всегда звучат коряво, но наполнены глубочайшим смыслом, Вы бы начинали рыдать с первых минут..Как же мы любим свою землю, как привязаны к семье!!! - все смог передать Димаш и эти эмоции понятны без слов. Wonderful interpretation and magical voice of our Dimash in this heartfelt song that causes goosebumps and watery eyes. And so excellently complemented with these traditional instruments that simulate the sounds of wind, rain and, in the case of the Kobyz, cows, wolves, dogs and cranes flying at sunset. Wonderful and vivid landscape and history painted and told through the music that Dimash gives us.

Absolutely am with you on this piece Fil. Knowing the story behind it, not understanding the language, it blows me away every time I hear it.
When Kazakhstan belonged to Russia, young Kazakhs were forced, by the Russian Empire, to leave their homes and fight many years until their total massacre. The story of one of these young people, who desperately marches into a war that is not his, besides the sadness of leaving his parents, elders, with no one to take care of and the certainty that he will never see the mountains (“tau”) of Kazakhstan again generated this wonderfully sad song! In addition to Dimash's talent, we have a wonderful ambience and two fantastic musicians: Olzhas Qurmanbeck - Master in playing Qobyz (Kobyz, who looks like a violin), the other who plays “rainstick”! A supernatural journey to the plains of Kazakhstan, through Music!
